Various fixes today

We have fixed a couple of issues today. One of them had to do with IE6 where download pages looked quite messy, as well as other pages throughout the site. We've also updated some of the missing archives on minisites and missing screenshots in your profiles. More to come :)

Various fixes

Some pages has been cleaned up (like the poll pages). But most importantly, the pm/guestbook counters have returned! Yes that's right, you can now see if you have any new entries next to the kudos score. You can still access previews of the messages in your Dashboard, this is just a much requested feature from many of you - enjoy! :)

Cause for login problem found

We have finally found the cause for a login problem that has been reported by quite a few people!

If you get redirected to a login screen when you try to download and are using Intenet Explorer on Windows Vista please have a look at Tools->Internet Options->Security, click on "Trusted Sites" then click the button "Sites...".

If you have an entry for TSR there like this:
http://www.thesimsresource.com

remove it and instead add:

*.thesimsresource.com

This will work with the wizard as well.

Broken colorschemes fixed

There was apparently some problems with the orange and purple colorscheme which made them show without a background. This is now fixed, so feel free to choose those again!

Red colorscheme added

This seems to have been a popular color in the past, and well now it's back. Enjoy all you red color lovers! :)

Site stability and performance update

This week has been has been extremely busy with around the clock work to make some fundamental changes to how pages are generated and reused (cached) on the site, and we have high hopes that this change should improve the stability of the site. We have also invested in a new central storage solution to make sure we have room for all your upcoming Sims creations, as well as stories, screenshots, gallery images etc. Unfortunately we got some stability issues with the way we integrated this new hardware, which forced us into doing the already mentioned fundamental changes. The good thing is that this new setup is much better than the old one.

We are also aware of that some pages might load slow sometimes, especially during high traffic hours. We know where the bottleneck is, and we hope to have a solution for this in the place the coming week.

As an end user, no matter if you're a subscriber or free member, you shouldn't need to care about these very technical details of course. But I just want you all to know that we are working extremely hard to fix any issues that you might experience.

Orange colorscheme added

Upon request the orange colorscheme for your profiles/minisites has been added to the selection. Enjoy :)

Double login

We have found and fixed the bug that made members have to log in twice the first login attempt every new day. We have also done some other small fixes related to login for example that login now works when you have privacy set to high in IE.

We have changed some cookie settings in the forum software that might fix problems thats some members might have.

Some updates and fixes

Hello again! Time for some updates on what we've been doing for the last days.

First off we've done some maitenance on the submission server, which resulted in some downtime over the weekend. It should be back to normal now however so feel free to submit!

Secondly, we've had some problems with logins in the forums. This is/was due to a hardware failure on the forum server that caused us to relocate the whole forum to a new server. There are some settings left to do before it works flawlessly, but it should work better now then it did last week. Speaking of login issues, we've also found the reason for the strange login problems some have reported - this only applies to those using Internet Explorer with security settings set to high. This problem is now solved so if you had this problem, please try again!

We've also added a new feature for subscribers:

On the index page and FA minisite index pages you will now find all the latest FA releases in the right column below the big black buttons. On the main index you will only see today's FA releases, while on a minisite you will see all releases by that artist for the whole week.

We also found and solved an irritating bug that caused the wrong expansion/stuff pack icons to show on the item details page. It would only show the Sims 2 icon over and over if any stuff packs were required. This now shows correctly again.

There are many more behind the scenes changes going on as we speak, so check for another update soon :)

Various fixes and updates

Here are some of the fixes that's been released lately:

1. Bigger preview image on the details page. When there is only 1 image it now fills the whole width.
2. You can now click on the bigger images on the lots details pages to get the full image in a lightbox.
   
3. Thank the artist link on the browse page now appears after downloading, as well as a direct link to post a comment.
4. Popular searches (works like a tag cloud) available under the filters on the downloads pages.

We've also done various bugfixes and updates throughout. Look for another update soon! :)
