Sims1Adaptations
I have a few thousand walls from Sims1 that I am beginning to convert to sims 2. They will be ready for the week of the 13th. Do some of these look familiar?
Cyclonesue's Spring Clean
Well, alright - it's not Spring yet - and there's precious little cleaning being done in the Cyclonesue camp either (so another meaningless blog title, therefore).I realised lately that my Downloads folder was full of 'nearly done' creations and my bombsite-style neighbourhoods brimming with 'almost finished' lots (well, 'brimming' meaning about three, actually), and the ONE thing that had stopped me foisting the dastardly things onto hapless downloaders was pure, unadulterated, bone-idleness. Oh and time, with Real Life staring sternly at me each time I insert the Sims CD back into the drive.
Yes, because, in order to share something at this fine site, one has to photograph it, and make pretty pictures, and submit the things, and... (reaches for sedatives).
But have you seen my release calendar? Packed, it is. Packed with all sorts of useless junk that I should have shifted ages ago (and the odd "Never Ending" set here and there). Yes, I MADE myself finish a gazillion items AND submit them.
[ insert round of applause and/or murmurs of appreciation here ]
Simchic Meshes
a lot of people ask me where they can find the meshes at the simchic page, which I use for my creations. For better finding here a direct link: http://www.simchic.com/ts2/ts2_freebies_FA-everydayWHOLE.htmlIn future I will better link it...
Oriental building tutorials?
I've been asked, "Are there any helpful tutorials around on making Japanese and Chinese traditional buildings?" [And thank you to everyone who's asked me, and everyone who's been so great about my Japanese series. :D ]Well, the guy who first made oriental roof buildings for Sims2 is en7en. He made a really great little tutorial on building a 1-level home, which he's since replaced with a much more complicated and very long tutorial at the official Maxis site. You can go to it by clicking HERE - en7en's Ultimate tutorial.
The scaffolding method he outlines there is one I worked out on my own to build spaceships, but it's great to see him developing it too - we all owe much to the inspiration of daihtnaoz7.
en7en's tutorial is very detailed, and also starts with a wall.txt file edit that I don't recommend for builders who want lots of other people to enjoy downloading their work. If you want to start with the easier tutorial, PM me and I'll email it to you. I will be making my own tutorial soon, as part of a series called "Interesting Roofs", covering domes, thatch and pagodas, and my earlier tutorials on sheds and chicken coops.
[By the way, properly speaking a 'pagoda' is actually a multi-level tower, sort of an asian church spire!!! Homes etc just have curved-eave roofs.]
Walls.. walls.. walls
Well i currently have about 6 sets of walls to upload.. i promise i will get around to it =) So look out in the near future Just a hint of whats to come =)
February
February brings thoughts of Spring on it's way, new beginnings, planning, and Love.I'm having fun thinking of projects to contribute to the Theme this month "Lovers Lane".
Happy Valentine's Day!
Romantic...
I am vorking on a buff to go with the columns and stream so the sims can have a romantic dinner by the ruins. I made a heart cake and it will always be there, but the sim vill decorate it when its time to eat. The other food is original and act as the original ones. I have also been making a heart chair. I have taken almost the whole day to get it as I wanted. Its realy a bad picture of the chair. I have to make a better later I think :)
Oh, alright then!
I guess that arch (see last entry) looks pretty okay when used in a room of evenly distributed lighting - and it looks great outdoors. If I release the arch (IF), you MUST promise me you'll use it in well-lit areas, or darker areas provided the amount of light that shades each piece is about equal. The worst enemy of this expanding arch is the sideways-on window, where the arch piece nearest to the window is the brightest (as in my last entry's piccie). Use lighting or windows opposite the arch though, and all is well.
And it will go nicely with my Never-Ending Privacy Window (below) that I've just queued up for release! Thanks to DavidH, this idea allows you to make your windows as little or as long as you like!

More never-ending windows to come soon!
Of course, there are some that might say my blog is never-ending too - but we won't mention what will become of them.
A Spring Clean
...well not for me because it is still summer where I live! However, cleaning as in bathroom. Yes I have completed the postmodern man bathroom. I will show a picture of this later today.
Mew!
The first blog entry is always weird... so um... MEW!It's strange that I've actually wanted to create some more junk, but Bodyshop won't open. Any other time it would have opened fine! Removing all my content didn't appear to do anything, so I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to be reinstalling my game in the very near future in attempt to fix this little problem. Yay!
Aside from Bodyshop wanting to crash, the game is fine... but I haven't touched it in a week or two. My sim spit out twins and I needed a little vacation once they turned into children - it took forever to get them to that point! I ended up venturing into the world of MMORPG and umm... it's as addictive as they say. Hopefully the MMORPG diet will be more effective than the last... ;)
Bear Mountain Update
For those of you awaiting new files to download, Bear Mountain homes 101, 102 and 105 are now available and can be found at the bottom of my homepage. Unfortunately, 104 Bear Mountain Rd has been a little more resistent to surgery, but I hope to have it available to download by the end of the weekend. Thanks for your patience, and please let me know if you continue to have problems!Welcome!
Hi, and thanks for visiting my new TSR mini site! Feel free to take a look around and leave me a note in my guestbook.Things have been crazy around here lately, so don't worry if my submissions are spaced out kind of funny. I'm still creating things, I just don't always have time to submit them right away! So, thanks for hanging in there with me. Happy simming!
Sophia bedroom
I have had a few request to make a matching bedroom to my Sophia Living Room. So here is a quick preview of my work in progress:
So far it consists of a double, bedding, sheer canopy and vanity- more to come.
Estimated release is sometime next week.
Zen - Table Lamp
Just a quick note, there was a small error in the shadow image of the table lamp that has been updated. Sorry for the inconvenience. It wasn't noticable on the dark wood side table so I only discovered it with the ligth recolor (to be released Feb 5/06).EuroBathroom
Recolours didnt work with 4 of the euro bathroom items. Thanks to Windkeeper I have been able to fix this. You need to redownload: the shower, the bathtub, the sink and the toilett if you want recolours to work. I made a recolour for the bathroom in the process of fixing them. Here is the shiny bathroom. As soon as I have got the preview pictures I will have it upploaded.
ParkLanePanel Set
I am still working on perfecting my ParkLane panel walls for Sims2. I have submitted 6 new walls and 5 matching floors. I would appreciate feedback on these.
Update - white wood privacy screen
Please re-download the White wood privacy screen, I've updated that fence. For some reason the light shadows around the edges of lattice part looked too dark when you zoom out (see the pic below, top left). It bothered me so much that I decided to change the texture again. The white screen now looks a bit less realistic on close up but still retains its white color on zoom out (top right). There is a matching gate coming up soon, you can see it on the picture. One more reason for you to update the fence. Thanks!
A Very Happy Birthday!
I'm in a great mood because today is my son's 2nd birthday! Jacob was born Feb. 3, 2004 (02-03-04, which I think is cool) at exactly 12:00 am. In fact, we got to choose his birthdate because the hospital doesn't consider midnight to be part of either day. I'm so excited that he's growing up even though I miss the little baby that he used to be... so I just wanted to wish him a very happy birthday, and here's to another great year!New Sets!
I've been working on three new sets that are inspired by the colors of your favorite cocktails. I'm not a drinker...but I think some of the drinks look so pretty! Hope you like them!Happy Birthday!
Yep, you guessed it...it's my birthday today! :) But, instead of getting a bunch of presents, i made one for you! Here's a preview of my new Pink Romantic Roses wall set...hope you like it! hugz, rowena
Thank you for all your comments!
I've been reading comments left for my creations. There are many that don't just describe the item but also add "thank you for all your work", "I have your windows in every house", and similar. I will not be able to reply to all, just want you to know how much I appreciate all the great comments and PMs!! They make me feel great and inspire me to create more :DHugs,

Work in progress - Swan Lake (continued)
Somehow Maxis default water lilies just weren't big enough for the swans, so I made new large once :). They will be part of the Swan Lake set as well. I wonder if people actually read my blog, hmmm... Oh, well, I can always pretend they do, lol!
Japanese Starter Homes
Although I'd intended to call a close to my traditional Japanese series, because of some requests I'll be adding one or two 'genuine' Starter Homes (i.e. under $20K furnished) to the series.5 Mayfair Square
I have just uploaded the 5th in the Mayfair Square series of lots, this one has 4 bedrooms, is modern contemporary in style with a roof top terrace, pool and hot-tub.
More Fence Recolours
I have been doing some more fence recolours, this time the Picket Fence and matching gates...
Houses!
I just uploaded 2 new houses! 1 starter house and 1 sprawling ranch with all the amenities! They should be published later this week. I also have 2 more almost ready to upload, Classic Estates 8 and 9. I just need to make some preview pictures. They should be available this weekend. Thanks and Enjoy!Work in progress - swan lake
More birds for my swan lake - ducks and little ducklings :). I used the photo texture, makes them look more realistic.
New Stuff
I'm finally getting round to sorting through my saved sims folder to see what I've actually made.Watch this space for some clothing and earrings coming soon.
Flowers
I have finished the flowers and thanks to Windkeeper they are working like plastic plant. No water needed. They can interact with other objects so you can place more than one at the same spot. I will start making uppload pictures tonight This is a smaller version of my beach flower, I think that one was a little big.
Oriental Floors
Floors that match my oriental walls were published yesterday. I hope you were able to find a set you like. Please leave feedback in my guestbook. ThanksWork in progress - swans
My next project - swan lake. These big fat birdies only look simple! The shape wasn't easy to make but texturing takes me ages! Pure white and pure black textures are always the most challenging. Below is what they look like at this stage. Don't think I can improve them, blah! lol!
streem
I am upploading the rivulet items today ( 3 streem part and two separate stones) and they will be released before Valentine.I am working on a lot of different items at the same time, but I think next set for download will be some flowers. I think even before the rivulet. I was inspiered when I build the backgrounds for the rivulet and the columns preview.
Blogs
I'm not one for being much good at blogs, theres a few sets I am working on right now, some complete some still in the process.I like to keep an element of surprise.Hence the lack of descriptions in my blog.Update - missing walls for Shoji set
Matching walls and tatami floors, part of the Shoji set, were published but not linked to the actual set. I didn't notice the glitch until I got a message from covermejoey, thanks for letting me know! :D The walls and floors are now part of the set. You can also download them directly from this page.Asian Inspired--Add-ons
I am working on a few extra pieces for my "Asian Inspired" set. So far, I have completed a loveseat and chair. I may try for a coffee table and another endtable. I like the look of the pieces, but they do remind me a little bit of patio furniture. Will keep you posted. Preview:
Preview 2
More tulips!!
While working hard on a new bathroom (new meshes), I took some time off to make a recolorset of the tulips from the Early Spring set.Yes, more tulips to lure spring our way! Available next week, or even this weekend. Depends.... will I be good or will be lazy :D
Thank You!
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who left comments on my creations during the last month or 2. I ran into a little trouble accessing my comments and wasn't able to thank everyone individually, so here is one big thankyou for those I missed: Thank You!Oriental Theme! I made some dresses out of PaintShopPro textures that I made from scratch. Hope you enjoy them!
Nobody told ME!
I spent AGES making a new arch. An expandable arch with end pieces and a top piece so it could be as little as two squares wide, or as wide as the widest lot base! It was a very cool idea from one of our TSR members and I couldn't wait to try...

Don't get excited. It didn't work because the ambient lighting in the game lights each piece differently and so, indoors as in the above piccie, it looks (quite frankly) rubbish! Just about what you'd expect from the Cyclonesue stable of creations really. Therefore, I don't intend to submit it.
But this ISN'T the point of this story. No, I wanted to tell you about how long it took me to make ALL THREE pieces (note the word THREE). You see: there were TWO end pieces: a left and a right piece. Took me ages to make the last one (the right piece) in particular because it would have looked odd it it was not identical to the left. But I did it - with diagonal versions too!
Only, when playing with the arch in the game, I noticed how interesting it was that, when laying a left piece, it rotated on the wall to face either left or right. So did the right hand piece, come to that. They could both be left-facing, or both be right-facing, OR (as intended) one of each. My partner was also curious to know why I'd made TWO end pieces instead of only one which could be placed either end of the arch.
Yes, instead of labouring intensely over the right-hand piece to ensure it matched the left hand piece perfectly, ANYONE here could have told me that there was NO NEED for a right-hand piece at all, because the left-hand piece could be BOTH ends!
You all knew that, didn't you! Oh yes you did, and that's why you're all pointing and laughing!! You've ALL used doors in the game and rotated them to face left or right, so of course you knew.
(Come to think of it, so did I)
Happy Thoughts
I'm so glad to have this small personal web site on TSR! I was so happy these days that I didn't do any "work", I mean, I didn't make any new content. But today I can announce that my second Sim for submission is finished and that it'll be here soon. I hope you'll like her and use in your game with pleasure. She is an adventrous female SIM with elven features, daring and resourceful. I wanted to make a fantasy Sim and here she is!
