Poor Archie wants this business venture with Dina to go well so badly, he cherishes every little symbol of acceptance. The Key To Sunset Valley is encased in crystal by the front door! Dina threw in her practical "two-cents-worth" by insisting the table Archie's trophy is housed on has some practical use; the patrons can hang their coats and hats on hooks mounted above on the wall. One aspect that is seen most clearly in this shot is the attention to detail Archie's and Dina's ultimate judge (the formidable Kae) demanded of the wall treatments. "A proper mudhouse needs distressed brick and stucco on the walls to appear aged and authentic! Go dark and gritty, instead of bright and yuppy like all the other Startling Bux franchise houses!" It took some time to please her, but Kae finally gave an exasperated thumb's up to Archie's hard work on those walls. Dina snorted at the loss of time and expense of effort it took to dig around old warehouses and tumble-down barns to come up with the materials, but found out later that a little research can go a long way into getting the look you want.
