This weekend we have been working to clear out the old databases, ready to start using the new. As a result, today sees a rather big update to the site. Here�s a list of what you will find:

I also published 9 new houses to test the new database, but they didn�t show up. Bug #1, so they will probably pop up later in the day once we get that little tinker out of our system. While talking about the new database, I thought I�d explain the planned features and reasons for changing our �behind the scenes� system. Obviously, the original database just catered for what is now known as the Free TSR. We upload people�s work into that database and publish as and when we choose. The database has since been set up to copy over to the member area of the site too. However, to make the member area more efficient, we have created whole new databases that work primarily in that area. The content from today onwards will be published there, and copied over to Free TSR, instead of vice versa. Don�t worry, there�s no delay, and content hits both areas at the same time. There are many benefits of this new system. One is the ability to let trusted submitters upload all their own content directly into the databases, doing away with the need to zip up all their files and mail them to submissions for processing. This makes it easier for us, and more fun (and quicker) for the creator. Another new feature we are working on is a download �chart�. This is nothing competitive, but we can now total downloads by creator, as well as each individual piece. So Raveena will see herself in the chart, displayed by total downloads created by her, as will Stephanie, our houses guru, and anyone else that sends work in to the site. They can be split by each database, or totalled. Daily charts, weekly, monthly, yearly etc. We might even offer prizes of free subscriptions for people that make it into the chart too, but either way, it will be a nice little feature for the submitters of quality work. As this is a dynamic system which will show results in real time, it will be installed on the member area only at first, but we will be able to run a weekly or daily update version on the free area too. That�s about it for now I think. The other news about new features for the member area will pop up there early in the week, so keep your peepers peeled :-)
