Simmer Stories: Even The Grim Reaper Can’t Escape the Daily Grind in The Sims 4
As in the real world, money makes the world go round in The Sims 4. Whether they’re climbing the corporate ladder or flipping burgers at a fast-food joint, almost every Sim chases that next promotion and a bigger paycheck. Even Sims like the Grim Reaper can’t escape the daily grind or their need for Simoleons. And when you’re the only Sim guiding souls to the Netherworld, maybe that paycheck should be a little heavier.
A Little More Coin In The Pocket
Over on r/Sims4, Reddit user u/unholybirth discovered that Grim was being severely underpaid. One would think that Grim would have a well-paying job. However, he only makes 55 simoleons an hour! Some careers are significantly more lucrative than others. For example, a Chief of Staff can earn more than 280 simoleons an hour; he’s off every day. Meanwhile, the Reaper of Souls only makes 55 simoleons hourly? Something doesn’t add up.
I don't know why I only noticed this now after all these years but Grim only makes like 55 an hour. If he even went in, because every day is a day off.

Sure, he only goes in to work when someone dies, but shouldn’t Grim be paid more for the time he does come in? How many Sims die in a day? Is he only getting paid 55 simoleons a couple of times a week? Maybe money isn’t important for an entity like Grim, though he deserves better compensation for all he does for the world of The Sims.
However, now we can’t help but wonder what Grim would need money for. Does he have to pay bills in the Nether? What’s the cost of living there? Maybe he truly doesn’t need the money. Still, we think he deserves better pay for all he does. Poor Grim stays going through it.
