Getting used to this new layout
I still find it really slow, and it is bothering me that I don't see the "new arrivals" at once on front page. I used to download a lot of the featured stuff, and now it is somehow distracted.
I also tested the screenshot uploader, it works fine now, after the first problems. I don't understand the "published" dropdown option, though. Would you like to publish it now yes/no would be more logical.
The weather outside is frightful...
but sitting here with Sims is delightful!Let it snow , let it snow , let it snow........NOT!I am rather tired of winter and I am ready for spring to come. The one good thing about winter is that i am in the house .. pretty much all the time ( unless I am at work, on the way to work in the van, doing banking or shopping , or walking the doggie) i hate winter! I did take up downhill skiing about 5 years back thinking that that may increase my enjoyment of winter... but as it turns out I only like the snow when i am skiing and still hate it every other second! LOL And because i am in the house all the time.. i spend a large portion of that time on my pc.. creating for Sims2! Which ends up being a good thing!
Got some new stuff on the horizon.. some walls, more curtains, some twilight stuff.. ( you would think I am a fan of Twilight considering I have made a bunch of stuff .. but I am most certainly not! However my 12 yr old is and so I make it for her..:) Got another 2 lots coming out and working on more beddings. I still am working on that Bathroom wall and floor set.. STILL! LOL. The floor tiles take a while and requires painstaking accuracy.. so i work on a little bit at a time. ( as I havent had the patience to finish them all in one fell swoop).
Slowing Down and My Brace
Okay, my stories are coming on great but the only probelm is the new way you have to load them up. I know how to work it and everything but it's going to have to get some getting use to. I'm just letting you all know that it may take a little longer for me to get stories out, 'kay? Sorry, guys... :(
Also, some people are interested in seeing what my brace looks like and about my scoiliosis. Basically scoliosis is when the spine bends to one side a certains amount of degrees (lets say 50, 'cause that's my amount of degrees), in which affects your posture and appreance of back. My brace helps me to stay straight all the time. My brace looks a little something like this:
The only difference is mine doesn't have another layer of plastic on it and it has longer and more straps on it. Australian braces are different from the American ones, I forget how but I can always ask my mum if I have to. I like my brace though, I've even given it a name!xD It's name is Vanessa, weird huh?! Well for everyone in Australia, if you know All Saints star Georgie Parker, she had scoliosis and she named her brace Boris.
Well, that's it for this blog.
Keep Creating and Siming!!
Hidden Walls
In my latest Living Room set, the walls are invisible in version 7, although they show up just fine in version 6. I think this is because they have been sitting on the server for quite a while. I'm not sure what to do about it, so for now, you can see the walls in the preview of the set or go to v6 and look at them there. Sorry about that!
Still waiting on the ability to edit my mesh set (NK Cubist Dining) with the fixed end table. Will let you know when that happens. Sorry for the ickyness of it. The new version is much better. I also plan to update the bookcase a bit, but haven't had the chance to do it yet.
I have done all the thanking that I have seen in my comments and guestbook, so if I missed anyone it was because you inexplicably disappeared. But know that I appreciate all the comments and guestbook entries. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Various updates and fixes today
We've fixed many things behind the scenes, but some of the highlights so far today are:
- FA/SA no longer see ads (this is one of their privileges)
- Item ID is now displayed for each creation on the details page
- Set items are now hidden by default on the details page (to make it easier to see comments)
- Fixed broken download links on recommended and required items in both detail and browse view
- If you are logged in as a subscribeer, subscriber only items are no longer marked as Subscriber Only with a key icon
- Blog pods now update with the latest blog entry
- It is now more prominent when a creation has required items on the details page (title and link added in description)
- Search results (and suggestions) now show Sims 2 first instead of Sims 1
- Hitting the return key in Explorer when doing a search now works as intended in downloads browse view (didn't initiate search before)
We'll continue filling this list up tomorrow - enjoy! :)
TS3 Creator's Camp: Day 2, 20:00
This afternoon we had a quick trip over to the audio studios at EA for a Simlish session with vocal actor Nikki and Audio Guru Robi Kauker. I've been lucky enough to have several sessions in here in the past, recording some of my own Simlish which was recorded and rendered to Sim video, so I took a back seat to let the others have a try!
I couldn't resist grabbing some video of Nikki and her unmistakable laugh! Nikki does many of the kids voices in Sims 3 and the laugh she throws in to some animations is so childish and hilarious. Then you realise after chatting for a while that she actually talks and laughs just like that all the time! Raving mad!
We learned a few things about the music in the game which, by the way, is incredible. Some of the creators here this week have confessed to loading up the game and then quitting out and reloading just to hear the intro music again! Some of the build mode music is beautiful, and the new kids soundtracks had me giggling too loudly according to some!
Oh yea, what did we learn? Well, one claim to.. er.. 'fame'(?), from the audio team was turning down Mariah Carey for a Simlish track. The reason? She just didn't fit the University EP style! Paul McCartney was invited to perform in Sims 3. They're still awaiting his acceptance! It turns out that many artists actually approach EA to be in the game and are, contrary to popular belief, not actually paid that much for their performance. No… Really! (So we were told).
Here's my video of Nikki. See if you can tell the difference between her Simlish performance and her real voice/laugh.
More tomorrow!

My First Blog....
Hey,
Wow my first blog.... I'd stopped going on this site becasue I didn't like it but then I was bord so I thought 'I know the sims resource' and all I can say is wow. It was way different when I was last on and that was on my old account, it will take some getting used to I'll admit that ut it does look good. Never really been sure what a blog is for..... but heres my going on about nothing. I'll stop now.
Bye xxx
Thank you
Hi this is the first entry on my Blog. I thought I would let everyone know that this profile is shared by myself and my Godmother (Michelle). I am in China at the moment so my Godmother is writing this on my behalf. I would like to say a great big THANKS to Warrayfinson, without her help there would not be a banner (her advice was invaluable) also a huge thank you to all the artists who design and recolour especially my bookmarked artists. Also I would like to send my sincere thanks to the TSR staff.
CRIME STORY PART 5:Be My Baby...
A new chapter of my blog story 'CRIME STORY' is now posted. I appreciate that some of you are letting me know you are enjoying it! Do please leave a comment at the blog though, I would love it!
Crime Story is set in the 1960's, and I use a lot of downloads from right here at TSR, look in the 'Retro Theme' section. I have made a lot of signs for that era, you can find them there for download!
Also This story is a little more adult than can be posted here, but it is not too out there, LOL!
I would insert a couple of pictures, but I have no clue what I am doing. I feel totally lost, a voice in the wilderness with regard to stories here and how to post them. I may have to give a lot of thought to the fact if I will be continuing to post stories here at TSR. I will give it a few weeks to see if any bugs/glitches are addressed and make my decision then. Until then, I will not be uploading a story to TSR for a bit. I am still trying to figure out this V7!
Cheers and have a great rest of the month!~ LINK TO CRIME STORY:
