Also, currently working on Art Nouveau Items recolored in the mission match woods. Will do white & black first because they seem to be the favorites. Enjoy! Keep On Simmin'!New Lots
Upcoming is a series of 5 new residential lots from my neighborhood. Also, I have a new lot called the Greek Temple Park upcoming. Thanks to Lydoe of TS2.com for the tutorial on the roof.
Hello Kitty Nursery
I'm currently working on a pink recolour of my Hello Kitty Nursery set, the blue version of this will be available to download from the 2nd September (see picture below). I'm hoping that the pink version will be available to download sometime next week once I have completed it.
TS1 New Vacant Residential Lots
Its been a long and busy summer, and while I've been away my Replacement Residential Lots have been uploaded to the site. I made these some years ago, and only recently realised that I could share them with the Sims 1 community here.
When I first played TS1 I wanted to build houses, and became frustrated that I kept having to remove the previous house and landscaping. I was also disappointed that the layout of the lots in lot view didn't quite match up with the NHood view. I recreated all 41 lots in Old Town as residential lots, demolished the houses and tidied up the land.
I then changed the size of the lots, added fences, trees, and water where shown in NHood view, and relaid the roads to match the NHood view. I even moved the mailbox and path of some lots so that they faced the correct road (according to the house address)!
These are all now available for download, so you can create a blank neighbourhood, install the lots, and start building your own houses on them. Let me know how you get on with them! I'm very happy for you to upload houses you build on these lots to TSR, but nowhere else, please.
New Minisite
WEll, I finally earned that Mini-Site. I'm working on a new neighborhood right now, but pretty soon I'll start uploading many of the lots.My first recolour
I'm officially insane, so I decided to have a go at recolouring. I followed some tutorials and applied it on some game base objects that don't require CEP files. And I came up with this: 1 bedding, 1 wall hanging, 1 armchair, 1 plant, 1 table lamp, 2 wallpapers and 1 floor carpet.
The submission is not approved yet because I requested it to be beta tested first, just in case I messed up... but anyway, I'm quite satisfied with the result, just as long as it doesn't crash anyone's game.
Pirate Fever
Isn't pirate fever another name for scurvy? or is it malaria?
I recently saw that some people think I have caught the pirate bug, some how, to me, this pirate fad is a bizarre thing I can't say I will ever understand. The very idea of heavily clothed murderous men with brown teeth in the tropics practicing dubious hygiene in an era when most people had two baths in their life-time and only used perfume as a means to stave off the plague... well, Hollywood and the Sims Community seem to have a different idea about these things.
Thank god for soap and hot water.
I do, however, have a fascination with the clothing, architecture, and arts of the 17th and 18th century; I think it has something to do with all the period art I saw while growing up in the Hermitage and St Isaac's Cathedral in (then) Leningrad; St Petersburg is a commercial sea port that came into being through the will of Peter the Great and it veritably drips with the history of that period.
Maybe I will make something for the game that demonstrates my love of the more conventional world that existed during the "Golden Age of Piracy" -- which is a bizarre name for an era. I mean, really, millions of people lived in cities and had normal lives compared to the handful of pirates. My heart is on the side of the hard-working sailors and sea captains that were of the more honest sort, rather than the ones who would ransom captives or sell them into slavery; but they all wore pretty much the same clothes, used the same technology, and walked the same streets, so then as now, it takes all kinds to make a world.
