Houses
Houses houses houses houses. I wish the base game had more decor items.
Things that Should work...
So, we're just about to get a new Expansion Pack...which is good, as I think we're overdue (aren't I greedy!), and it looks like it could be good one...but...Why are there still things in the game that Still don't work!? We all have a different style of play, but most of the little issues affect most people at some point....
Number One: Why is it still telling me that my game launcher isn't working? It is working..the game loads..I'm playing it..It's there in front of my face..yet it tells me nearly every time I play that it isn't! Which isn't too much of a bad thing, I know, but on my PC it logs every problem every time it happens..I have a log stuffed full of Launcher problems!!
Number Two: I want to play several families, this is supposed to be what the game is about (isn't it? the fact that the storyline continues?!) and if I do their houses disappear so it looks like I have an empty hood, which means: A: it looks Poo..and B: I can't take screenshots!! It's not my PC, it can handle all the graphics wazzed up, so why the disappearing lots..I've stopped playing multiple families bacause of this. (Boooo!)
Number Three: Barnacle Bay. I love it. I love the layout. But why all the celebs?! The celeb thing is ok if I want to play Bridgeport...I expect them..But Barnacle Bay? Is that why they've brought out a new version?? (Booo!)
Number Four: WA..the Adventure Boards (I've seen a lot of comments about this)..to be fair I only have a real problem with France at the moment..But I can't complete all the tombs..I tried moving my entire Sim Family and house to a new game..But now there are NO adventures!! PLease fix that EA, it's driving me nuts...
I'm sure that I could go on allllll day (but I'll sound like a whingey Cow!) but to be honest, the reason I keep coming back, time and time again..is that I love the Sims. I've been playing since Sims1 came out, and I've seen the changes and updates and it has got better and better with each version..but it would be nice if all those little niggly things, that seem to have been around for a while, were fixed..I'd love to play a perfect game :-)
Art Deco Project - Delayed because of RL
Because of real life issues this project is slightly delayed but I think I will be able to resume meshing this week. I just hope that I can remember where I left off. My memory good but very short, lol.
Another Real Life Interruption:
Hey guys,
I've taken a few weeks off to help my sister with her latest project. This house that she's working on is so cool, I will be attempting to build a game-version of it....

Sutton shutter
I just wanted to show you what my next set will be..... Matching Sutton Shutters... They will be available in all sizes for the Sutton windows. They also fit the Thorpe windows... and many more.

Hope you like them!!!!
Another New Poll...
Added a new Poll today...think the last one was a tad out of date!! Just not had time to do much of anything at all recently, but this is the first day of a weeks holiday where I shan't be doing much of anything apart from simming hopefully :-).
Ok, the results from the last Poll are below:-
Pancakes 31.82% (7)
Doughnuts 18.18% (4)
Cenci 4.55% (1)
King Cake 13.64% (3)
Krapfen 9.09% (2)
Festy Cock 4.55% (1)
Pea and Ham Soup 0% (0)
Semla 0% (0)
Other... 13.64% (3)
Nothing Special..same old, same old.. 36.36% (8)
What I would really like to know is....Who was the one person who had Festy Cock?? Hmmm..I've checked the participants and I can't see anyone from Scotland, where the recipe originates from..so who are you? :-D We had no takers for Pea and Ham soup, and to be honest i wouldn't eat it either..bleh..peas..bleh....bleh, bleh..I was hoping to find a picture of Festy Cock on Google, but I found it almost impossible ;-) but I believe it's a pancake looking creation but it doesn't sound as tasty..I would also be interested what the 'Other' choices were..you can leave me a note in my GB if you like :-D I'm just being nosey to what people in the rest of the world do, eat, think etc..
So, the new Poll is a bit of a dull one, but I'm curious as to what might be peoples favourite colour..
Feeling Adventurous
So, I got this idea in my head about 3 o'clock this morning that maybe, just maybe I can do clothes. I really want to do clothes. As much as I love interior design, I love fashion even more. Which is sooo weird because I am totally a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. I might lose the tee for a blouse once in a while but unless I'm going to church or a wedding I ain't ditching my jeans for a skirt, and dresses is a dirty word in my book. If I could have I would have wore a white Channel suit for my wedding day but my husband vetoes me cause he said he wasn't marrying a lesbian. Whatever, it would have been cute. Not to mention I would probly have kept the suit, unlike my husband. Anyway, so yeah, I'm gonna attempt a clothing item. Something simple like a bathing suit or simple top. We'll see.
I do have a little mini set I just uploaded. It's pending approval. I'm pretty proud of it. It's only 3 items, but I spent a lot of time getting the details just right. So I hope everyone likes it. The pic on the left in my 3 pc desk set and the pick on the right is the inspiration.
Enjoy and happy simming.
Computer Crashed
My computer crashed. My computer dude took it and kept it for two days and finally decided that the hard drive crashed, and needed to be replaced. He was able to save a few things I asked him to, but my game files weren't on that list.
I do apologize, but the cookie crumbled unfortunately for the Andretti's.
I've pulled them from certain death many, many times...it's like they've been doomed from the start.
I will likely start another story...maybe not a legacy, but I will definitely have more. I'll be sure to notify you guys where it is, because the story submissions here are still borked for me after all these months. I give up.
Thanks...all of you, for the support...encouragement...and I do sincerely apologize. I will definitely miss them...
Thoughts on story and photo trolling.
Thoughts that have circulating in my pea brain for a bit:
I think we can all agree that the ratings trolling is a bit obnoxious. You post a screenshot that you just love from your game. You post a story that you worked hard on and it has significance to you. Things go on swimmingly, you're getting good feedback ... and whammo! Three hours later your rating has plummeted from the high 4s to the low 3s. Or, if you're especially unlucky, the high 2s. In every case when this has happened to me, it only takes me a few seconds to look around at the surrounding postings to realize that everyone took a hit along with me; a troll is on the site, and most likely it's not personal. Still stings, though. People have stopped contributing to the site over it.
Why do people do this? Dunno for sure, but I've heard a few reasons over the years.
- The troller is bored and just feels like being spiteful. (I had an ex who was a member of a few ratings site for this specific reason; he went after highly-ranked photos specifically to downgrade them.)
- The troller is trying to "average" the ratings. (Usually this seems to happen in reverse; people upgrade because they feel sorry to see such a low rating. Every now and then someone admits that they don't like seeing someone with such high ratings and they need to knock it down a little.)
- The troller is not actually trolling; they are used to a system where "1" is high and "5" is low, so they think they're doing it correctly. (I remember when this happened to an FA who was renowned for her excellent work. We all felt bad for her, but at the same time it was funny in a "shake-your-head" way.)
The problem was resolved as far as submissions go by removing the star rating, and that may be a viable solution for screenshots and stories as well. Personally, though, I'd rather keep the rating systems on stories, flaws and all. It may be because I've been writing for the vast majority of my life and I'm used to feedback that isn't always kind or even constructive. It may be because I'm not on Facebook and am not in the habit of just "liking" random stuff. The saying "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" might be suitable for photographs, but it doesn't work for a writer. If a writer doesn't receive constructive criticism on their work, they'll still be writing in the same manner at 40 that they did when they were 18. Trust me, that's not a pretty sight.
Despite its potential and history of abuse, I find that the ratings are usually a good indicator that I will enjoy reading the story. I've also noticed that stories unfairly knocked down by trolling usually float up again because the readership knows a good one when they see it, spitefulness be damned. This is not a universal truth, of course, but I've found it to be so in most cases.
But naturally I want to know what you think. :)
