Between real life stuff and creating The Face in the Mirror, my lot creation took a long hiatus.  That should be rectified soon.  I'm currently working on a couple of lots for uploading.  Hopefully, they'll be up and ready by the end of the week.

SIMposium - Sims 3 World Adventures

As some of you may know, I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the SIMposium at EA Games in San Francisco on the 29th & 30th of October. I had the most amazing time & I got to meet creators from around the world, as well as the Sims design team. I even got to meet the infamous Steve Bonham & the wonderful Cedric from here at TSR! There were 23 people from 10 countries & I'm proud to say that 3 of us were from Australia.

I got a tour of EA Games, a preview of the new expansion pack & I also got to have a play of the new Sims 3 Create a World Tool!

I was given lots of free time to explore each of the worlds (China, France & Egypt) & I had a lovely time oohing & aahing at all of the amazing new objects & build tools. There are 3 new pagoda style roofs from China, lots of new trees & plants for those who love landscaping & an amazing array of new themed objects for your sims to fill their homes. Exploring the worlds brings you into contact with a huge range of collectables which your sim can display at home, much as they did with Bon Voyage. You can even build & buy holiday homes in each of the worlds!  

I spent most of my free time testing out the new Sims 3 Create a World Tool which the design team used to create all of these wonderful new worlds. The program will be made available to everyone to download for free from the Sims 3 website in December - so you too can create your own unique world! I will be posting another blog with more detail on this amazing new program, so stay tuned!

I want to send a huge thank you to Steve Bonham for nominating me to attend the SIMposium & to EA for providing me with an amazing World Adventure which I will never forget.

never mind my last post- I'm still going to do the new stories, but I got my saves working!

change of plan

my saves messed up... DX  now all my stories are stopping.  Luckily, I hadn't started to be a princess yet, and i will make replacement stories- Cam Triompe is one, Always Will is the other.  Also I will make random nonseries comedies, like Stodola Pumpa.(barn pump)

Lighthouse Island

Yesterday I have submitted part 10 of Another Point Of View. I hope you will enjoy it. Part 11 will be the finale one, I think that everybody must be fed up with her bad luck and her misbehaviour.

The Blue Screen of Death

Believe it or not, on Friday the 13th my PC got hit by *dum dum duuum* thebluescreenofdeath!  Aaargh!  I coaxed it back to life, but it finally went belly-up after the weekend - and, you guessed it, just out of warranty :(  You can imagine my dismay - 100 Gb of files in limbo!  The horror!  Not to mention a severed umbilical cord to the net!  Luckily I have my laptop, but that poor thing can't take all the slack, so I had to find a solution.  Thanks to some (other) nerdy friends who gave me the idea to get a HDD docking base and a pc taken back from the attic, I already recovered the data, but I'm still on slowtime.  That attic pc only has a quarter of the memory of the old one (so no Sims3 playing on that one - boohooh!) and I immediately remembered why it went to the attic - it makes more noise than my Dyson!  So now I'm left pondering - do I save for a totally new pc or do I upgrade the attic one with an extra fan and memory - if that's at all possible, it is after all already 6 years old, that's practically ancient :P

So now my TSR exploits are put to the back burner (pleh!) as I can't really try everything out properly which makes me grumpy, but hopefully we'll find a solution soon.  Again, we'll keep you posted ;)

World Adventure Thoughts

Okay, I've finally decided to start a blog.  Not sure how entertaining it will be, but that probably doesn't much matter since my proifile page doesn't get a low of views......but here we are.  :)

Stereos:  Every time my travleing sim returns home , his stereo is very loud.  I enjoy the music, just at a lower volume, so I usually have my stereos set on low.  I can now change the stereo to medium, and it get's quieter.....then adjust to low volume and it's fine until he comes home again.

Regfrigerators:  Having the same problem as everyone else.  There's now absolutely no reason for my single sim to serve a group meal, since it will be spoiled by the next morning.  Aggravating!

Cars:  I am currently taking my sim to China just as soon as he can recover from his last trip.  Almost to the final visa level, I think he's on his 5th trip, hopefully he will be able to buy a home on his next trip.  He had a car during his first 3 trips, but didn't take the car with him.  It sure does take a while to travel from locations on foot and bicycle.  Then he got an adventure which required him to go to France.  Before he left, he got a new car (not sure if that matters, but it's either that or a patch made them able to take cars on trips).  He took his new car to France and that made traveling so much faster.  Also I believe I'm addicted to the moodlet from new car smell.........I use money cheats anyway and I just seem to always have to have a car that is very fast and gives that moodlet.  :)  Luckily, he took the car on his next trip to China....made traveling so much faster!

I am mostly concentrating on completing the China adventures, but did enjoy the short trip to France.  I love tomb exploring, but it does seem like it takes a while to get to that point.  After Tom returned from France, I thought I was going to finally get to explore the Temple of the Dragon, but no......I have to reach martial arts level 10 first.  Since Tom's at level 7, that is going to take up most of this 8 day vacation.  Oh well, he is doing martial arts until he gets fatiqued, then excavating anywhere I can find a place to excavate.  :)

Next trip, the Temple of the Dragon!
