Extracting (installing) DatGen...

There have been a lot of cries for help lately from people who install DatGen, and it doesn't work. It seems that some of the extracting programs out there, like WinAce, 7-zip, and even the built-in windows zip extracter don't work proplerly. Some of them extract the files improperly, so they end up corrupted (WinAce and 7-zip to name two), or they don't extract with the proper folder structure in tact. If you extract DatGen and immediately get an "Application Error", without any other windows or more detailed information, you probably have an extract problem. Delete the files you extracted, and download WinRar or WinZip, and extract DatGen with folder structure in tact. If you still have problems with DatGen after that, your always very welcome to contact one of the DatGen team directly and ask for help. win rar + that weird internet thing +create dategen folder seperately and BRAVA!!!! The man was rite!!

At first it didn't work. Than I read on here that I needed .NET. So I downloaded that and installed it. Now it works. Oh, and I used the built in zip utility of XP. Now I just need to figure out how to use the program. $\:D$

Hi, Ive downloaded DatGen modding Tool at least 10 times now and every time there is a different reason, I have Winzip and WinRar, it just wont work for me, can you help?
