Victorian Kitchen Decor

I have just finished a few decorative objects, to add a little clutter to your kitchen counter, LOL. In addition, there are shelves of potted herbs, (basil, rosemary, and oregano) and glass jars of canned goods to give your kitchen a homey touch. If you look close at my preview screenshot, (see minisite frontpage) you will see a few other decorative objects on the kitchen counter. There is a Cream Cheese Pound Cake, on a pedestal cake plate. I love to bake in real life, and I actually made this cake for my family. Then, inspiration struck! I used my digital camera to take a photo of the cake and used it as the texture for my cake mesh. I'm sure this means I spend waaaaaaaay too much time creating for the Sims 2 game, LOL! In addition, I have created a few recolors for my vintage pedestal sink, the skirt is a separate subset, which means you can change its color, as well as the base wood color of the kitchen sink. Stay tuned for more updates... The cake texture file Vintage Cake Plate in-game

Simple is beautiful...

No, I'm NOT talking about me, this time. Not the 'simple' bit anyway.

I'm talking about my latest invention, and it's so stupidly simple that I don't know why I didn't think of it earler...
The Modular Table - one mesh (comes with or without leg option)

This table mesh can be used with or without visible legs. The sides join up seamlessly, meaning you can have dining tables or desks as small or as large as you want. You can even mix and match the colours for decorative effects. I'm really pleased with it.

My apologies go to those of you who have come to expect nothing but disgusting or industrial things; occasionally, we must humour those who like 'nice' things too.

Japanese LuckyCat Recolor Set

Hi, I just finish recolor Windkeeper Japanese Lucky Cat. You can use them for decoration or clock. Coming Soon!!

Village Idiot

That's me, if you didn't already know.

The cause of the fault in my TSR account (me not being able to submit anything new) was me. There. You can all start pointing and laughing now.

Now that I have caused excessive hours and extreme headaches for TSR's finest coders, I will now, contritely, start uploading some of those completed creations mentioned in my last post.

Another First! Clothing!

Well PJs anyways. I have just submitted my first set of clothing recolours/retextures. Here they are, Hope you enjoy.

American Football Jerseys Set 2

My first set of American Football Jerseys seemed quite popular and I was asked to make jerseys for three more teams: Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos (hope you like them Kristal, sovereign34 and Andrea!). I also made a jersey for the Miami Dolphins to complete a set of four (I liked the dolphins on the sleeves!).

Again, I've tried to make the jerseys as authentic as possible. These are tops only, are for adult and young adult males (provided you have University installed) and use a standard Maxis mesh.

Current Projects

Tonight, I will be uploading the Living in Luxury Living Room set finally! Yay!!!

I also have some other projects in the work too. However, most of them will not be submitted until October :-( But I do have a few things I will do this month...

This Month:
1. Update Modern Living Room Shelves
2. Update Contempo Dining Room Cupboard

Projects:
1. Couple's Cottage
2. OFB Set 4
3. Autumn Stuff Set

You are probably wondering what the Autumn Stuff Set is. Well, on September 23, 2006, I will be setting up a Yahoo! Group with a ton of Autumn objects (lots of new meshs, new walls, new floors, lots, and object recolors). In a way, it is like a stuff pack, but it isn't. It's sorta like a mini pack, but it's only going to be availabe at the Yahoo! Group. The Autumn Stuff Set here is exclusive items for TSR that will not be available at the Yahoo! Group.

Hi-Tech Microwaves set for release, Sept 10th

Hi-Tech Microwave Ovens, set for release September 10th. The set includes both OFB and base-game microwave ovens. Bon Apptit!

Kudos Exclusive: Windkeeper's Clock set

My latest set will be offered as one of the kudos reward downloads. 6 new working clock meshes with additional recolors, including my latest - a cute pair of cat clocks of my own design! You don't need to have a pay subscription to get those, but have to earn kudos instead. Good luck!

Just a Quick Update

As you will see from my upcoming items there is a Maxis Race Car Bedroom Set, this set I found in the game files and have made compatible for everyone to download, EA/Maxis has given permission for the publishing of this set on TSR.

Another point all my upcoming Lots will require the Family Fun Stuff and Glamour Life stuff packs, I have put off installing them, but now I play the game more I would like to benefit from the extra objects in these packs, especially the Glamour pack which is the best I think.

Andrea:)

Unable to bring it on!

You might have noticed that my usually-full calendar is depleting rather alarmingly.

Unfortunately, my TSR account is being plagued with all sorts of errors when I try to submit anything. So, while I wait in hope of this being fixed, I'll give you an update on some of the things you can expect from me over the next few weeks...

Waiting in the wings for upload right now, I have...

o Airlock window set (standard windows)
o Airlock extendable (never-ending) windows (3 sets)
o Curved walls and tower tops (plus recolours)
o Cement recolours of my brick plinths
o A Greek-themed small lot
o Modular extendable table and recolours (this one's neat!)
o An invisible window

Also under way (read 'started but unfinished' projects)...

o Construction girders
o Decorative guttering
o Industrial brick archways
o Scaffolding

Lekker Sims goes Mini

I took the plunge and got a mini site. I am quite excited, because I have a lot of new stuff in the works for your Sims. It may take a day or so to get it all set up, so please bear with me.

I may update less over the next week or two, as I've company coming to town. But don't think that you are being neglected. I have list after list of creations I hope to get to you soon - including more OFB shop furnishings to match the cubes released last week as well as the ones I hope to upload this weekend.

I also want to thank all of you that have left me such nice comments. Those always make my day. :)

Second part to my next set

As already revealed part of my next big set is Greecian decor items. There will also be Greek restaurant items (still working on those) such as a table (with alpha editable cloth), chair, business sign, table decor wine bottles etc. and of course Greek Cuisine! Completely new meshed food that's fully animated :) Here is a sneek peek at the 6 new dishes I have created.

Wow!

I can't believe I finally got the mini site with the Kudos! This will make letting you know what I'm working on much easier now!

Anyways... I'll let you know what I've been working on now

I've been very busy with school, so I haven't had much time to create. I've been creaitng little bits in some of my free time.

Current Projects:
1. Living in Luxury Living Room
2. The Couple's Cottage

I will be submitting Living in Luxury Living Room this weekend. However, it will be my last upload for the month :( But, in October I hope to have tons of new stuff! :)

Finally!

Well finally after some time away from TSR for a Holiday, before the kids went back to school.Popping in occasionally to say thanks for all the nice comments I received.I was quite staggered at the amount of comments that accumalated over my holiday,it was nice to get them even if it took me the best part of the day to reply back to them all.

On the Sims front although there hasn't been much uploaded from me in the past couple of weeks, I have been incredibly busy.Playing with every aspect of the creative side, except the game, I never got time to play the game.I am been painting eyes, recolouring glasses, as well as my usual recolour stuff, which will get uploaded soon.Creating new textures, hoods and even making new meshes.Meshes? No you've not seen those from me yet.

A run of bad luck

Well, I've been working on a kitchen for about a month now. It's been as difficult as I expected it to be. That's why I haven't shown anyone but the one who requested it any previews. I was nearly finished when Glamour came out. The day before it did, I had a problem, so I uninstalled FFS. Before I did, though, I zipped up the TS2 folder in My Documents. After I reinstalled, I went to unzip, and the over 4GB zip file was corrupted. Luckily, I had made a backup of the neighborhood in SimPE a day or two before, and only part of my downloads were in it.

I managed to salvage part of zip file, but I still lost a big part. Once again, I was lucky in that what I lost I had backups for, but unfortunatly, those backups were made before I binned all my custom hair and made collection files for all my object sets. So now I have to rebin all the hair, and make all new collection files.

But that's not the end of the bad luck. Two days ago, I went to run Body Shop so I could make some recolors of the new guys clothes in Glamour. I got a Windows error right away, so I decided to reboot. Everything shut down just fine, but it would start back up. No beep to let me know everything was OK. So, after a day of frustration and checking everything I could think of, I realized that my graphics card has died.

What does this mean? Well, I'll be getting my Radeon 9600 back from a friend as soon as I can, so I'm not completely without. I will be finishing this kitchen as soon as I can, but it's going really slow trying to run Milkshape on a GeForce 2. If I have to, I can borrow my husband's PC while he's at work to create. I really don't want to do that. I was so happy when he got his new PC so we didn't have to share anymore.

Hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things again in no time.

Preview pics - new tutorials

There's a temporary delay at TSR for getting tutorials published, so meantime I can at least let you know that the first 3 will be the new Glass Domes one, plus revisions of 2 more. The Domes one is pitched at Intermediate level, and the other two at Basic level. I posted a preview pic of the Glass Domes tute last week in this blog. Here are the preview pics of the other two - many more to come! :) and

Hi-Tech Microwaves

A little break from the Victorian era... KitchenMaid microwave ovens for your home. I created this mesh (microwave oven) over 1 year ago, but I was not satisfied with the design. After a bit of tweaking of the texture and mesh, I've decided it is now ready for "prime-time!"

HOW TO... find and post pics from the game

Pictures are located under My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods/N00X/Storytelling (X=Whatever number neighborhood it is - they go in order. ex. Pleasantview is N001)

When you post a reply, look below the "Submit Reply" section at Additional Options. There's a big button called "Manage Attachments". Press that and browse until you find your picture.

You probably want to right click in the Storytelling folder and have it arrange by Modified, then the newest pics will be at the bottom. Press View... then select Thumbnails so you can see the pics. Select the snapshot version because the thumbnail version is too small. Then upload it and post.

FrenchFrames

Due to publish September 10th for the FA Posh theme week. Use in your mansions, as fashion runway backdrops, or in your swanky stores. I hope you'll enjoy the collection. Others with this molding are in my archives.

Mixin' It up!

So, I've made a new hair mesh. Usually, I stay away from hair meshes because there are so many people that really do a lovely job on them. BUT, my son is a little skater dude--13 in a couple of weeks. He and all of his friends are letting their hair go long and are just so cute! But he drives me nuts with his hair in his eyes! So, he always wants to make a sim of himself! It doesn't have his pretty curls, but he says he likes it. I hope you all do!

Chapter # 1 -- Introducing The Sims 2. There are long lines I need to say in this part. The camera will fellow me into the magazine's office --it called Future Gamer here. People said it look like Fear Facter when the contestant walking & speaking. Story of a Couple --Markus&Rita's Story They are models for my clothes. Rita is winner of my Sim Nation's Next Top Model. They made by another talent thai artist named 'aj1_beloved' --He made all my preview screenshot now. This part of Chapter # 1 is about them and it features all Expansion Packs to introduce people on what The Sims 2 & its EPs have. Chapter # 2 -- Create a Sim! I do not need to show this part vbecause we already know how to do this. Chapter # 3 -- Create cloth recolor. This is a very easy cloth recolor tutorial. In this part, we introduce people some great sim sites, but the first one is EA Thailand's site --they has sim forum, too. Chapter # 4 -- The T's Creations. Computer Update

Okay ... I have had enough TV ... 4 days and I can't take it anymore. Placed my order for a new computer .... and providing everything works as it should (?) I should be up and running by the end of the month. I have a lot that I want to create for October .... so for now I am resorting to pen and paper with designs that I will work from once my computer is installed. Until then ... as Arnold would say .... "I'LL be back!"

Little bearly butts

I made a smaller bearly Butts that toddlers can use. It uses the same texture as the big maxis one. All recolours can be used by both of them.

Me, Tommy, and little Christiana

a very cute little video slideshow of my family in the game. Enjoy!

Seperates!!...And a comment on comments

Hey everyone!

Been a while since I posted, so I thought I would let you know whats on the way. I have been inpired recently to do some seperates. I've been focusing a bit on full outfits, which is fine, but I would like to have a few more shirt choices for my Sims, so I figured maybe some of you would, as well. I just submitted a set of shrug "sweaters" which will be released in a few days. They are very romantic and feminine. They are a little unusual, but I really like how they turned out.

I also have a collection of leather skirts for your sim ladies, complete with platform sandals, as well as some retro inspired formal dresses. Tres Sexy!

As for the comments..just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have left them. I read them all, they inspire me quite a bit, and I appreciate them a great deal. I have tried to get back to some of you, but it takes quite a bit of time, which I could spend making more things. My sentiment is usually the same, so I will say it to everyone; "Thanks for taking the time to let me know that you like the work I do. It means so much to me, and honestly makes it easier, and more enjoyable to create things for The Sims."

I spend an immense amount of time making the things I do, and I strive for quality to the point of exhaustion. Taking the time to let me know that my effort is appreciated has made it all worthwhile.

Thanks!

Oil Drum Table Revised

If you downloaded the oil drum table and found it missing its label decoration, please redownload it (the drum should have TWO recolourable parts - not just the drum colour). Following what appears to be great incompetence on my part (who else's?) it transpired that this particular drum, instead of containing a mesh for the label, contained two copies of the ground shadow. Aren't I clever?!

Anyway, it's fixed, so if you downloaded the drum but find it's missing its label, please download it again. Clicking the picture below will take you direct to the download page (which I guess is the very LEAST I can do)...

Oil Drum Table Mesh

You would think that, by now, I knew what I was doing. It is my great shame, for I now know that Maxis people have looked at my mini-site. All these 'Oops! blog entries have no doubt given them something to point and laugh at, and the assurance that they know why THEY are the game designers and I'm not!

If anyone here wishes to make any rude comment, you'd best be warned that I enjoy nothing better than a good excuse to thump rude people!

New Stuff Pack!!!

Hi everyone - just uploaded some more goodies for you.

I've now got my hands on the new Glamour Life stuff pack so that will be getting my attention in the next week or so ....

Happy Simming/Downloading/Creating - and have fun!!

More is comming!

I am working on a realy tricky project (another playable toddler toy), but in the meantime I have made some recolours of my toddler tea party set. This is dedicated to Dot. A great featured artist.

Preview of Upcoming Set...

Just a few screenshots of "Victorian Inspired Kitchen, Part III."

Lots of updates

Hi everyone! I am updating a lot these days. Other than my Sweet Lights Set (for elders, going to be published tomorrow) and the Shy Time Set (for teen), I also have been working on swimsuits set and an other elders set. I try to vary my work too, I tend to do stuff only for adult females, and generally casual or formal :) Hope you'll like those too!

Computer Problems!

*screams in horror* .... Yes! The worst has come to past ... I have blown BOTH my disk drives and am unable to access my Sims2 game. Oh woe is me! I am being forced to watch TV instead *much moaning here* .... and must make a decision soon as to 1) Buy a new heavy-duty computer with a spiffy graphics card and 20 inch digital flat screen 2) Have my old clunker of a computer fixed. What to do, what to do? Bottom line is it may take me a week or so to decide, of course if I have to watch much more TV .... I may make the decision sooner.

More Princess Diana

*More pics added* Not much to say other than... this week is a continuation of the Princess Diana theme that was requested in the TSR Skinning forum. I'm hoping to get quite a few done this week, before we leave for the Labor Day weekend to go on a canoe trip with my husband's side of the family. Pics to be posted as I complete the outfits.

More goodies in the pipeline...

As well as the curved walls, I've been working doggedly on an enormous set for the 'Construction Industry' theme and it's taken the best part of a month for me to complete. It's a huge series of 'airlock' doors and windows and it comprises an incredible 37 meshes - so these will be split into a small number of sets once I've set up the screenshots. As that is going to take me some time, I've posted some piccies...

Airlock Doorway Arches

A small selection of windows and doors

Also features 'never-ending' sizes for all windows!

Door Colours

Some of the smaller windows

Look out for this series some time in September - another in the ongoing series of 'construction'!

Tiko's Building Tutorials

While I'm getting my tutorials ready for the TSR format, you can access the ones I've already written by clicking on this link:

Tiko's tutorials

I'll aim to leave this blog up for a few days to let you know where to go! ;)

Btw, if you're looking for what are sometimes called Hanging or Suspended Bridges, look at the Jungle Walkways tutorial for the relevant info! ;)

Where I Get My Hair Downloads From

Just in case anyone else is wondering (I've already gotten like 100 PM's asking), I get my
hairstyles from the current sites: TSR (of course), Modthesims2.com, peggysims2.net,
simdifference.com, parsimonious.org, sims2sisters.com, simsconnection.com, and pronupsims.net.

Emergency Sabbatical

I'm a bit late in writing this but I did not get the time to do so earlier. My grandfather sadly passed away last Thursday, August 24, 2006, ironically on his 56th wedding anniversary with my grandmother. I immediately jumped on the earliest flight overseas back to my family here in Canada for the funeral, which is thankfully now over (it was very nicely done). I'll not be returning home to Sweden for just over another week so that I can spend some quality time with my family but I felt I should inform those of you here on TSR of my status so you do not think I've suddenly gone AWOL. However, you can expect several new submissions from me when I return around mid-Sept., including some great recolours (if I do say so myself) of Windkeeper's fabulous animated kitchen clocks and many other new mesh ideas I've been collecting as I while away the many hours spent driving back and forth through our Canadian cottage countryside. :)

New tutorials coming - gradually!

I've had to put Hagrid's Hut on the shelf - it just doesn't seem realistic yet. It will come - I'm sorry about the delay. So I've gone back to writing and revising tutorials. The first one will be on Building Simple Glass Domes - something which people often ask me how to do. :) This will be the title picture:

Round the bend

I've gone round the bend [brief pause here to listen for any whispered ruderies].

More accurately, I'm taking walls around the bend. The main curve pictured below is actually a column so that it can be built upon. I'm also designing it so that the recolour template will be easy-peasy - just take any of your favourite 256 x 512 wallpapers and apply!

The set will also comprise of decorative trims for the tops of the walls in different styles, and a few recolours to match some of the Maxis wallpapers we already have. That way, it's not just your castles that can enjoy curved walls!

Caught!

The ornithologist featured in the last entry has spotted the tale.

She laughed good-naturedly, but had that unmistakable look that suggested blogs right across the web are about to be adorned with stories along the lines of: "Cyclonesue's most embarrassing toilet moment!"

I suppose I asked for it.
