What's New!!!

I just finished the preview shots for my Nautical Boy's Bedroom set.  Jsf Designs (Judi) created a set of beautiful walls and floors for the set and they are the perfect finishing touch! Judi, thank-you so much for your generosity, I really appreciate it!

I plan to release the set on Jan. 10th, and I have added Judi's fantastic floors and walls to the set's collection folder.

Vanity Fair News

I'm having a ball creating for Sims 3! It still takes me more time to create for Sims 3 then it does for Sims 2. Although when I create for Sims 3, I spend a lot of time testing and trying out new stuff, every new creation is a learning experience. After I create new content for the game, I can't wait to see what it looks like in game. I love to play around with all the different recolor options.

I’m beginning to think "outside the box" and to consider unique news ways to texture and recolor an object. I think Sims 3 is going to change the way I create!

Yesterday, I created a vintage mirror and dresser for the Vanity Fair collection. The dresser started out with only 1 re-colorable part (wood) and an overlay (the gold accent bits). In game I accidentally dragged the textures from the curtains and placed them on my dresser. I realized a floral texture looked pretty good on the dresser.

So, I decided to add a total of 3 re-colorable parts to the dresser with the overlay. So all of us wacky creative artist types can have more flexibility in decorating and we can experiment with textures and colors to create many unique styles in furnishings.

Here are a couple of pictures--mirror and dresser. Should I add the blue floral dresser to the in game catalog options? Let me know what you think...

Jan. 4th, Vanity Fair Part II

Vanity Fair Part II is a mini-set of 3 new furnishing, which include a ladies slipper chair, round table, and a vintage table lamp. All pieces feature bold gold trim and accents--perfect for an "over the top" Victorian home. The round table features 5 new wood textures. The table lamp's base and shade both have recolorable parts.

Dec. 11th, Sims 3 Vanity Fair Collection

My first Sims 3 Victorian inspired set is scheduled for publication on December 11th. The Vanity Fair collection is a mini-set of bedroom furnishings. The collection features a canopy bed with 4 recolorable parts, a gold accented chaise, bench seating, a nightstand, 2 versions of vintage curtains, and a trio of pictures. 

What's New!

I am working on a little boy's bedroom set with a nautical theme. I hope to release the set before Christmas. This set is an ambitious project, as I am creating models for both Sims 2 and Sims 3. Wish me luck! I've already created the Sims 2 packages and the set is "looking good." LOL, I can't wait to see it in the Sims 3 game!

Sims 3 Vanity Fair Collection

Well, I am finally comfortable creating for Sims 3 and it's taking me less time to create custom content for the game. I converted a few Vanity Fair objects and created a few new meshes for Sims 3. Although it is easier for me to just to create brand new meshes for Sims 3--less work! LOL!

Here are a few screen shots of Vanity Fair (Sims 3), however, I still have a couple of objects to tweak before I release the mini-set. The canopy bed is 1 object and there are 3 recolor-able parts, including the bedding. Let me know what you think....

It�s D�j� Vu all over again!

It’s like déjà vu, all over again! The Sims 3 Chloe Dining Collection was published November 12. Now it is time for the Sims 2 Chloe Metro Dining set to be released, the set is scheduled for publication on November 18^th. Chloe Metro Dining is a new Sims 2 contemporary dining set; it features a 3-tile dining table, casual dining place setting, dining chair, deco/china cabinet, hutch, and several new deco items.

To use the place setting with the table you must download the invisible table mesh. Remember, you must place the place setting on the invisible table first (use the “M” and “,” and “.” keyboard keys to position the place setting) and then move everything to the dining table.

Sims 3 Creations

Hi y'all! I just published my first Sims 3 sets! They are the Modern Living Curtain and Chloe Dining Collection. I am getting familiar with TSR Sims 3 Workshop and learning how to create the different types of textures, which are required for Sims 3 objects. I have to admit creating for Sims 3 is challenging, but it’s also a lot of fun! I can’t wait to start my next Sims 3 project; I think I'm ready to create something Victorian, LOL!

I Think, I Can!

"I--think--I--can, I--think--I--can!" 

I am smiling from ear to ear!  While they are not ready for publication yet, I finally created a few objects for Sims 3. It's been a rough road, initially; everything I created for the game came out sooooooo shiny! Well, I got that straighten out, but then another problem would develop, LOL! Fortunately, I love a good challenge! 

Don't expect Victorian creations right away, I am taking it slow and easy, I am starting with something less complex. Although I did create new curtain for Sims 3, I really HATE the in game curtains! They are so unattractive. So, I created my own window treatment, the other objects (pictured below) were created for Sims 2 and I converted them to Sims 3.

I'll keep you posted on the status of my Sims 3 project!

So Many Questions!

So Many Questions!

The majority of the questions I am asked are about Sims 3.

Do I plan on converting my Sims 2 Victorian creations to Sims 3 packages? I really don’t know at this time, it may not be feasible to convert the files. I am not an expert on Sims 3, but one of the main problems (for me) is that Sims 3 requires two meshes, a low and high polygon model. The game uses the low-polygon model for distance viewing and a few other things. Real life keeps me very busy and I don’t have the time to create low-poly meshes for all of my older creations. I have created over 600 meshes!

Also, some of my Sims 2 creations need to be re-UV mapped to appear at their best in Sims 3. However, the main drawback is that attending college and family commitments limit the amount of free time I have to create for the game.

After five years of creating for Sims 2, I can just about create the “stuff” in my sleep, LOL! So, I will continue to submit Sims 2 creations to TSR, this is stuff I have already made and have not found time to publish. I have downloaded the latest version of TSR Workshop (Sims 3) and I cannot wait to give it a try! A few weeks ago, I was able to create a Sims 3 object and view it in game! Unfortunately, I have to stop and get to work on writing final exam papers for school. I have just about forgotten everything I learned and need to refresh my memory by reviewing a few tutorials. So, it may be a while before I submit Sims 3 stuff, but I am too addicted to creating for the Sims game to give it up now!

Question two is can I recolor your creations? For all of you artists who want to recolor my stuff. YES! You are allowed to recolor ALL of my creations, just be sure to follow the TSR site rules and create your own custom textures. It is always a pleasant surprise to see my creations recolored by another artist. It is not necessary, but it would be nice to receive credit for creating the mesh.
