Food in the Sims 2
In the Sims 2, the food choices consist of more than potato chips, pizza, and salad. Since sims will be able to go to the grocery store to buy ingredients, different edible concoctions can be created. Here on the left you can see a sim chopping up vegetables like celery and later creating some sort of omelet (see image to the right). Sims have memories, so hopefully they will remember what recipes turn out well and which ones were disasters.
The refrigerators are used to store certain types of food. This Sim is pulling out a baby bottle from the fridge. On the top shelf, there appears to be glass soda bottles. The lower parts of the refrigerator contain healthier options, such as lettuce. Although it is hard to make out, there appears to be carrots and watermelon in the bottom shelf. Even the door of the refrigerator stores some kind of food, although it is difficult to make out what type.
Some of the food favorites from the original will still be in the game. Pizza is always a popular choice for sims. Each pizza contains eight slices topped with pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage. Once a slice is lifted out of the box, a greasy stain remains. Sims can also eat slices of cake.
Sloppy sims will have leftovers and remains pile up on the floor. Empty and dented soda cans and cardboard food containers represent trash. Sims are supposed to be more aware of their surroundings, but messy sims like the one in the picture might be able to ignore it. After all, he is walking right through the garbage.
A variety of food choices is one of the new features the game provides and something that will be great to experiment with.
