What Kids Are Made Of Theater & Snacks
Published Oct 30, 2010
This is a personal Easter Egg for me. These look like the old, worn-out seats at the Fox Theater on the square where I grew up. The theater seats were a dark green velvet framed by walnut arm rests and seat backs. The floors in the seating area were concrete (I think), and there was a carpet running up the aisles--it was so old no one could tell what color it had been. Every summer, the Fox Theater hosted a summer movie program for kids. Parents purchased a book of tickets for the kids to get into all the matinee movies, which changed each week. I can remember seeing some old Don Knotts movies ("The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" was my favorite) plus a lot of Disney classics. Aaahh, childhood memories!
