TSR Goes to the EA Screening of Seasons!

Seeding clouds....Cutting Out Snowflakes.....Setting World Thermostat.....

That's Right! New loading-screen words means a new expansion pack: Seasons is coming! The long awaited Seasons Expansion Pack is almost here. I had just a precious few hours to look at the expansion and play a bit with the new features.

As I turned on the computer in anticipation of clicking “Play Sims 3” I was just thinking how cool this new expansion was going to be. I said to myself "Now Now - keep this excitement down lest you be disappointed". I had nothing what-so-ever to be scared of as this little simmer had wide eyes and smiles as soon as that game loaded up and I had a chance to look around. This has got to be the best expansion pack to date from our friends at EA. So what kind of goodies do we have to look forward to? Well, along with what you have heard and seen already, there are even MORE goodies…

Of course the season change is the most excellent change. You can control your seasons in the game’s options – such as turning off a season or two or set how many days a season will last. There will be some new skills like snowboarding and ice skating. That's right - They can ice skate – even on larger ponds. The "lake" freezes over and they can skate on it. There is a ‘Holiday’ for each season and we saw a demonstration of the "Gift" day for winter.

Winter time brings a new clothing option for outdoor wear. You choose the outdoor wear in CAS and they automatically change into that for the winter. Of course, any Sims that forgets may freeze to death. Yes they can freeze to death without the proper clothing. Oh and mistletoe! Yes mistletoe for all those love-birds or wannabe love birds. But nothing can beat the snowmen. They are hilarious. You can choose from several designs for your Sim to do. Building Snowmen is interactive so your Sims can get together to play in the snow.

Summer brings summer games such as horseshoe throwing. Each season has something new to do. Seasonal changes bring changes to leaves, shifts in weather etc. You also will have the ability in the options to "tone down" the weather. There are options to tick off and on for hail and rain, among others.

There are a few new hairstyles and loads of new clothing. This simmer got a kick out of the long johns! Made me laugh out loud....They have added a new feature to the work tab as in circling in red if you are missing school or work. Hard to miss if you are trying to skip your responsibilities!

And great news for those who missed them - aliens are making a return, yes! And men can bear the burden of childbirth once again!

EA has brought our Sims into the new millennium with this expansion. Yes they have raised their heads long enough from our demands to notice the real world....Our Sims will be able to online date! That's right, a screen pops up of the available single Sims and they can choose whom they think will be the next **cough** love of their life. The photo booths are one of my fave features. Each season festival will have new photo booth interactions. The Sim can get in the booth and take a portrait. clicking on that portrait in their inventory you can see it and have the option to Facebook it or twitter it as a greeting card. The photo has the particular season's background on the portrait. Of course if Twitter or Facebook are not your thing you can always hang on your Sims wall. Unfortunately we couldn't get a print screen so I could show you....So you'll have to buy seasons to see! ;O)

Just when you thought of every possible way to make your simmies’ lives a mess, EA has come up with more. They will now be able to get sick. I mean sick sick, The Flu being one. But no worries! You can go to the local hospital for a flu shot.

As I droll on here you may be interested in the new lifetime rewards. Yes they added quite a few. Some include The Cloudenator for 30,000, Immune to Heat for 10,000, Immune to Cold for 10,000, All Weather Champion (which makes you super great at all seasonal activities) for 10,000, Simmunity (yes super immune system) for 7500, Festival Frequenter (Able to earn more festival tickets) , and Competitive Eater for 5,000. 2 new traits Loves Cold and Loves Heat have also been added in CAS.

All in all I think we are all going to get a treat. The only disappointment? Having to come home and play a non-Season's game!

First Time

I have just started The Sims Resource. I don't have a lot to talk about, but I'll figure it out.  I am a California teenager, who has a big dream.  I love to write and present movies.  I have been trying to get my new series ready, but it has taken me forever.  I first fell in love with the sims when I was thirteen.  I then figured out you can make movies with The Sims 2.  I had a great idea for a series, and now I have been working on it since.  The series I have been working on is NEON.  I have more to come, like, SCREAMAGERS, BEING 13, MONSTER, ARTIFICAL TEARS, and bunch more.  I don't care about the views, but finishing a production has been one of my ultimate dreams.  Most of my series are based on true events, that have happened to me, or people I know.  I also have another goal.  I want to be famous.  Not like, Hollywood famous, but I want to be known.  I want to feel important, unlike my life right now.  I want to be famous on Youtube, and be loved for who I am.  I never feel like I fit in, but I always try to keep a smile on my face.  When I make or write productions, it makes me feel better than usual.  It makes me relax and concentrate on what I love to do.  

I have written ten series.  I haven't gotten to the end of any of them, and they are really dramatic.  Neon, is based on my life story is my first one.  I feel like I need to share my life story with other people, so they can understand, that life is hard, but you can work through it.  I know other people have problems, and no one cares.  I feel like I should show them in a movie, or series, on how it can effect someone.  Life, it's hard, but everyone can be strong and go through it.  I have had the thoughts of suicide, cutting, I have been anerexic, bulimic, etc.  I feel that I have wasted my life on the worst sides of it.  I then realized, that there are good times, and bad.  My point is, never do anything you are going to regret.  Look at life, tell it to move out, because you are yourself, and life can't put you down.  

My name is Tarastarr Levine, and I am strong.  I have been through hard trials, but that makes me who I am.  My dream is to be a Youtube star, and to make series, based on trials, everyone has.  I know no one is going to read this, but I believe no matter what size you are, if you have a boyfriend or not, short or tall, pretty or not, you are who you are, and no one can change you, only you can.  You can have dreams, and no one can stop you.  I'm Tarastarr, and I am a dreamer.

For all who have been reading my new legacy The Diary Legacy, just to let all know I am still working on chapter 3 and it will be out real soon. I guess I just had a bit of writers block, but now I got something I'm working on and chapter 3 will be out real soon. So don't think I've given up on the story, I haven't, I'm wanting to see this story through and finish it. So please stay tuned for chapter 3 and thanks for reading. wishing i had the skillz

 I love this site, so creative with awesome sim creators, sadly i wish i could make stuff also but unfortunely a) the programs you can make teh stuff in hates my laptop and b) the one time i used it on another friends comp i realized i had no freaking skills with it. i spent an hour trying to do on simple thing and nada... yeah... i'm giving up. also my friend started getting annoyed and wanted there computer back.. ah well at leats i can still play sims3 on my own laptop even if loading times are sad. note to self... next laptop needs better graphics/memory

Getting back into my groove!!

So I have had alot of new trials and tribulations with the new screenshot requirements. First they were blurry.. and then I started taking prtscreen shots and then cropping and fitting to the template dimensions.. this caused some ofthem to look s t r e t c h e d out LOL. ARGH. Finally this weekend I remembered some things I used to do. So now I have added a border around them.. that way there is no stretching. 

I have a tonne of lots out and new ones coming out. I think that will be enough of the lots for awhile. Moving on to more re coloring. Have some great ideas for Maxi items and also custom content.

So Happy Monday ( yeah right!) and Of course Happy Simming!

I could never figure out how to use TSR workshop for Sims 3 clothing, so I decided to redownload mostly all of the Sims 2 games... && started using the bobyshop today. I have to say... it's definitely easier than the workshop lol. :)x

I think I may like being a designer... kinda a designer, anyway haha. XD

Hello everyone ..

As you may or may not know, i had Laptop issues a few weeks ago and had to take a break from TSR, whilst i went away on holiday and also take the time to get my new Laptop up and running.

My Laptop is now working & my wall and templates have been recreated once again.

New templates have been created & new colour pallettes to.

I will be submitting my walls and floors to TSR in due course so watch this space.

Where did you get that Hair?!

A constant question on TSR is “where did you get that hair?”. Since most of us have 1000s of downloads and it would take a long time to hunt down that exact style, I have decide to post my top hairstyle sources.  A quick glance at my downloads tells me that most are from: TSR (Newsea an obvious favorite), Peggyzone.com, Coolsims.net, and Raonsims.com. For all those looking for hairstyles, I hope this helps.

First Chapter submitted.

  Finally.....just got done with the first chapter upload. It's not all that long but i have a lot of story to tell in a limited amount of space. So i have to cut it down and get rid of what's not so important to the plot line. For my first story, I am pretty happy with myself. Got some good feedback. Hope it all goes well.

Year Of The DOMINO.

  So I have decided that I will keep up a blog about my story, and about life, and about how art may imitate life. Needless to say....who knows if anyone is actually reading. None the less, onward I go.

  As for my story, Domino L.O.V.E, I have to say I am pretty impressed with my own skills. I think I created the perfect characters. Characters who are unfalingly human to the core. People who you will fall in love with, hate, root for...etc. The plot to this story runs deep, and there are so many ways I can take it. I just hope people will read it. As well, I also hope that it will touch people with a similar story. As I sit and imagine my made up world I am compelled to tell people that sories like mine are not always so made up. I know people who know people that have gone through this sort of thing. I won't give anything away, but i will say i am doing the whole of the story in three 'books". In the end I am going to put a twist like every good story should have. I have the first three chapters of the first book written just have to get the pictures done to go with, and that my fine readers will be all i say of that.

  As for myself, life goes by so swiftly. Tomorrow is today and next year is now. Too bad I can't really slow it down. Take the time to REALLY enjoy the beautiful things in life. Me and my "husband" are expecting in May. For those of you who don't know, I call him my "husband" since I am not legally allowed to get married. We are expecting in May, our surrogate is pregnant. EXCITMENT ENTERED HERE. We are both excited really....couldn't be happier. Hopefully I get all three books done before the baby gets here. Or I fear I will start to slack. We are also renovating our house. It's coming along beautifully, more than I ever expected. What can i say, Im happy because I am a perfectionist. Yes you can always have it your way, not just at McDonalds.

  Well I do believe that is enough for now. I have blabbed on for far too long, thus I must stop now. Updates soon, as well as more chapters. Hope you enjoy them, if you are reading this.

Problems installing Goth Mansion

Hi there ! I would just like to know if someone is having trouble installing my Goth Mansion ? Please answer if you are in that situation ! =S

I reported the house so the TSR staff can take a look at it, and it seems that there is no problem with the house... So I am very sorry for the people who can't install it =S

LOT PLACEMENT for Beachfront Rise Reimagined + UPCOMING REQUEST LOT SNEAK PEEK!

First of all, I am glad to see that many of you like the Beachfront Rise Reimagined lot! It makes me so happy and makes all the time spent on building it worth it!

Now some of you have been asking where to place it. It should only be placed at 64 OCEANVIEW in STARLIGHT SHORES, which came with the SHOWTIME EXPANSION PACK. I also wrote this down in the NOTES section of the download page, so please take the time to read the NOTES section before asking where to place it, as I wrote it there for that exact reason. I don't have the time to always go through the comments, so I wrote it there for those who don't know where to place it.

Here is a checklist for those having issues with lots:

• Make sure your game is UPDATED TO THE LATEST PATCH. This can be done through the game launcher.
• TRY RE-DOWNLOADING THE LOT.
• Beachfront Rise Reimagined and The Jala are both HUGE lots, so placing them in the neighborhood WILL TAKE A LONG TIME, EVEN IN FAST COMPUTERS/LAPTOPS. It is not unusual for it to spend around 30 MINUTES to 1 HOUR for it to be placed successfully, so patience is a virtue in this situation.
• To maximize gameplay speeds/rendering times, put your game settings at the minimum, or somewhere near the minimum. But if your computer can handle it, why not use the high settings?

 As much as i would love to make houses full of elevation cheats etc.. they are horrible for game play. I try to keep mine easy to play because really thats what its all about right? lol.. playing the game. And the last thing someone wants is a home full of toddlers with ten different levels where they have to constantly rotate the camera to find everything .

So i dont think my future in creating lots for Sims 2 or even Sims3 will include crazy lots that are difficult to play!. I would love to make complex houses but again it is about game play and i keep the user in mind. If i am annoyed at a house a family is in .. then so will others be.

My Daughter - Creator PRINCESS MOO MOO

Pretty good for a 10 yr old I would say. Now she is 14 and in 9th grade and playings Sims2 and 3 and she said to me last night.."Mom would you show me how to recolor again? I have forgotten" I said SURE WILL. 

I think she would be absolutely fantastic NOW.. as a teen. She will be 15 in a few short months. So check out her stuff and I will keep you all posted if she creates and uploads! I think she would do well at clothing and hair.. that is her fave stuff to download .

Fixed Screenshots

So I have been tinkering with my screenshots.. and have now opted to capture pics via Prnt Screen then take pics and then crop  and set to 4:3 ratio . No other editing. My latest house waiting for approval MFG NL STARTER #10 shows this new screenshot. Hopefully it is better and clearerl 

Of course potential downloaders of my homes.. please remember that despite the less than super clear screenshots the houses do look terrific IN GAME. 

UGH.

Also I have noticed that pics i am taking of re-colors are not even ending up in my Storytelling Folder. WTH? so many obstacles! egads! LOL

Ihave given myself a flipping headache LOL. I think the best idea for me is to stop uploading until I totally sort this garbage out with my screenshots. BECAUSE after I have totally got it down I must contact staff to see if I can Re Submit better screenshots of my newest Nightlife houses. Like I wrote in another blog post.. I am really picky and it drives me WONKY that my pics look fuzzy and distorted. It really takes away from the hard work i have put into creating the house :(

The A-Lister Series: BEACHFRONT RISE REIMAGINED is finally DONE!

After a month of building this huge (although not as huge as The Jala) beach house, it is finally DONE! Here is a preview of what you can expect!

AAAAAND! It is SEASONS READY! Relax by the beach during the summer, and imagine the wonderful trees turn into autumn colors!

I'm just finalizing the front portion of the home and then do some more routing tests, and then IT IS FINISHED!

My poor quality Screenshots.

I am saddened that my homes dont look that hot in my pics. The reason being that my video card is on a laptop. There is a huge quality difference from my older homes in 2009 and NOW and that is because my old desktop had a top of the line Video card in it.. my new laptop has a good video card but nothing compared to my old desktop. I cant install a new vid card on a laptop .. so i tried to buy one that had a good enough card. I am so picky when it comes to screenshots :( The good news is that TSR feels they are good enough to publish :) and of course if people download my homes or other creations and have a good vid card on their pc.. they will look awesome in game. 

What I look like!

It is always interesting to see what People look like and here at TSR there is Anonymity thru the use of nicknames and avatars.

So for my fans who like my creations.. I have decided I will post a pic of me. :) My real name is Jackie and I live in Canada. I am 42 yrs young and mother of 4 kids. My boys are 20 and 19, my girls 16 and 14. I am married and am a pseudo mom to a  7 yr old black flat coated retreiver named Maggie. 

New Stuff coming out in the next week!

Now that I have had my first house in 3 yrs published and have getting these screenshot requirements down .. I have 7 new houses approved and ready to be published from the 25th OCT thru to the 29th. A couple are regular houses and the rest STARTER homes under 20,000 Simoleans. I tried my best to make them pleasing to the eye and functional. A few I was able to included bathroom stuff and kitchen appliances.. some i just couldnt do it within the budget LOL.

All of my house for the most part since i began created are with the game in mind. I like logical lay outs with easy game play in mind.. with room for decorating. I am not into Fantasy houses .. I am a realist LOL so you will never see far out houses from me. Maybe i am just boring LOL.

My dream career when i was a kid was to be an Architect.. however I was neither good at Math or Art so now I own a cleaning business but take great joy in creating Sim houses. 

As well I have quite a few different re-colors sitting in my own downloads folder waiting to have pics taken in game and uploaded as submissions. Perhaps i will get to that this week... I am hoping to. I have just being doing simple recolors for now as I practice and get used to re-coloring again. I suspect long before Xmas i will be back to complex CC meshes and recolors.. and if Real Life treats me well.. even start making houses etc for Sims 3.

I do have some pressing issues in Real Life that i must prepare for though... such as a xmas vacation to Cuba in Early Dec that I am not prepared for yet .. but must take the time to do so! LOL. Always a good idea if i have all my ducks in a row before I leave the country!

So i look forward to feedback from the Sims Community on my lots .. and of course other content that will be coming out. 

A goal for the new year ( amongst the usual each yr of really quitting smoking for good finally this time and really losing that extra 10 lbs hahaha) is to learn how to make my own 3D meshes. And clothing.. i never did learn these and am determined to do so. I have so many ideas in my head!!

Ok so i'm playing sims having a blast, When all of a sudden my computer breaks down. WTF! I call someone to take a look at it. And do you know what they say? They said: ''This computers broken all right, i could fix it but i recommend just getting a new computer. with the amount of money it's gonna cost ya i'd say get a new one.'' Like really? GEt a new one? My momma aint gonna buy me a new one. SO i ask her, she says yes suprisingly. BUT SHE SAID I CANT GET IT INTILL JANUARY! Thats gonna take forever. Now i'm on a cheap diamond 2400 computer with the ugliest monitor and this mouse is so hard to move. Give me back my custimed computer and working butterfly mouse!!!! The worse part is i cant play sims on this pieace of crap! This computer is so slow, it's frezzingup as i write. I cant create clothes, play my game. I HAVE TO DO NOTHING SIMS LIKE FOR 3 MONTHS! well 2 months and a few days. I can't even get on facebook and play sims social with this thing. I cant even get on my school webstie to complete the homework my stupid math teacher gave me! IT's a good thing shes my 8th pierod, then i wont have to see her face. I am dying here. GIVE ME BACK MY SIMS!!

RED!!

So Taylor Swift released her new album RED, and it's amazing!!!! It was first availible in Denmark yesterday, so i got it yesterday xD and i simply love it. 

I'm so exited for Enchanted Wonderstruck, which hasn't come to Denmark yet :(

ARGHGHGHGH!!! In SEVEN days i can order my Breaking Dawn part 2 tickets!!! I'm going to TwiNight, so it's a marathon with all 5 movies!! I'm so exited, it seems like forever before the 14th!

The World...

The World is geting done. I final got the Steel age Tower, The staduim, hospital and lab, cityhall, market, the fire station, department store (Which is the Bath & Book from Late Night), Dome over the outside pool, some subway stations, a library, a criminal wearhouse, a laundromat, and one more apartment buildings all done. But the place is still looking like a town and not a city. I think it has to do with the hight of the buildings.

Oh, before I do forget. Some of the very tall buildings have a glitch on them, but it only shows up when you are not on the lot. I have some pictures of the world, but not many of them yet. I will get more as the days go on.

Put first I need to find a way to post them. If anyone has a clue about puting pictures on the blog. Please comment and let me know, it would help a lot. Thanks for reading. Sorry about the Image being so large, but I don't know how to make it smaller.
