We are going to try something a bit different today – Leather Aesthetic in CC! So here is how this is going to work today… I am going to show you a predicted fashion trend for Fall 2022 and tell you how to get it in your game using five easy tips with loads of CC suggestions!! So Let’s Get That Look!

Why Leather Aesthetics

As always I put some research into my blog and looked up predicted fashion trends for fall 2022. One of the biggest trends predicted by google searches and Pinterest was Leather Aesthetics. Of course, this has specific elements required for the upcoming trend, but don’t worry we are going to look at five of them! I will be honest I was a little hesitant about this one… but I have NEVER seen Pinterest be wrong yet.

What is it?

So what do I mean when I say Leather Aesthetics? Well, simply leather fashion; clothing, shoes, accessories containing the material or leather-like material. Sounds pretty simple really, however, this upcoming leathery trend incorporates much more than that and lots of layers of leather!

Why Is This Trending For Fall 2022?

Well… It would be off to see leather trending in the summer months because it is HOT!!! You know temperature-wise, no way leather jackets and pants would be tolerable in hot weather! So now that it is cooling off thicker materials can be worn again! Really leather has been a part of fashion for ages!! But now we are getting ready to rock like the 80s and 90s again… full leather styles… but these trend predictions look a little different… dressier rather than metal or biker leathers.

5 Tips to Make This Look Happen

You all know I just cannot resist researching fashion and seeing how they show up in CC here on The Sims Resource. So here are some ways to get this upcoming look in your game for your Sims! Five easy steps and lots of CC to download!

1 – Jackets & Dusters

With any leather look, a jacket or duster is essential! The trend includes jackets and dusters over a wide variety of tops; crop tops, button-down tops, and corset tops. Of course, dresses and skirts paired with jackets and dusters are also totally in as well! Pair with some cute boots and POOF leather aesthetic.

Of course here at The Sims Resource, we have lots of leather outwear for your needs. There are two ways to find jackets as CC; full outfits… or if you want to give yourself a bit more control over the look you can download the accessory jackets to layer your looks yourself. I totally recommend this jacket by Darte77! LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH!!! Great detail and fits great with other CC pieces.

2 – Bustiers & Corsets

The biggest element of this look aside from leather… is a bustier or corset. I assure you these are both two different things, so if you don’t know… A bustier pushes things up to boost the bust whereas the primary purpose of a corset is to give better curves and tighten the waistline. And yes, they are sometimes worn as tops and accessories and not just shapewear!

3 – Leather Pants

From what I am seeing pants are more consistent in this newer leather aesthetic than dresses or skirts. I am not saying the dresses and skirts are out, just less present. As really who can ditch them that easily?

The leather pants I am seeing pop up everywhere on Pinterest are looser fitted and wider legged than one would generally picture in their head when thinking leather aesthetics. I found some really great examples of this style that are perfect! The Leather V Pants by Charlotte_Morris, 90s Leather Trousers by DOlilac, Leather Straight-Leg Pants by Harmonia, and POV Pants by Plumbob_N_Fries.

4 – Button-Down or Dressy Top or Long Dress

From my research typically the only non-leather piece of the outfit is the top. Generally, the tops look like a silky or light material and have a collar, and are considered a button-down tops. Then the next step is to pair that leather bustier or corset on top of this top.

We saw a little bit of this in fashion trends last winter but, it is said to still be a thing and BIGGER. One of the first creators I go to when looking for super trendy clothing is belal19972 (Belaloallure). This creator has loads of tops and dresses that fit this trend perfectly!!!

5 – Black Sunglasses

One of the easiest ways to finish off a look is just to add some nice black sunglasses. This works perfectly for this trend, as with black leather, and black glasses it’s so easy! There are also soooo many pairs of sunglasses here at The Sims Resource. I suggest starting with Suzue as this creator has loads of sunglasses and the Avant Sunglasses are one of my faves!

Here are three full looks on my take on the style, I tried to make them slightly different but still preserve that new and trendy leather aesthetic look. My favorite look is the 3rd Sim. I absolutely love that top and the look overall looks soooo good! Just so classy but fun!

Summary

This leather aesthetics trend is a much dressier look for sure and I am totally here for it! I of course like the traditional leather aesthetic looks, but I could totally rock this classy trend! I am excited to see what all comes from it and most definitely want to see it happening IRL as Pinterest predicted. I love seeing what people put together for outfits! That is why The Sims and downloading CC is so much fun for me!
