My first story!
I'm currently working on my first proper story in Sims 3. It is about Ambrosia Dawes and her legacy. I will either post it on here or on my blog : http://duckeggpie.blogspot.com/
Here is a quick preview:
Hi there! My name is Ambrosia Dawes (Yeah, I know, strange name). I’m 19 and I have just moved to Sunset Valley. I grew up in the big city. I was part of a large family, I had 4 sisters and 5 brothers. I loved them all.

Slowly going nutty...and not in the good peanut butter sort of way
So it's Monday. I have no reason to hate this Monday, but I do. I'm at home sitting in my computer corner trying to pretend that I'm by myself, which by the way isn't working. My father and brother have nothing better to do then intrude upon my solace and solitude with raised voices, extremely loud tv programs, and random banging of pots and pans. I really wish they'd get a job. Well, at least my brother since he's only 24 and needs a swift kick in the behind to get the lazy out of him. My dad, well that's another matter entirely. I'm the youngest of 6 kids, which is funny since I'm 21 almost 22, and at times I fell as if he's earned his right to sit on his butt and eat all day. But when his mouth opens and runs in loud pitches and decibles I feel torn. On one hand I love him to death and have the desire to allow it to go through one ear and out the other, and on the other hand I still love him to death but I'd love more to shove a sock in his mouth, duct tape it shut and then duct tape his hands behind his back so he can't remove it.
Yesterday I only ventured on here to check some of my favorite artists, both bookmarked and non, simply because I was so irritated and mentally dead. I was forced, yes forced, to endure my father's family yesterday after 'church' for a meal. It might have gone better if my cousin understood there was a line between child abuse and punishing a child for a wrong by smacking their butt. She has two little brats that I'd love to just get ahold of. Of course, I'd love to do that to alot of peoples kids but I don't knw if it's because they need it or just because I have a problem. That problem is I absolutely HATE kids! It's kinda of like my issue with horses. No offense to those who have/love horses or kids, but I find them boring and feel like they serve no purpose.
Anyway, I'm still having issues with the nerves in my forearm. My anatomy professor said that the nerves would grow back and I'd stop getting the odd sensation like that of your arm being asleep. I don't advise to anyone to allow themselves to be bit by a dog. Of course, it's not like I ticked my dog off and then shoved my arm in his mouth, but yeah either way it hurt just the same. Next dog I get is gonna be a small one that way I only have to worry about ankles, fingers, and toes.
Tomorrow I have a few plans made up, but it's nothing to exciting. I'll probably post a blog on Wednesday going on about Alice in Wonderland. I'm determined to see it despite the crappy reviews that's been getting. I happen to be a fan of Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp so I say "Nyah" to all nay sayers. Well, I'm going to slip into my own world of make believe and play Sims 3, so ta ta!
~ Peachy, well it does have a hint of stalker flavor :D, but mayhaps I like it. I know how you feel about snoring and grunting. My boyfriend seems to have a grunting problem. He says he doesn't know he does it, but I'm still not buying that. Unfortunately, snoring is a part of my life since my whole family does it including the dogs. I'd have to walk around with ear plugs all day and night to get away from it. I've never had a problem with smells, but this peeve did occur when I was a teen and has followed along with me so far. If I'm eating then it's not so bothersome because the sound of me eating drowns out the sounds of others. It really gets me when it's quite and then all of the sudden you can hear someone sloshing food around in their mouths. Just thinking about it gave me the willies. Anyway, I'm off to play for real now.
Twilight
I had a request some time ago from RelenaYuy0zero1 to create a Neighbourhood for Sims 2 for Twilight. I must say the biggest challenge is the rivers, as there are only 2 bridges that will show up when the Neighbourhood is moved from Sim City 4 to the Sims 2. I'm still working on it, but here's how it looks in Sim City 4 so far (remember that the map will be a mirror image when changed from one program to another):
Version 2 - with town locations
=================================================
It has to be as large as possible, since there is a lot that needs to fit in there...
I'm not picky about the overall lay-out of the streets, there isn't a lot of
information in the books. But I'll give you what I have and make it red...
- Forks & La Push are the most important and will need to have as
much room as possible, Forks more than La Push.
- Port Angeles, Denali
(Alaska), Volterra (Italy)
& Jacksonville only need to be
one "street" each.
Let's start with Forks: Its a small town close to a forest and is build
around a highway.
That highway/main road is the starting point to everything else:
La Push, Port Angeles, Denali
(Alaska), Volterra (Italy)&
Jacksonville...
- Finding the school wasn't difficult, though I'd never
been there before. The school was, like most other things, just off the highway.
- The Thriftway was not far from the school, just a few streets south, off the
highway.
- The Newtons' Olympic Outfitters store was just north of town.
There are only to things really important for Forks:
- A road that leads to the forest (dead end or corner):
His home was nestled right up against thick woods, with
no close neighbors.
- My favorite vamiper familie home, room enough for the biggest sized lot...
I realized, as he drove my truck out of the main part
of town, that I had no idea where he lived. We passed over the bridge at the Calawah River, the road winding northward, the houses flashing past us growing farther apart, getting bigger. And then we were past the other houses altogether, driving through
misty forest. I was trying to decide whether to ask or be patient, when he turned abruptly onto an unpaved road. It was unmarked, barely visible among the ferns. The forest encroached on both sides, leaving the road ahead only discernible
for a few meters as it twisted, serpent like, around the ancient trees. And then, after a few miles, there was some thinning of the woods, and we were suddenly in a small meadow, or was it actually a lawn?
His room faced south, with a wall-sized window like the great room below. The whole back side of the house must be glass. His view looked down on the winding Sol Duc River, across the untouched forest to the Olympic Mountain range. The mountains were much closer than I would have believed. The river is close enough to be considered in their backyard, but it is important that I can use the biggest sized lot!!!
- La Push:
A road starting at the highway, heading south leads to the Indian reservation
and its beach. So yes, I need an ocean there where I can build a beach on. The
beach is separte from the rez, so maybe the rez to the right and the
beach/ocean left and lower? The rez is surrounded with a forest (of course) and isn't directly near the
ocean because of the forest and cliffs...
I don't need an exact copy of the information below, do what you can.
It was only fifteen miles to La Push from Forks, with
gorgeous, dense green forests edging the road most of the way and the wide Quillayute River snaking beneath it twice. I was glad I had the window seat. We'd rolled the windows down — the Suburban was a bit claustrophobic with nine people in it — and I tried to absorb as much sunlight as possible. I'd been to the beaches around La Push many times during my Forks summers with Charlie, so the mile-long crescent of First Beach was familiar to me. It was still breathtaking. The water was dark gray, even in the sunlight, white-capped and heaving to the gray, rocky shore. Islands rose out of the steel harbor
waters with sheer cliff sides, reaching to uneven summits, and crowned with austere, soaring firs. The beach had only a thin border of actual sand at the water's
edge, after which it grew into millions of large, smooth stones that looked uniformly gray from a distance, but close up were every shade a stone could be:
terra-cotta, sea green, lavender, blue gray, dull gold. The tide line was strewn with huge driftwood trees, bleached bone white in the salt waves, some piled together against the edge of the forest fringe, some lying solitary, just out of reach
of the waves. There was a brisk wind coming off the waves, cool and briny. Pelicans floated on the swells while seagulls and a lone eagle wheeled above them. The clouds still circled the sky, threatening to invade at any moment, but for now the sun shone bravely in its halo of blue sky.
- Port Angeles:
Its east of Forks I believe but sinds there is a harbor it needs to be against
the ocean.
A single road of the highway to the ocean is enough, I just need enough space
for the biggest sized lot. I'll build a community shopping center and that's
enough...
- Denali (Alaska): Again it just needs to be one road, starting from the highway heading as far
north? as possible. Its a (biggest sized) lot in the middle of another
forest...
- Jacksonville: It doesn't really matter where you put this road as long as it starts from the highway and is a little away from anything else...
- Volterra: It doesn't really matter where you put this road as long as it starts from the highway and is a little away from anything else.. I will need enough room for at least the biggest sized lot
=================================================
**UPDATE**
Just had a lovely pm from RelenaYuy0zero1 about the bridges as that's been my major hurdle as it changes the entire shape of the landscape, so instead will just go ahead & start building the roads! Should be published soon...

But The CC are not Made By Me .. :(
The Newbie Family
When Bob and Betty Newbie moved into town--before incorporation--they knew no one. And, struggling as they were to make ends meet, it was difficult to find the time to meet their neighbors--what few there were. Bob and Betty--who both appreciate good food--found themselves gaining weight rapidly as they coped with the stress of their new lives. All along Betty wanted to have children, but she knew--and Bob agreed--that trying to raise a family on their budget wouldn't be fair for any children they might have. So, they decided to stabilize their incomes first, then discuss raising a family again after that.
Both Bob and Betty entered into law enforcement, but a lack of skills meant they only managed to become Cadets. The income wasn't great, but it was steady, and they could have a humble lifestyle, so long as they sacrificed some luxuries--like a color TV and comfortable chairs--to make way for their needs. Unfortunately, Betty soon discovered that she couldn't have children. This broke her heart, and Bob wasn't about to hurt her more by suggesting they adopt instead. Besides, while they could have perhaps afforded to raise their own child, the adoption process would have strained their resources tremendously.
Around this time, Betty's younger brother Trevor came to town, looking for a place to stay. He moved in with them, and soon established himself as a top-caliber scientist. With the addition of Trevor's savings and income, Bob thought it might be the right time to suggest adopting. However, before he could broach the subject, Betty shot it down from her side, saying that she wanted to focus on her career instead. Bob, though he himself wanted a family, chose not to press the point and devoted himself to his career as well. He decided to enlist in the military. With his hefty build, however, it took a while before he could convert the fat to muscle. He still looked overweight, but the military doctors all agreed that he was fit as a fiddle--despite looking more like a bass.
Betty left law enforcement as she took stock of her abilities and skills. Her friend, Jason Silver, slipping her a little cash on the side, gradually drew her into a life of crime, taking her on as first an apprentice, then as an underling.
Around the time that Bob was preparing for Astronaut training and Betty was learning to operate a printing press, Amelia Stone (nee Farmer) left the Stone family, having fallen in love with Trevor. The two were married, and Amelia moved into the Newbie house. With the added income and an additional highly-skilled chef, Betty and Bob renewed their efforts to excelling in their professions, and in short order Bob was preparing for lift off and Betty was promoted from underling to partner in crime as a Smuggler in Jason's organization.
Shortly after the two reached their desired pay grades, Betty and Trevor's younger brother Zachary moved in. He brought with him his girlfriend--and soon-to-be wife--Caitlyn. Both were unemployed, but both were working diligently towards achieving their career goals, so Betty and Bob had no problem letting the two freeloaders watch the house while the rest of them worked.
Betty had resigned herself to having no children of her own, and was ready to think about adoption. However, before that could be fully considered, Zachary and Caitlyn had a baby girl, Ruth. A little while later Trevor and Amelia had a baby boy, Cedric. Spending time with the two babies, Betty decided that she'd rather be the nice, doting aunt instead of the strict, stressed-out mother.
Once Ruth and Cedric were grown, Zachary and Caitlyn were free to finish their training for their careers. Very quickly Zachary got picked up as a Dishwasher, and with his advanced skills moved swiftly through the restaurant industry to become a Celebrity Chef. Caitlyn had to wait for an opening at the local circus--it was over crowded with Popcorn Vendors--until she could start, but once she got her foot in the door, her charisma and stamina got her promoted. Fearless--but not foolhardy--she looks forward to the day she can step into the big top and have her big cats perform for the audience.
Chipped Tooth
I've had this really annoying loose tooth for a while now, but while chewing gum I chipped it. So I only have like, half a tooth there now :[
Haha, yeah this is another non sim related post, but oh well :)
