I am not sure why it will not work.  Honestly it could have something to do with the size.  I have had issues with a few of the larger lots not installing properly as well.  Either the game crashes mid-way through installing the lot, or it crashes when I go to edit mode on the lot itself after installation.  I am not a computer techy but I imagine it is a compatibility issue.  Our systems just do not want to play nice with each other lol!  You make the 4th person that has had troubles since the last patch.  I am debating wiping my game and reinstalling to see if it helps. Anyway I am very sorry it did not work for you.
