Well Here We Go Then...
Well I have started. I have recoloured BBS living room set. Really lovely set to recolour actually, the bowl is a real work of art - masterfully done and it made it very easy to recolour (frankly I prefer the vase that BBS did :P) lol. I also used MangoSims curtain mesh (I love these!).Well here is a preview of the set, I have uploaded it and it should be ready on the 19th - enjoy! Oh yeah and by the way the lovely wooden wall was done by around the sims as was the brown potted plant. The one on the table is of course by BetterBeSim. The glass of wine and book is by SimGedoehns. Enjoy!

Spring is on it's way!
It's only January, but Spring is on its way already, because to get us all out of the winterblues, I am doing a fresh green recolor of the Arcadia set.No pictures yet, but I tell you, you will think Spring! when you see this set! And ehh.. there are tulips in it ofcourse. Me being Dutch and all, I had to do some tulips sooner or later :)
After this set, what's next? A kitchen? A bathroom? I am not sure yet, but my hands are itching to make some new meshes.
Busy Bee
Gosh it is quite hectic here in the Shakeshaft camp this week, busy creating new lots like 3 Holly Drive a family home with 4 bedrooms on a small lot, a set of very colourful contemporary art prints in Pastels ans some new wall sets of Fieldstone in various shades.
Grizzelda
On Monday, January 16th, my recolor creations of Grizzelda's new teen mesh will be published. I'd like to recognize Grizzelda for adding awesome mesh options to the Sims2 game. She is very talented and rates right up there with all the other FA's who's meshes I often use for my Creations... Dr. Pixel, NeptuneSuzy, and for those I haven't used yet but will be in the near future, ChazDesigns, and Sunair...hope I didn't leave any great talent out.Happy Simming!
I will be good...Honest!
I am in the process of recolouring BetterBeSims absolutely lovely Contempo room set, when suddenly I had a brainwave! I should do a furnishing for a house in the same neutral tones. A man's house. A postmodern man's house. So this is my little promise to you. I will be good. I will finish this set. Just to get the ol' juices flowing, below are the textures I plan to use. So go on. Get BetterBeSims living room as that will be the first I recolour! BetterBeSim's Contempo Sethugs, Nancy.
Hoorah!
Special hugs to Per who has now enabled external linking (mmmmmm Per hugs)! And just to celebrate I have uploaded the Cabana set I teased you with last week. Things have just been mental at work and I come home weary and tired - longing for a lovely glass of wine and propping my feet up on the deck in the fading sunlight. So sadly I haven't been recolouring. However for your edification (I love using words that are no longer in the common vernacular - words kind of like well er um like vernacular :P ), I have made a new mesh. E-gads! I know... a little outrageous but really only one mesh. A sushi platter - so enjoy!
Tip Of The Day
So, you make objects? In which case, you generally clone something that BEHAVES roughly in the same way you want your finished object to behave. Therefore, if you wanted to make a decorative, static object, you would pick a decorative, static object to clone from the game. And if you wanted to make an outdoor object, you would probably clone a handy outdoor object with the same set of behaviours...
DO bear this in mind when selecting the humble garden gnome as your base object.
(unless you want one of your pesky, light-fingered Sim neighbours trotting off up the road with your shiny new object!)
Making new fences
I'm in the process of making a whole new collection of fences for the game. Got a dozen already :). My January calendar is full, mostly with oriental stuff. This set will probably go up in February.*Edit* Can't wait that long! I'm moving this set to be published on January 15! Want to see how they will go. If people like fences, I will make more.
Work in progress
I've got oriental fever, lol! There are several oriental decor sets that are coming up towards the end of January. Including some shoji doors and windows. You can preview most of them at my calendar already.Japanese bronchitis
Not another version of bird 'flu! The 'flu has led to bronchitis for me, so I'm coughing all over the screens at the mo' - oh well!I've enjoyed starting to work on the Orient Express theme, and have added a small set of Japanese villas with pagodas - more to follow. They're all for the base version of the game - so you won't need EPs to use them.
I'll also aim to add a community lot for the theme.
I'm So Bad!
I'm so bad about not updating my blog. I'm just as bad about not writing or calling friends and family.I will try to get better. I've been trying to come up with ideas for dressers that don't look like dressers. That's when the coat rack and luggage originated. If you have any ideas, let me know. Hope you are having a wonderful 2006. Debra
CSH Decontract set
Most of you seem to have problem finding the mesh (MESH_SimChicFullBodyBootcut5-05-05) for this set, though it's not so difficult to obtain for FREE. I admit you have to dig a bit to get it if you don't want to pay membership to SimChic.com, but it's worth it 'cause this mesh is incredibly great and looks marvelous in the game...All you have to do is go to all-about-style.com : just download the skin placed in ADULT SECTION, page 3, named "Ethnic Cami". The mesh is included for free with the skin in the zip. And now, long live boot cut pants with heels !
Here is again the direct link : http://www.all-about-style.com/adult_feca3.html
Hope you'll manage ^^
Sims Resource Problems
My apologies... I am trying to get TSR to enable external links - but with no luck. I promise to update when this is sorted. :(thanks
Nancy
Oops! Accident!
Krigshot74 wondered if I could make a prettier version of the basic Maxis car...
As is my style of late, I've made it utterly unusable, ripped off the wheels, smashed the glass, put a few dents in the roof and hood - oh and burnt it a bit.
I don't think I'll be releasing it separately, but if you would like this limousine gracing your palatial lawns, it will come as part of my "Boston's Garage" (residential) lot being released on 13 January.

Wow! Thanks again!!!
Lowering the tone
Yep - the junk set is out. Cyclonesue lowers the tone of the Sims community one step further with filthy toilets et al. You'll find it here (oh, and as usual, THAT is an order!). I expect Maxis is really pleased to see what creative things we will do with their game. Chortle! Rating: 10 stars 5 stars 0 stars Wow! Thanks! :-)Howdy!
Hey everyone, as usual old man winter has us working very hard at the hospital, I'll be sure to finish up a few things here soon! Sorry there hasn't been anything new and exciting lately!-GamerG
Sugar and Spice
It would appear that Christmas has gone to my head, given the names of my next two submissions! May I introduce you to The Sugarcube and Cinnamon Court:
Thanks
I know there are several comments on my creations--and I haven't been able to read them. Sorry! I like to respond to everyone who leaves me a comment, but I haven't been able to since mid-December. Thanks to all who have downloaded my stuff and have left comments--hopefully I'll get to read them and respond to them very soon! The Cyclonesue Apology Forum
Yes, that is what I'm going to ask TSR to name my blog. Except it wouldn't be a forum because no-one has chance to answer back here. That's the way I like it. I'll make my pathetic excuses and then assure myself that no-one is the slightest bit upset, losing patience etc.So, ANOTHER apology!
That set, glorified on the TSR front page today. Urban Renewal with EVERYTHING already in it! And you've been trying to download it - except you can't. You see: TSR haven't yet had the time to build the functionality for uber-sets that contain lots, sub sets and all that. And TSR explained this yesterday AFTER I'd already put the set up for release (my fault, because I never even asked about this concept until AFTER I'd put up the set).
So, once again, I am sorry. I must sound like a cracked record (or just cracked) with all these 'sorry' notes. And no, I'm NOT displaying some horrendous antiquity by mentioning 'records' either, but 'cracked CD' doesn't have the same ring to it and, in any case, a cracked CD doesn't have the same repeat-a-few-words affect either; it just jitters through an entire section at incredible speed and is therefore a redundant...[snip]
Back to the point. You know what is the MOST bizarre thing about me putting out that big set? Some of the things inside it are not yet released! The series comes to its natural conclusion on 9th or 10th January - unless I can bleed it dry of any other urban tat I can think of adding, that is.
Some people shouldn't be allowed near a TSR submission form!
Sheer curtains in single tile version
Hi, Remember this "Sheer Curtains" set?
You might have downloaded this set some time ago, and wished there also was a single-tile version.
Someone requested this last week, and I also noticed the need for it myself while decorating a room. So, I converted the mesh into a single tile version.
A complete set will be available next week, all matching the original ones in color and pattern. I hope you will enjoy this version as much as most of you did the two-tile version.
Welcome
Hello all, and welcome to my blog. I'll be using this space to keep everyone up-to-date with the Sims1 creations I'm working on for TSR. I had 5 holiday-themed skins that were just posted, based on Barbie dolls. I also have 2 heads that are waiting to be published -- actress Vanessa Marcil and actor Tyler Christopher.I'm currently working on more items from the Fashion Fever collection of Barbie dolls. As I get them completed, I will be posting preview pics here.
Thanks for visiting my mini-site!!
Back home from a nice new year celebration. Well I have been home for a couple of days and I have bee struggling with a tub. Everything that can go wrong with an object has gone wrong, but finaly it seems to work. I have some shadows to fix and perhaps some more decorative objects to make before its time to submit the set, but it is getting closer!
Take one SIMPLE process, and what will Cyclonesue do with it?
The TSR submission form. It's not rocket science really. And if any of you have tried the Batch Edit form, you'll know that it's wonderfully easy to edit an entire set at once.I wanted to upload 6 wallpapers for my 'Elevator Construction Kit. By the way, if you've downloaded this set already, you were no doubt cursing me earlier. You see, there are six submission forms before me - one for each wallpaper. So, the first one I called "Elevator Panelling" (that was the black paper with a border), then I called the next one "Elevator Panelling" (that was a steel paper - no border). And I added all 6 wallpapers industriously, calling each and every one "Elevator Panelling".
I have NO idea why I did that. When all 6 papers are on the same submission form, there is NO excuse for giving each one the SAME NAME!
So, downloaders everywhere are being vexed by being asked if the next wallpaer should overwrite the last. Thanks to Shakeshaft who risked my furious wrath by telling me about this, I have corrected the problem.
Sorry - again.
Oh, my hat!
Cyclonesue has done it again! In my very first set of Urban Renewal signs and posters (remember that far back? I know, there have been MILLIONS since then), there was a 'hard hat' warning poster.
Unfortunately, there was the tiniest problem with it. It, erm, didn't show up in the game. I borked one of the internal files. You wouldn't think I could do that, given that the internal files did NOT need touching!
Anyway, my apologies if you downloaded and failed to reap the benefits of this, er, majestic poster. You can redownload it from here. That is an ORDER, by the way!
Recovering from 'flu
Oh well - best intentions, etc!!! My plans for writing tutorials on thatched roofs and spaceships were scuppered the day after Christmas, when 'flu (non-Bird) hit us hard. Today is my first day back online.I was really taken aback, returning to TSR, to read so many wonderfully kind wishes in my Guestbook - thank you and please be patient while I reply!
Many Thanks
I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for their kind and generous comments, and for the warm welcome everyone has given me, lets all have a great 2006.And my last laugh (now Windkeeper's last laugh)...
Check out the junk picture two blog entries ago. See the grass I made?THAT is unusable too!!! Sims will NOT walk through it. What a hoot! So, I shall include unusable grass with the unusable junk!
Ha ha ha, ha ha HA, HA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Umph.....
[Enter Windkeeper - with a fix]
Okay, so my grass now works. A BIG, HUGE thanks to Windkeeper (who actually KNOWS how to make things; me, I just guess). Anyway, your Sims can stand pointlessly all day in my bad weed if they so wish...
Trust me when I say Bitzybus and SimAddict99 have made MUCH better grasses - go check their profiles. Simaddict's grass is pictured in the 'board' entry immediately below this. MY grass is the bad stuff in the junk picture in the entry below THAT entry.
Anyway, this veritable weed will still be uploaded with my non-working junk. I do warn you that Windkeeper's magic has NOT been woven on that disgusting toilet. It is too far gone. My wrecking saw to that.
Are you 'board' of urban renewal yet?
Yes, bad joke (but you have to admit I've made bad jokes into an art form), but I expect you ARE already bored with yet more "Urban Renewal" sets... Well, never mind. Can't be helped. You see, I'm NOT bored of it yet, and so I have made some boarded windows for your lots. They're cloned curtains and so can be placed easily over any window (or wall) and work on diagonals too.
And it was NO joke!
I wonder if you really did think I was joking about unusable objects? One or two people have written to say they think it's a wonderful idea (thanks - chuffed!), so I'm not the only one with such hair-brained ideas. But no, I wasn't joking. I was deadly serious! I bring you the Unusable Collection Of Junk...
New upload!
After having problems using the new submissions system in Firefox, I've had to resort to uploading using IE *grumbles*.The good news though, is that there IS a new lot on the way. The Sheridan is a modern, suburban house for your sims, which will be released on the 5th Jan. I hope you like it!
Log bathroom
I finally finished the log bathroom :) the mesh set will be published this Thursday, Jan 5 (preview at left). The recolors to match my Rustic and Denim Log room sets will follow in a few days.Teen Graci
Teen graci for those who wanted the teen version sorry it's late.Prepare to be AMAZED! Again.
I had an idea. Unusable objects! How about that?! There - I'm most proud of it. As far as I can tell, no-one else here is in a huge rush to make unusable objects, so I feel as though I've hit upon an untapped goldmine. My first unusable object is an unusable toilet. I've removed the cistern and seat (the Cyclonesue School of DIY) and dirtied it up a bit - oh, and nudged it into a peculiar unusable angle. [insert applause and admiration here]
Welcome!
January 02, 2006.This year is starting out great. Sure am glad I ate those black eyed peas, turnip greens and ham.
I have big plans for new creations this year. Hope you like! Don't be a stranger, drop me a line!
Debra
Bentform Nursery
Well, I once again have home internet (yay!) and am slogging away on completing the Bentform Nursery. So far a toddler bed, change table, potty, and toybox are essentially complete (just have to fix their wall shadows) and I'm cursing my way through getting a working high chair done. I also need to do a baby crib still. Hopefully I'll manage to get things finished for release the second week in January, if not earlier.Me an FA
Gosh this was a surprise, I hope I will not disappoint anyone with my creations, at the moment I am doing a series of small family homes in Holly Drive, also I have some Wallpaper Sets to come and some more Hed Khandi Prints.Hello!
Well, I guess it's time I made use of this little corner of my minisite. :D No one in my family seems to understand my Sims addiction. I told them that if it was just a game, it wouldn't be so bad. But it gives me such a creative outlet that I could be involved with it for the rest of my life and be happy. Since I started actually playing the game, I've learned a thing or two about building houses. I'm thinking about uploading the house from my legacy challenge (The Life of the Goldmans - check it out in the challenge forums).
But right now, my current projects are some dining rooms. So here goes a little preview. :D
This is the Malibu Dining collection:
As you can see, it still needs a little work ... what with the floating side table and all. I'll be doing a few recolors of it, so if you have any suggestions, let me know. :D
This is the Edgewater Dining collection ... I only have MilkShape previews of it:
Beach, Sun and Surf...
While a lot of you are trudging along through sleet and snow - on my side of the world it is lovely and warm!
It's really hard to think about creating winter woolies and cosy furniture when the sun is blazing and the cat, a nice glass of sav and a good book are calling you outside to sit on the deck.
Given that, I couldn't resist these colours! And yes I know green again! Bright and bold - like that fantastic fabric you get on deck chairs. This will be the last I do of this set - I hope you enjoy it.
