In two minds...

Well you must be 'tsking' my lack of updates of late but I am really torn in RL with what style to have with my new house and I blame the Sims game!!! I know I am sad and tragic! But it has taken me over 2 months to find sofa cushions and I still am not sure what colour I should choose! So I have decided maybe I should assemble a 'mood book.' The reason why I am telling you this is I feel so bad about not producing as many recolours of sets as you might like - and so to make my life easier (and because so many of you say such incredibly lovely things about my sets), I would love to hear from you about your favourite meshes on TSR that you absolutely adore that you would like for me to recolour. And feel free to suggest a colour palate :) hugs Nancy xx

Im visiting my mum and I will be on holiday till the 5th of July.
I tried to upload things till then but did'nt succeed. Just didn't have the time. So I wont have any updates till then.
When I get back I will be off for a while though and get straight involved in some new creations.

Genuine seaside lots - into the sea!

Well, I've decided to explore creating lots that flow into the real, neighborhood sea. It's easiest to do this in OFB's Bluewater Village (on the shore by the business area), or any similar low-lying 'hood where the road is about 10 clicks higher than the sea. The point about these lots is that, once you've worked out the slopes, the sea will invade the lot as you plan (or not!!!) so you can create all kinds of bays, harbours and ports that flow naturally into the Sims sea. So here's a couple of pics of a forthcoming harbour - part of a set - that I'm road-testing at the moment. I've called it Porto di Rimini (= Rimini Harbour) :- &

New poll, old results

Well, it seems that people have all kinds of ways of finding their downloads. I thought the poll results were interesting.

Question: How do you find new things to download?

In order of popularity

1. I just browse around using the categories menu at the top (36.36%)

2. I click on the Sims 2 this week button (21.82%)

3. I look at the spotlights on the front page (16.36%)

4. I usually have something that I am looking for and do a search AND
I look at my artist bookmarks and start from there (tied at 10.91%)

5. Other (3.64%)

Those that chose other did not leave a message, so I don't know what they do. For me, I fall into number 4. Usually, I am playing the game and realize I want something so I go look for it. That is how I started creating in the first place. I realized that I wanted something that was not available so decided to make it myself.

The new poll has to do with a discussion on the forums. Do people know about and pay attention to poly counts when they download? Comments are always appreciated.

Recent Set Problems

I know that some of you have reported my latest set as empty, but whenever I tried to download it (and asked a friend to), there were no issues, so I cleared the reports. Apparently, there's an issue right now with the servers or something. They're trying to figure what the issue is, but it seems that it only happens part of the time. So if it isn't working for you right now, try again in a few minutes. I don't know if it'll help, but clearing cookies or something might fix it too.

As for me, I just finished reinstalling TS2 after my new drive got all set up, and I'm about to reinstall my backed up games. Once I do that, I'll be taking some previews of the single beds that I made for previous sets. I know many of you have been wanting/asking for them, so I should hopefully be uploading those either today or tomorrow.

Chapter 13 - Writer's Comments

I'm thinking that none of my next chapters are ever going to compare to chapter 13. This one was just so great. I'll admit I started the chapter not sure where to go so I started doing research. I searched through all the headstones and was really surprised to see Lyla Grunt there.

I also studied and made sense of Olive's memories. I went online and researched ghost colors and what they meant. I wanted to really include those fun elements that Maxis has created for us players. As I sent my characters through the cemetery I was so lucky to have those three ghosts pop up and scare them. And it really did happen one after another. It was great!

I had to have Ophelia raise Bella because Cassandra's character did not technically know her. And it made more sense because Ophelia is a little more ditzy so it would make sense for her to mess it up.

As for Lazlo, Olive and Audrey, I thought of that at the last minute. And General Grunt was always going to fight Olive but it wasn't till I discovered Lyla's grave did he really have a good reason to do so.

Story Update & Preview

I uploaded chapter 13 today. I hope it is published tomorrow. I think it's really good - made me laugh out loud and actually made me sad too.

FYI - I am working on chapter 14 now. It is called "The Surprise". I plan on getting the rest of story out as quick as possible so I can uninstall Seasons and reinstall so I can install H&M. I really want to recolor a lot of the clothing.

New uploads

So today I have uploaded 5 new sets of area rugs. I hope you will enjoy them. Currently, i am still working on meshing, so thats why theres a little longer between my uploads than normal, to this site, these days, but now and then, i will, like today, upload a little, while i am figuring out how to create meshes (with a little help from some of the very nice people out here).
