Vintage Victorian Typewriter, Dec. 17th
My Vintage Victorian Typewriter set is scheduled for release on December 17th. The set includes 2 new mesh files, base game & OFB typewriters. The mesh files are basic black typewriters, and each typewriter has 5 decorative recolors.
The 5 recolor are antique white, red, jade (green), bronze, and vintage blue. The typewriters are fully animated, the cd tray slides open and your Sims can pop in a cd. A special thanks to MoonlitMaiden for the wonderful suggestion.
Merry Christmas and Happy Simming!
Update
Ok, so I'm finally going to update. I'll start off with some floors and walls and then go from there. I haven't made anything new in a long while but I still haven't uploaded everything I have made from before. Hopefully everything will work fine even for those with Pets.Enjoy!

Snowflakes
Next to festive hairstyles, warm indoor clothing has been the second most popular choice with those who have taken my poll, so I decided to re-colour my Autumn cardigans in festive shades and also to create some matching skirts. The Snowflakes collection comprises eight festive mix and match items: 4 tops and 4 bottoms. The top consists of a snug cropped cable knit cardigan worn over a contrasting cotton top with snowflake embroidery. The bottom half consists of a cosy woollen skirt worn with trendy diamond patterned black opaque tights and black leather knee high boots with silver buckles.
Both top and bottom use a standard Maxis mesh (the top half requires Nightlife). Neither mesh originally had a bump map so I added bump maps by following Morague's excellent tutorial at MTS2 .

All items can be worn by adults and young adults.
Merry Christmas!
Georgian Townhouse Set
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that this week's Georgian Townhouse looks rather similar to the Georgian Graduate Starter (which will be available for download on Sunday, btw). I've built three versions of that lot, each one progressively larger than the last. This lot is the largest of the three. Hopefully, (if I can pull it off, lol) there will be a set of all three available shortly. Now, of course if I'd thought on, I could have shown you a photo of the middle-sized townhouse here and it would all have made much more sense. But sadly, I didn't ;-)So instead, I shall bombard you with photos of the large Georgian Townhouse. There are quite a few to come - not least because this lot took me a loooong time. You have been warned!
Hmm... the best laid plans.... it seems I can't upload photos at the moment (maybe because of the site upgrades) so I shall post this for now and return with pics soon. Bye!
Holiday
Leaving for our xmas trip soon. Can't wait to see my family. I'm debating whether or not to upload a set of swim wear for teens before I go. I just can't decide. Maybe I'll just keep them until spring? Hmmm? Whatcha think? Anyone have teen sims in need of new swim wear?Christmas Tree and Living Room
Sorry for the inactivity the past week or so, I've been busy with this evil christmas tree project. It's been alot of work but overall it was fun, and i think i will do a few other animated chistmas 'flashy' things for Christmas.
And i have a preview of what i have done so far on my Kalhiti Living Room (including the window ^.^)...
Nice comments
Thank you all for your nice comments. They realy makes me want to create more.I have so little time to spend on this. I would like to thank you all for your nice comments here and in PMs and on objects, but I use the time to create and I hope you will se that as a thank you :).
Of course there will be red baubels and golden garland for the Christmas tree!
Rusty Thanks
So, why hasn't anyone thanked me for my rusty old pipes and such?WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?! If you're not careful, I shall start making pretty flowered table cloths instead. THEN you'll be sorry!
(won't you?!)
Of course, I would thank me. But no matter how many times I sit here clicking 'thank the artist', it keeps retorting with "you cannot thank yourself!"
Hmph! Still, not giving up yet. Onwards with my clicking endeavours!
Naturally, all this is said in good humour and I'm not really expecting you to give a weary sigh and then go click 'thank the artist' on all my creations. No, I'm really not. Really! But, if you want to, well....... (heh)
A Few Screenies
A few screenshots of my current project, which is a recolor of my Victorian Inspired Study set.
What Grinds My Gears...aka step on soapbox.
Yep you guessed it, this blog entry is about something that ticks me off.I have said many times that I love request, and to be honest I really do. I have made some really great stuff because of requests I have gotten. So by all means keep them coming.
But what gets me is folks know how to start, either in my guest book or in a PM. They always start off great, like there is a formula:
1)Compliment the artists many creations
2)Always begin with if your not too busy
3)Ask for the request
4)tell them how much it will mean to you.
Now they may not go in that order, but those are the basic points that everyone seems to follow.
But what gets my goat, is that once I am done with the request, I never hear from that person again.
Now not everyone is like that. Take GodessofWar1022, She is always very nice with the asking for the request, but afterwards she makes me know she really appreciates what I have done. Thank you GodessofWar1022, you make requests worth it.
Now I'm not saying you folks should gush over what I have done, but some form of acknowledgment would be nice. Maybe a comment on the item, or an entry in my guest book if I did the request. Either of these would really make it worth it.
And just to let everyone know, I am keeping a list of folks that don't do the follow up. This doesn't mean I will never do a request for you again, but your will go on the back burner until I have nothing else to do.
So if you want me to take your requests seriously, and you have many you might want, do the follow up. As an artist it makes it worth it trust me.
And that's what grinds my gears.
(Gets off soapbox.)
Beds of Roses?
Well, I thought it was about time I submitted some more of the Bedding and Curtain Sets I have lurking around my folders. I searched 21,000 game snapshots to find the screenshots I knew had taken and phew, I eventually found them! So duly 'paint-shopped' and sorted there will be some new recolours coming by here very soon. Some people have NO sense of humour!
They don't, do they? Some people just don't have a sense of humour, can't take a joke, aren't amused by, well, a little harmless retelling of a tale. Especially ex birdwatchers, it seems....You remember my latest giggleworthy tale: the Bearded Crow? Well, I found THIS comment on it today...
On Dec 13, 2006 Cyclonesue Partner wrote:
I have only just seen this! This ex-birdwatcher will be having words with you when you get home from work. Just hope that I don't make further mistakes ..... regarding the amount of chillis accidentally falling in your evening meal.
Like I say: NO sense of humour. I might have to start pretending that I enjoy chilli peppers added to my food. I'm NOT being threatened by cross people with no sense of humour!
Thank- You
I want to take this time to say thank-you to all the people who rated my items under the old system. You folks gave me a lot to be proud of and I appreciate that very much.I check the ratings and comments on each item every day so I know what you enjoy and it gives me an idea of what I need to improve, what to make more of, etc.
I don't know how this new system is going to work out really. Maybe I'll warm up to it over time... maybe not. I'm feeling a bit upset, hurt and angry with TSR right now.
Ultimately what matters is that YOU like what I make.
So, thank- you to all who have rated my items in the past and those who will in the future. **HUGS**
I have a mini site!
That's right, Dr. Macabre has a mini site. I worked hard to get it, and I want to thank everyone that helped me along the way. And a big Thanks to Darqstar! Your so deserve being a select artist. So as I have said before, black t shirts rule and I will continue to make them as well as other things that I enjoy. And if you have any request, feel free to let me know. I do Enjoy making things that people truly want.
Because I'll be honest, there are a lot of times I have now idea what to make. I'll do a set that I think you folks would enjoy, and it doesn't get as many downloads as I thought. So request help me to level that out.
Also I would like to thank TSR for the new rating system. I'll be honest, I was planning in turning of ratings as soon as I got this mini site. Now I don't have to. I know there are folks out there that liked hiding behind the invisible curtain, and down rating things because they either don't like it, *then why did you download it in the first place?) or don't like the person making it. But thanks to TSR thats all gone now and I couldn't be happier.
Well I guess thats it for my first blog entry, don't want to bore anyone.
Gabriel
Look I told you I was a terrible blogger! I sure wasn't lying lolol! Thank you all for your well wishes and congrats with the pregnancy, I really appreciate it :) Now the baby is a boy, we found that out at the end of November so we have agree on the name of Gabriel. And let me tell you, name picking is hard! And boy is he active! I swear he thinks he is going to be the next Zidane and keeps me awake all night with his kicks and flips :) I have had three scans so far, 8week, 12week and 22 week. I have only two scans scanned (lolol) so let me see if I can attach them lolol. Here is the 8 week scan as it is my favorite, it is the shape of the baby although it is only the size of a bean at that time lol! I will post my January pics when we do them:
I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and safe!!! New year!!!
Holly
Continuing my festive hair theme, my next set features another re-colour of the glamorous Thai hairstyle from Happy Holiday Stuff. This time the hair band has a festive holly design and the hair comes in 8 beautiful shades: black, brunette, golden brown, copper, strawberry blonde, natural blonde, golden blonde and, for the first time, burgundy.
The festive style is available for adults, young adults and elders. Again, I've re-coloured the corresponding teen, child and infant styles to match. Requires Happy Holiday Stuff or the Happy Holiday Mini Pack (if you still haven't checked this out, take a look at the official site - you can download these packs from there. They include some gorgeous Asian themed clothing, as well as the mesh required for my hair styles - no, I'm not on commission!)
Merry Christmas!
Childrens room
Looking at my little poll I see that the childrens room is a little ahead. So I have startet a set aiming at children.I am afraid it will take a little while as I am in the middle of writing my bachlor assignment (due 3 of january, can you belive it.. bye, bye new years).
Anyway I have the design planned out, so I on to meshing. I will be kind of retro modern and hopefully to your liking...
I'll keep you posted :)
Just when I thought I'd got tiles out of my system I think of more designs I simply have to do... some really pretty colours, mostly plain tiles but with beautiful patterned inserts. I think they look ace in the game. Should be up by the weekend.
Perhaps the best compliment I could ever receive!
In a forum discussing the new rating system, with everyone benevolently drawing knives against each other (usual happy chit-chat that all forums enjoy), Robinrains posted about my work. She said:
"Honestly, you should see me some days when I'm building a lot or something and going through my folders to decide what items to use. I'll see something and say, "What the heck is that? Oh yeah, something I downloaded from cyclonesue....I wonder what I'm supposed to do with it?"
I have reached the zenith of my creativity. THIS is what it's all about. Tonight, I feel ecstatic.
But there is no need for anyone to be rude about it! Rude comments will only lead to Bad Ends for you.
Armand Hair For Men
Today I have submitted six recolors of the Armand hair mesh by HIM666 at Wicked Sims. It's a gorgeous men's hair! Hopefully, it will be available for your enjoyment in a few days. :)I can only assume that it was named such after the Anne Rice character of same name. You can also download a whole sim named Armand that the hair goes with if you are so inclined.
Cheers!
Christmas!!
Hi fellow Simmers!I have just uploaded a set of six sparkly outfits for toddlers which I made a few weeks ago in readiness for the holiday season. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them! Happy Holidays everyone!
More pics!
As promised, here's a couple more pics of the Georgian Graduate Starter lot. It's a 3x1 lot and the car is included in the price. The lot has a walkout, daylit basement which leads to a surprisingly spacious sunken garden...The rear of the building:

Why I Don't Make Many Recolors
I've silenty debated on this question, and felt it only right to post this where all can see on my page...I do no more than about 8 or 9 recolors--
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple
MAYBE Black
MAYBE White
MAYBE the original color of an outfit if not one of the colors above
I have tried to recolor submissions as per downloader's requests in all different shades of the above color, and have not liked the result (neon colors, and 12 shades of purple, for example) so I have come to this decision...
Those colors listed above are the only recolors I will submit my submissions in. I'm sorry, I understand that some members want more shades of red, or blue, but I like keeping my recolors of an item under about 10, or even I get tired of seeing them, lol.

You Got A Problem With The Pamperless Toddler?
Then get your mind out of the gutter.I already sent this to one small-minded member, and now I will be reposting this for all to see.
"To any who take offense to my unpampered toddler mesh, you need to look at the overall reason for the mesh. First off--the mesh itself is "Barbie-dolled" meaning there are no parts on it that should not be seen. Secondly, it's a chance to recolor a toddler mesh with no bulky pampers on it. If you do not like the mesh, then you are more than welcome to pass it over for download. In my opinion, if you're taking offense to it, then you're thinking small...and dirty, if you ask me. You are quite obviously not a mesher, or you would be very grateful for this un-huggied mesh.
Babies are innocent--there are no "naughty" parts when it comes to innocence. Innocence, however, can be ruined by small minds. I have made a few CLOTHED submissions using this mesh that SOMEONE ELSE first unlocked on another site, and now the mesh is no longer available, leaving me in a position where people are demanding the mesh. They demanded, and I provided. Plus, I wanted to continue making cute PAMPERLESS outfit sets for toddlers.
If you have a problem with me unlocking this mesh (which I did NOT make, it was already in the game) then speak to thesimsresource. And when I am asked why the mesh is no longer available, I'll make sure to point in your direction.
Loosen up, grow up, and look at the big picture, not the dirty one. Geez."

Re: Select Artist Status
Wow! :D How cool is this? Thank you for the honor, I'm truly flattered. I hope to live up to the title. Going to upload a couple more sets before the holidays but then I'll be on a break til the new year while we are travelling. Look for brand spankin new content from me in the brand spankin new year. Until then I wish all of you the most joyous of holiday seasons and a most prosperous new year!~Nic :)
Car Wreck Updated!
Woot! I'm on a roll!Next up is the wrecked car. Those of you who already have this will know that it only fitted on a 2 x 2 grid, meaning that Sims could walk through the ends...
NOT ANY MORE! The placer grid for the car is now the correct 3 x 5 in size and Sims won't now be able to walk through the car. And, as a bonus, I've also reduced the file to a much leaner size.
How about that?!

Wrecked Car
NOTE: this new version will simply replace the old version in your downloads folder. HOWEVER, if you have any lots in your game with the old version of the car, they won't update automatically. Therefore, you'll need to go into the lot and replace it in order to put an end to Sims walking through the car.
Vintage Victorian Typewriter
I receive a lot of wonderful comments on my creations and quite a few suggestions for new objects. I don't have time to do requests, but if the suggestion is brillant, I'll run with it! Of course, sometimes I can not get an object to work correctly and those objects never see the light of day, LOL! The vintage typewriter took a little bit of time to create. I spent the last 2 days creating the typewriter, which is cloned from a computer. My typewriter is based on a model invented in 1874-1876.
P.S. I plan to release my Victorian Inspired Nursery, Part III before Christmas. Merry Christmas!
Working on wallpapers the last few days has inspired me to have a go at carpets too. Should have some up by the weekend.
Uploading creations can be a tedious process.
Shag Carpet
Not only a great compliment to my 1970's wallpapers, but to any of the Studio K designs. These look really great in the game. Shag in Aqua Blue:

Have an AMAZING day!
1 Million Downloads!
Whoot! How cool is that?My sincerest thanks to everyone who has downloaded, rated, commented and provided help and encouragement to me - I just wish I was home with better computer access to celebrate this moment more. :)
Learning New Skills
Hi All
I don't have the space and time to embark on another movie, or story before the Christmas holidays
(I seem to have lost a week somewhere). I am using the time I do have to learn a
freeware movie editing program.
http://www.zs4.net/free-software-downloads
It has been a long while since I have been so unfamiliar with a new program
that I've needed to start with page 1 of the tutorials, and then do tutorial
number one again, because it didn't really sink in the first time. So far I've
managed to create some odd looking titles and a thirty second video where a
blurry stick girl melts into my nephew's elbow.
Don't let this put you off movie editing, most of the programs out there are
fairly easy to use and you can get a reasonable result straight away. This one
warns that it has 'a steep learning curve', and I can so far confirm that this
is turning out to be the case.
best wishes
Kate
Hi
Hi and welcome to my new minipage :)I love creating for the sims. So if you have any request just pm me or sign my guestbook.
New Charmed stuff
*adding pic* I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. This week I will be working on some totally new stuff to complete my Charmed theme. I will be doing some fashions from the final season(Season 8) of the show, plus some faces as well. I am hoping to do faces for Billie, Christy, Henri, plus a redo of my Jason Dean face because it was something I wasn't really satisfied with at that time. There will be fashions for the sisters(Piper, Phoebe, and Paige) along with a couple of selections for Billie as well. Previews wil be posted as I get projects completed.

Gas Pump Lamps Updated!
A year is a LONG time in the Sims creation world. Ask any creator what they were making a year ago, and they'll most likely try changing the subject, or laughing off 'those old things' that were their very best work back then. Indeed, my meshing skills have improved too in that year (somewhat - negligibly) and I'm revisiting some of my older work to improve that which looks now, quite frankly, disastrous. First up are my 'gas pump' floor lamps. They are now newly meshed and have been properly smoothed. This means they no longer look like Lego pieces.
UPDATED! Gasoline Pumps 1
UPDATED! Gasoline Pumps 2ChristmasTree
I have been working so hard with this silly project. A christmas tree you will be able to decorate yourself. All decorations comes in different packages in different colours. Make your own special tree.
New Project
I'm working on a new project for men. I've got to fix a problem with the mesh on the shoulder, then I should be ready to upload. Here's a preview for you!
No free rotation for now
Changes again. Setting all the content except featured artists to be free is taking a tall on TSR. Subscriptions are dropping. To help promote subscription, free rotation of our creations is limited or even completely stopped by now. It's hard to say what will it be in the future. But I support this move and strongly believe that TSR subscription is well worth it! You will not find a better selection for this price at any other sims site!Retired
I am offically retired. I've gotten very sick over this past year and can no longer create things. Everything of mine is fine to use for TSRAA purposes. I may pop in from time to time when I feel well. But I just don't have the energy to create anymore.Good Luck! GamerG
FEATURED ARTIST!
The wonderful Jessica over at Wicked Sims has offered me a Featured Artist spot there! You can visit me under Nokomys' Insomniac Paradise. I will be making some recolors/ items exclusively for Wicked Sims. This will also give me some extra freedom as to what I can work with as that site is totally free- so expect to see things there that you won't see here.www.wickedsims2.com
Don't worry... I'll still be making some stuff for here. :)
Victorian Inspired Study, Dec. 10th
The Victorian Inspired Study set for publication on December 10th. The set includes a world globe. I was going to recolor the globe from my Tudor Rose Library set. However, when I saw its high polygon count (nearly 5,000) I decided to create a new lower poly mesh. You may not be aware of it but too many objects with high polygon counts can slow your game. The new globe has a poly count of 1848, and I think it is more attractive too. My modeling skills have improved since creating the older mesh. So, if you have the Tudor Rose globe in your Sims 2 download folder, please delete it and replace it with the new globe. The Tudor Rose Library Globe
