Sorry for the long wait.... but here's chapter seven.
Now, when we left off Sam had arrived on Elle's door-step demanding to see her. Kyle had not approved, and had told Sam to meet him on the beach the next day, so that they could settle things the 'old fashioned' way.

Here we go! ;D
Kyle paced the hotel room wondering if he'd made the right decision. Almost immediately after Sam had left, Kyle demanded that Elle pack her bags. He loaded her in the car and drove her away from the city. Sam would never find them.
There would be no fight. Kyle had decided that long ago. Although Sam was flesh and couldn't hurt him in anyway, it worked in reverse. There was nothing Kyle could physically do to Sam, and he clearly wasn't afraid of ghosts.

Elle was fuming. She sat in an arm-chair across the bed from him with her arms folded, watching him intently. Kyle had never seen her more angry.
Elle stood and crossed the room. Had Kyle been solid, she would have slapped him. Failing that, she began yelling.
"What on earth were you thinking?!" she fumed. "I saw Sam. I know he was there. And I know that's why you dragged me here!"
Kyle shivered. The tables had turned, and he saw it. If there was one thing he was afraid of now, it was her.
"Don't you see?" he yelled in reply. "He's trying to hurt you! I'm SAVING you! And you're so ungrateful! Can't you just sit back and enjoy a holiday?!"
"You're not saving me, Kyle!" she screamed, getting louder with every word. "YOU'RE the one who's trying to hurt me! Why can't you just leave us alone?! You're DEAD!"
Kyle's fists shook. "I'm not dead," he scowled.
"Sure," Elle agreed sarcastically. "And I'm purple! Kyle, leave me alone! Go away and STAY away!"
Kyle backed away. He could hear footsteps in the hallway outside and knew people had heard the fight. The last thing he needed was for people to burst in and find a ghost. He had to keep himself hidden, as well as Elle. But this was pushed to the back of his mind as her rage grew. He had to get out... even just for a few minutes. She had to calm down, and she wasn't going to with him there.
As he walked down the hotel's front steps he sighed. His head was an ocean of cruel, malicious thoughts. But riding on the surface were his memories. All he ever wanted was a life just like he had before he died. But Elle had moved on, and he couldn't stop it, no matter how much he tried.
He turned down a side-street, hoping to avoid crowds and traffic. A walk would do him good, he decided.
Meanwhile, Elle was standing in a corner of the hotel room, cell-phone in hand. This was the first time since he'd appeared that Kyle had left her alone. She took the opportunity and quickly dialed Sam's number. It rang twice before he picked up.
She was so relieved to hear his voice, she started crying. "Sam," she sobbed.
"Elle," He said again, picking up on the emotion in her voice. 'Elle, where are you?"
"I don't know," she said. "Some hotel in a little village. Listen, Sam. Kyle's only gone for a minute."
Sam sighed. "I don't care," he said. "Can you see the Eiffel Tower from your room?"
"Yes," Elle said, still sobbing.
"OK, I know where you are," Sam said. "I'm coming, wait for me."

* * *
Kyle was strolling along the sidewalk when he saw it. A blue, shimmering haze, much like his own. As he got closer, he noticed it moving... towards him. As it got closer, he recognised a face and more humanly features. She stopped about a meter in front of him and whispered his name.
"Kyle," she said.
"Y-yes?" Kyle stammered.
She smiled at him. "I know you're secrets," she whispered.
There was something daunting about her, but her shimmering, blue body seemed oddly calming.
"How?" He asked, transfixed by her white eyes.
"It's my power," she explained.
Kyle saw something peculiar in her eyes. They weren't secretive, like Elle's. They were open, honest and friendly. He'd never seen eyes so welcoming before. "You're power?"
"Yes," she nodded. "My power. Every ghost has one. Don't you remember how you made the ground shake under Samuel's feet?"
Kyle stuttered. "H-how did you know about that?" He asked.
"I told you," she said. "It's my power. I can read minds."
Kyle smiled. This was strange. But he was enjoying it. Something about her was captivating.
"Let her go, Kyle," she said.
Kyle shivered. "What?"
"Let Elanor go," she repeated.
She sighed. "It's what's best. For her, for you...." she closed her eyes for a moment, and when they opened, she leaned forward and kissed him.
Kyle felt the world melt beneath his feet. His stomach filled with butterflies and he felt truly alive again. As they pulled away, she grinned at him.
"It's what's best for us," she said, winking.
Kyle felt himself falling head-over-heels for the mysterious woman, even though they'd only met moments ago.
She grinned even harder. "I know what you're thinking," she whispered.
"We can spend eternity together, Kyle," she said.
Kyle smiled. Eternity didn't seem nearly long enough.

* * *
Elle was waiting outside when Sam arrived. Kyle still hadn't returned, and she was getting more and more anxious.
Sam's face lit up the minute he saw her. He rushed to her and held her fragile body in his arms. She was sobbing again, but he was sure it was from relief this time.
"Elle," he whispered. "I missed you so much!"
She said nothing, just savored his embrace as long as she could.
Eventually, Sam pulled away. He sensed Kyle would return soon, and he had to get Elle away as fast as he could. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the waiting car.
"We have to go," he said.
Elle nodded and followed, grateful for her rescue.

I didn't like the "twist". It was pretty fast & doesn't match Kyle's personality at all. I know, romance is nice and it saves the story. It's nice, though. Let's see what happens next.
