Normally I LIKE that I "never make the same house twice".....but I'm making an exception for THIS one. My Sims have been so ga ga for this house plan I wanted to share it with everyone else. Each will have the same floor plan just have different walls, floors, windows, furnishings, and decor.......but from an architectural stand point.....same house just different color schemes. 4 bed 3 bath with a NON-attached garage. It's been a hit in my game both with my Sims AND the head master.....I hope for the same in everyone else's.

This is the ROSE home I believe......The floor plan is the important part as there'll be 10 different ones to choose from. The yards may have different trees, different papers and floors, furnishings; all making it so that along with there being a variety of colors to choose from your sims will have a couple different prices to choose from as well.
ALL 10 are now up......hope everyone likes them.

I Hurt Myself
Yesterday was the Friends of the Library booksale. Being the it was bag day (2 bags for $5. All the books you can shove in there. Wheeee!), I dragged my kids across town to see what we could find. I can never resist cheap books, and being that I am a master bag-stuffer, I know I'll get my money's worth. (Gosh, that makes me sound cheap.)Anyway, I found out that they sell books by the box. You can go into their warehouse, point to a certain genre, pay $2 or $3 (depending on the size of box you want), and they will load them up in your car. You don't get to pick and choose what you get in these boxes, but who cares? Surprises are fun, right?
Being that my kids don't really want to look through rows and rows of books, I thought I'd get a few boxes of elementary fiction. I paid for my 4 LARGE boxes, and headed out to collect them. When I got there, I was informed that they were out of the large, so they'd double up on the small. No problem, right? Well, "small" wasn't very small at all. They hold 50+ books each. Now I have 9 "small" boxes of paperbacks.
After unloading boxes, sifting through each one, and then stacking them all up again, I've managed to hurt my right arm. My wrist, elbow, and shoulder are all in a huge amount of pain. I'm going to the doctor today to see if I've fractured my wrist... AGAIN. (It's never going to heal at this point.) I wanted to let everyone know that I will still be here uploading like a mad woman, but maybe not quite as much as I had been recently. I can only sit here for so long before I need to take something for the pain and rest the arm a bit.
Note to self: Next time bring the husband so he can unload boxes.

Victorian Doors and Windows
Inspired by my Victorian Porch Railing set, I've made my first-ever set of windows and doors. These are based on the mesh of the 'Symmetrical Poly-Molecular Matrix Window' from the base game, with changes, and use its textures. The stained glass textures are recolours of the standard height straight mesh in the set, and are shared by all the other meshes. The first set of doors and windows is due out tomorrow, and contains only single-tile meshes. It has three sizes of windows in both open and closed positions, as well as glass doors, solid doors, and archways both with and without transoms.
Want to create? Try the tutorials :)
Seems like learning to create stuff for the Sims is an evolving process. First you use the tools that came with the game (Homecrafter and Bodyshop). If you are like me, you stumble around a bit trying to figure out how to get that wallpaper to tile properly or matching up what part of a texture shows up just where in a piece of clothing. Then you move on to trying recolors. I did so with Wizards of Simpe, which is pretty easy to use and is good for doing basic recolors (like putting new images in wall hangings).
Then it's Simpe itself...and that's when I found things got complicated. If you are a Star Trek fan, remember the Pakleds, the race of simple-minded beings that "looked for things that make us go". They don't know how their technology works, they just want it to go.
That's me. I boot up a program and start blundering about with it. Eventually, I either give up or figure out how to make it do what I need.
Except, that didn't work too well with Simpe.
So I broke down and (gasp) read some tutorials. Not only that, I worked through the examples. Multiple times! Thanks to munchkin-brat, SimAddict99, Tlkaska, Xanathon and others, I finally managed to successfully clone and recolor some objects. Woohoo!
Now we will see if I can actually make some of the stuff I've had ideas for.
So, if you are wanting to improve your skills, check out the tutorials! They're great.

Andy has retired
After recovering from his illness Andy has chosen to retire from The Sims community to spend more time with his family. We wish him well and hope he'll enjoy his newfound life. Take care Andy!Sneak Peak...
I did tell you that I had a few projects I planned on finishing this month, so how am I doing on them? Well, the Urban lot I mentioned (Chrysalis) is now up and has had a surprising reception. I did not think that many people would be interested in a more urban type of home, but I had never done one before, and thought I'd give it a shot. :D So thank you to those who gave it a try. ;) The "Cottagey" home I was working on is now pending. It is called Heatheridge Hollow and will be downloadable on the 23rd. The landscaping on it was a joy, and turned out beautifully. (Modest, ain't I? LOL!) Don't let that stop you from getting the base game only home I created called Sommerset though. That one also has some extensive landscaping and is only one story. I think it is a sweet little home. Last, but not least, my bread and butter...the contemporary lot I told you about. This one will be called LeiAnne and is currently in testing so it should be in my "Pending" area soon. For those who are curious, I did post some pics of it in the Build a Lot forum thread under TSR Showrooms. Here is a quick peak at it though, but just a teaser. ;) I do hope it won't disappoint, and thank you for your interest.
