Tool to improve the loading performance of The Sims. Especially under Windows XP the startup of the game can take up to 45 minutes, dependent on the number of objects and user downloads. Changing the attributes of the files to read only does increase the startup immense. Users reported that the speed has been increased from more than half an hour to a couple of minutes. The KILLERSIMS ReadOnly software detects your downloads and changes the attributes to read only access.

After launching the program and clicking the LIST button, all relevant files will be displayed. The program will show you the name of the file, the folderlocation as well as the attribute R with a yellow background if the file is already read online or a white background if the file has read write access (not read only). By clicking the READ ONLY .IFF button the program will change all .IFF files to read only access. Push the LIST button again to see the result. You should see a better loading performance now when starting your game.

You can get this program at Killersims by going to the "9th Floor" and selecting the "Software" section on the menu.
