An Approach to TS3 Patterns
I'm experimenting with custom patterns for The Sims 3 since two days and these are the results so far.
Royal Damask (wall and sofa)

Laced Paper Cloth (wall)

And my favourite so far: Coiling Tulips (wall)

I'll upload as soon TSR's tool for making patterns is available. :) Hope you like them!
My SimPE
doesn't like me, it seems... It hangs up every time I try to recolor any custom object, and it's very rare that I manage to do it. My poor old PC :(
A Simmers Troubles
Well, until I can fogure out how to update my graphics drive for my LAPTOP...Sims 2 will continue to produce odd patterns, shapes, polygons, and glitches for the sims themselves sometimes, colors will be inverted and while the sims walk...the image of them will like...I dont know how to explain it...paint across the screen???Okay just try to imagine, yknow how your SIM is an animated image? (sort of, best way I can describe it...) and when it walks the image doesnt like stay in one place and at the same time it spreads across the screen? well on mine sometimes it does. I can build houses and put furniture till my heart breaks, but I can not actually PLAY the game, because whether or not any of the color glitches happen, I can not go to community lots, because the bartenders have the same glitches, and so do most of the NPC's at the community lots themselves...=(
I'm very sad. There is like NO way to update a graphics card or whatever on a laptop...we're gonna take it to the computer store to see if they can do SOMETHING, but until then...I'll have to wait and mourn over not being able to actually PLAY in my sims wonderful houses.
Sims1 replicas for Sims3
For my first foray into Sims3 creating, I will be doing replicas of the Maxis Sims1 houses, lots, and families. This is a big project so it will take me a few weeks to complete, especially since I'm still creating for Sims1 as well. I'm trying to split my creating time between both games. I'll start uploading as soon as the site techs open up the Sims3 submissions. I hope you like them!
GOT MY GAME!!!
I couldnt get my game right on release day, June 2nd--I guess Amazon was swamped with too many orders expecting release day delivery! I was ok with that--I knew eventually my game was gonna arrive! Besides--the official Sims3 site was a madhouse, and kept crashing.
Yesterday, June 3rd, at about 2PM, I heard my screen door slam. I was in my kitchen, and when I came out to investigate--I saw the UPS guy walking back to his truck which was parked in front of my driveway. I knew right away what had just happened!!! Sure enough, when I opened my front door, there was the unmistakable package which held my game!! Of course I fondled it gently for a second before ripping into it and slapping it into my computer to install it! And I have been lost in it ever since!!!
Sims 3
Hi everyone! Just had to tell you about my experiences with the Sims 3. I purchased it on June 2 and couldn't wait to get home and install it. After I did, I could tell right away that I needed a new video card sooooo back to Best Buy where I purchased one for 69$ and the Kid who helped me in the store told me I had to check the power wattage on my computer because the new video cards require at least 300 watts. Back home and guess what? Yep, mine was only 250 watts sooooo back to Best Buy. I had to get new power pack and was informed that I should also purchase more RAM( I had only 1 GB) so I got 2GB for 60$ and 50$ for the power pack. They did the installation for me for 50$ So all of that plus the 50$ for the game and I am finally ready to PLAY!!!. The sad thing is that my computer is less than 2 years old!!! Anyway, the game is AWESOME! It takes quite awhile to get used to the new features and when you first start out it takes som time to CAS and build. There are some great new features though. I like how easy it is to place objects now and the fact that you can customize everything is unbelieveable! The drawbacks are that your aren't given much to start with in the way of hiar, clothes, furniture etc. But I'm sure expansion packs and you great artist out there will take care of that. The town is amazingly beautiful and walking around town is great. There are so many cool features and not too many drawbacks that I am hooked and not sorry I had to fork over the money I did. Mary
Midnight Music
Just a quick note to let you all know a set of matching walls and a 'midnight music' themed recolour or Razzah's glass dining will be available for download on the 6th June. Now .... back to exploring the sims3 ....... :)
The Sims 3...
I've been to many forums that discussed about the much-awaited The Sims 3, including TSR's.
I've noticed that there are many people unhappy about the game because of some cool features that are absent from the game. The Sims 3 was criticized because the magical feeling that the Sims 3 emit was far thinner than the previous Sim games.
First of all, I feel sorry for anyone who feels that The Sims 3 was dissapointing and felt that it was not worth investing their cash into the game. Many claimed that the hype of The Sims 3 spurred imaginative ideas and made you think that Sims 3 was going to have features that are beyond your wildest dreams. The feeling was so inducing that we totally forget about the possible negative aspects that The Sims 3 can hold. That happened to me when EA announced that the next expansion pack for The Sims 2 was Seasons.
I joined in the hype of that cool expansion pack; I frantically searched for videos on the game, get the latest details on it - I ended up thinking what Seasons would contain. Would you be able to dig snow during Winter, as ordered by your parents? Would your Sim families sit down by the warm fireplace and cuddle each other? Would your Sims feel cool and smile while sleeping soundly? I totally forget that EA can be really selfish and not passionate when deciding the features to include in the game. So, when I played the game, I was massively dissapointed and agreed with some reviews that gave The Sims 2: Seasons a thumbs down.
However, when I looked at the big picture, I figured that I should blame myself for not enjoying the game. Due to this, I would ignore all Sims games preview, sneak peek and rumours. I did that for Bon Voyage, Freetime and Apartment Life. I found myself becoming fond of Sims again.
I have two advice for Sims 3 players, as for now.
ONE: You should never be excited about a Sims expansion pack because you will tend to create imaginations about the game, which will never come true. So, you should stay calm and flush out the thought of that expansion pack from your mind, then only will you find yourself liking the game once you have played it.
TWO: For Sims 3 players, I know most of you are dissapointed about the game. Perhaps you should stay calm and try to explore the game a little more? Give it a more time. (3 months or so) I'm quite sure that you would adore the game. :)
