Offical, The Sims 2 hate my guts!

I think everyone runs into these problems in one point or another in their simming life. I have all the EXP. except for Apartment. I just reinstalled all of them, because I had stopped playing awhile ago. Of course the first thing I do it proceed to DL custom content, since I cannot live without it. I DL'ed about 1k of it. And wow lookit thtat it don't work. It never goes to the lots, it gets stuck on the loading screen. This has happened to me in the past, but has never been resolved x_x I tried everything I could think of to fix it so I didn't have to delete all the stuff. But to alas I did not fix it, and ended up deleting all my custom furniture, resorting only too custom sims straight from the sim2 main site. Now even when I do DL custom furni and such and it LOADS, the custom content won't even show up. I love it haha! Right now I'm going to 'attempt' to DL new furiniture and see if it will like me this time~

My advice is to put downloads into your game in small batches - perhaps five or ten things at a time at most - and testing them out before adding more goodies. That way, if you get a bum item or are missing a mesh you didn't know you needed, it's a lot easier to find what's causing the problem and remove it.
I haven't had problems with the downloads on TSR except for one or two cases where it seems I needed an EP, SP, or mesh that wasn't mentioned. Others sites I've found very safe include: Mod the Sims 2, Around the Sims 2, Simlogical, Parsimonious, Liana Sims 2...well, that should help you get started, at any rate. Just be sure to check carefully for content requirements and add in very small batches. It's hard to be patient, I know, but it saves no end of trouble in the longrun.

Hi Cupcakes, I used to have terrible trouble with my computer loading when I'd just put alot of new d/loads in. I tried adding a few each time I played the sims, that way it wasn't 'system overload' for my computer. I used to have about 15,000 files of d/loads in the game and that doesn't include the application files but have since taken many out for a pronto loading time. (I can by quite impatient $\:mad\:$ ) But it is annoying not being able to have all the downloads in the game at once. Also at one stage when I put some new d/loads in and I loaded the game up they would appear to be blue! $\:mad\:$   Very annoying, so I would have to shut the game down and load it up again, then the downloads were back to normal. $\:wacko\:$ But you've probably tried the whole 'shut down & restart' thing. I wish you the best of luck on this and wish I could offer you a better solution. $\:confused\:$ $\:\)$
