TS2 Lots Database: Downloads Suspended!

Due to some well documented problems regarding the distribution of "hacks" for the game via Residential and Community Lots, The Sims Resource has decided to suspend the distribution of these files while we investigate the problem fully.

This decision has been made to protect our community primarily against the distribution of adult content hacks as well as "cheat" hacks which alter game play. It is our opinion that gamers should have the right to play their game the way the developer (Electronic Arts/Maxis) intended, unless they explicitly allow it to change to meet their own desires.

We are in the process of both consulting EA on the issue, and looking to provide a system of checking our existing and future submissions to ensure that they are unadulterated. As we progress, we hope to be able to offer safe downloads to our community as quickly as possible.

We have already started publishing "safe" content. You can find the items that we have checked by clicking the "All Safe" link in the left navigation of Residential and Commercial Lots.

As per our usual policy for down time, all active subscriber accounts will be credited with 2 free days as a good-will gesture to make up for the downtime on TS2 Lots.
