The Sims 3 or The Sims 2!?

Hi everybody, I currently play and create for the Sims 2 only. For a while I have been thinking about getting the Sims 3, but from what I've heard it's really not much different from the Sims 2. It's a little annoying to have bought all these Sims 2 expansion packs and then let them totally go to waste. I'm not sure if the Sims 3 is actually worth the $60.00 bucks it's being sold at.

What do you guys think? Sims 3 or Sims 2?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

I did get the sims 3, but much prefer sims 2, it is awesome, but I would not like to say don't bother with sims 3, for you may really enjoy it, alot of people do love it, so if you can try it out, through a friend etc, I would do that then decide what you like the most $\;\)$ if you can't try it out, wait alittle longer until the price comes down and then give it ago $\:\)$  but hold onto your sims 2 because you may want to still play it sometimes, it is such a beautiful game, I have returned to my sims 2 and absolutely love it $\:\)$

I know what your going through. I only have Open For Business for an expansion pack and i only started to create for the Sims 2 last September.... I have looked at the fantastic lots that people create for The Sims 3 and wonder whether its worth the change, but at the moment i am enjoying creating for the Sims 2, people keep asking me "when am i going to come over to the dark side" lol but at the moment i am sticking with The Sims 2. If your comfortable with the Sims 2 then stick with it. I will "eventually" move to the Sims 3 but not at the moment. $\:\)$
