A Sims 3 Photo Studio...

I decided to try setting a stage for capturing images of my most recent work. CAS's background was just not doing it for me anymore.

The first thing I encountered was the freedom of creating the stage. Making a box-room, flooding it with light, added patterns, some furniture, then dropped the lady sims into the room. The poor girls are probably hungry or dirty due to lack of care, but I don't care much since I'm using cheats :)

Also - turning my graphics settings all the way up with full AA certainly helps. I'm surprised my machine handled it flawlessly.

I won't post up my process today but I'll just leave some screens here of the results. My main gripe is the lack of interesting animations and poses for sims that are alone.

What the so-and-so is going on with cyclonesue-creations?

 I just want to apologise for a little hiccup in my releases.

TSR has wanted to push out a launch of clothing and accessories this week, starting today.  I didn't want my rubbishy stuff tainting such pristeen work on the opening day, so I've moved everything back a little.  The Container Ship rolls out properly tomorrow, and the other uploads showing in my upcoming window will be out later in the week.

This summer I have little time to create, because I'm not in the city now. In the place where I spend my summer there's no internet, Sims 2 And Sims 3, so I can't create anything, but please, wait for my new creations which I will upload soon! (Also I will upload creations for sims 2!) Please, wait!

YESSS!!!

I finally have the games installed again and my back-up plan worked! I'm now able to work on an update. I'll work on one today, it might be out Tuesday or Wednesday. But, don't hold your breath.

Prison break T-Shirt for a young adult -This isn't the normal one with Prison Break written on it..this says Psycho Ward Inmate. After I made it, I thought, hang on they call it Psych ward...oh well.

A Sam and Dean Top for an adult, I really wasn't happy with the last one I made. This is the more cartoon version of them, bit like the Buffy T-Shirt.

Hello Kitty punk outfit for a child, I keep looking at this and changing it. I like it ..then I don't. I will see what you guys think of it.

My next venture was a request to make a real mismatch punky outfit...and it's exactly that!

Scars and Dirty Faces for Sims 3

Comming soon on TSR: a set with Scars and a set with Dirty Faces for Sims 3.  They can be used in combiniation with eachother: the dirty faces work as a blush, and the scars can be found under face masks.

They're fully recolorable, and have custom icons for easy recognizing in the launcher.

My TSR Bday

Im starting a new set iits going to be an urban, Town housey thing. I think its gonna look cute! Its going to have NO custom content and probably be about 3 to 5 homes! BUT I have been away for 5 days. I have to catch up! Im gonna start building! Thanks to all!

I just noticed that I flew by the 10,000 downloads mile marker. That done less than 10 months from my first of 18 submissions! Thanks SO MUCH to all you downloaders that make life possible here at TSR. You are the all important consumer and I plan on supplying you with even greater works as I continue to learn just how far these amazing building tools will go.

Here's a character that I've always made in every iteration of The Sims. She often ends up as the classy, mis-guided, absent-minded girl of the neighborhood that everyone wants to hook up with but can't.

I call her Starla.

Her colors are mostly pale, pearly, and sometimes glittery. For the Sims 3 I started to pair her up with some greens and oranges.

Starla is the type of girl you'd find in an underground San Francisco party standing out of the crowd with her faux 60s outfit. She's always ready for photography which unabashedly ends up on her facebook :p

The Sims 3 Fashion Design

I started playing TS3 a few days ago and instantly fell in love with the CAS and the pattern matching / creation system. So much so I'm inspired to start a blog showcasing some of the stuff I've been doing with the CAS.

I'll try to link or point to the patterns I'm using whenever I can. It's hard since TS3 doesn't tell you the name or author in the UI.

Late 50s Era

Lauren is one of my first models that I created. Here she's wearing a late-50s inspired jacket with matching hair and make-up.

Same period style swimwear although I started to mess around with the textures a bit, discovering some wonderful uses of wood textures.

I can't imagine these being too comfortable but here they are.

Holiday

The next view weeksk I'm on holiday in the southern of France, so new downloads must wait. There is 1 new upcomming house, but thats it the next weeks there will be none. I hope the architecture in France will inspire me for new buildings, and interiors. Everybody happy holiday or happy .... (something else) and  much fun!

Hello, im back.. quick update.

Hey every1! Hope everyone is enjoying there summer! No complaints on my end, i got back from vacation last week had lots of fun and experienced many memorable moments with my lovely family (My daughter is getting so big and i'm so amazed at how much she's learning everyday! Having a child is definately my greatest achievement in life. I'll post pics soon.) Oh and i started a new job which im excited about, higher pay than my previous one so thats def. a plus =)

As for my favorite hobby, sims, i still not amped about sims3 (its actually sitting on my shelf collecting dust as i type this) . I'm still sticking to sims2, havent really played much since the weather has been decent and im trying to soak up as much sun as i can before september comes along and its back to the same old routine.. school, home, work, blah, blah..

I am working on a new story however. a shorter series than my last but i hope you guys will enjoy it just the same. I should be done by sometime next week but maybe not.. we'll see. Well thats all for now folks, happy simming! -Jari

I still can't have custom content yet. :(  But that doesn't mean that I don't still keep my eye out on what everyone is creating......eventually I'm hoping my computer troubles will be over & my game will run right. ;)  But it isn't any of the creators' fault that I don't download......so why should my inability to have cc mean they don't get a pat on the back for a job well done?  So I'll still keep stopping in & commenting on new cc even though I don't get to enjoy it......it's bad enough the creators miss out on me as a downloader. ;)

DragonQueen's Lair

Hello everybody, especially DragonQueen!

I've started to build Dragon's Lair in my rebuilt Riverview. Well, even if it got classy, 40x40 lot was probably too small to put it into very mountain, but it's dungeon anyway, and will have more tree cover afterwards.

Here are some of my first screenshots. It's far from production state and totaly unfurnished/undecorated. But i want to get the opinion, especially from my inspiratoress..

Turning the tables!

Normally the way things go around here is that a few people make THINGS like walls & floors, clothing, things found in build or buy mode with in the game......and then tons of us gobble them up & enjoy them in our games.  Well I can't make anything like that; I don't know how to recolor anything let alone mesh stuff.  I have however been one of the throngs of people/players who downloaded & enjoyed those things that the artistic & talented few among us have created.  Well I'm not saying that I'm some super duper builder......BUT!  I would like to offer to anyone but especially those who have given up so many hrs of time they could have been playing with Sims to make stuff for us; I'd like to make for you for a change.  No I'm not offering this cuz I think I'm some special builder of lots or pets.  I'm just offering the only thing I can aside from my thanks.  And so if there are any arteests out there that have been wanting their pet made for Sims or a lot of some sort.......all you ever need do is ask.

At this moment I am working on a mans punky T-Shirt (I know, I don't usually make mens clothing...not sure why) I have a design of a house I want to try out and there are some meshes which I have downloaded from TSR, so looking to make some outfits from those.

Haven't worked on a lot today, as I have been sooo tired (my twins have been poorly and had me up most nights this week) But...I am looking to do some tomorrow and upload them by tomorrow night.

May be I should put up a poll, then I can ask you what Tops you love most. Girly, punk, goth, funny...... If anyone reading this would love to see more of a certain top for a certain age, gender PM me and I can see what I can do.

I am thinking of making more Sims for Sims 3, I would love to make famous people to be honest. It is a bit easier with this sliders mod that someone has brought out, but that means all the people who download the Sim will have to also download the mod..and you may not want to put something like that on your machine. Any thoughts on this, please leave a comment...or drop me a pm. :)

My New Sims 3 Clothes!

Hello all!

I am publishing my new sims 3 clothes tomorrow. 2 clothing sets, 1 one for women and 1 for men. I made these clothes using TSR workshop, which will soon be released! It's a very easy to use program and it's very functional too. It's a blast to be able to create again.

I am also working on an underwear set for women, and a hair set for men. So stay tuned!

My First Day Back On TSR

MY God!!!! I forgot about my TSR, Until i visited my Sims 2 profile and saw a comment about a few pieces of outfits that a certain simmer wanted someoe to make for them. And this is when I realized that I had not been on for a whole hot minute. Well today I uploaded a few ScreenShots and hope to be able to upload some of my New homes that I have created on the Sims2 and The Sims3. Well this is all for now. I will hope to blog about something more soon. 

Progress being made

I've finally got the Sunshine Bath walls and floors coming out tomorrow for you with a few extra versions.

Also the Golden East Bedroom set will be out soon as well.

I finally got my PCs to talk to each other so the transfer of data should proceed fairly quickly.

Now I just have to worry with installing all the applications.

Upcoming cosmetics UM Q Watershine Gloss

Finally after few stressing weeks I had time to create again. I made a set of 10 shiny glosses that match all skin types. I focused on a watershine effect and so i added a mix of my old textures on this (new) one.

Hope that you'll like this set as i do. Really proud in the end :)

Vintage Patterns

Patterns! You get very addictive with making patterns and it´s a bit hard sometimes to get inspired to make new combinations as there are so many creators here. You would think that it is simple but I have seen when I´ve been making one pattern that it has already been done and this means it´s better to start a new one. This happens now and then.

I found a website some time ago with Vintage wallpaper patterns from 1910-1980. Many pages with little pictures of the actual pattern close-up. But unfortunately many of them are hard to transfer into a pattern for the game as it´s too big or there are too many colors and to try and just get it together just makes it blurry or smudgy.

But some are very nice and usable. Here are 3 examples I have done. One is already published and the other 2 I have submitted.

I made 3 versions of the Delicate flower from 1920. On rough cloth, normal cloth and on leather.

I hope you will like these different textures. I think it looks great in the brown but you can of course create a style yourself. This I find is a great feature in Sims 3. For example here is a pattern I´m working on right now. I´m testing it in CAS

You can really get a different look with different colors combinations.

When I pick the colors for the pattern when it´s finished I usually use this site: Color Scheme Designer 3

 I will continue to make patterns from this site, I have a few in making right now.

I'am in the process of building my first lot for the sims 3. i stoped playing the sims 2 a few week's ago and i doubt i will be returning to it. i did play sims 3 when it first came out but my laptop broke and my pc had to be upgraded to be able to handle the sims 3 and it is good to be back playing and creating for the sims again. anyway i have a built a lot called pretty in pink ofr the sims 2 and have started to build it for the sims 3. my sims 2 version went down really well. so here is a sneak peek at my sims 3 version, bear in mind i still have to landscape this lot and add more to it outside. :)

Trouble uploading

I'm having some trouble uploading my sims this weekend, is anyone else?

After I've located my file and clicked 'Upload' it thinks for a while then takes me to a blank white page saying 'Don't know what to do with /php7L1drN'. I thought maybe it was my file so I resaved my sim in CAS and tried again but still the same thing.

It seemed to work yesterday afternoon, could the submissions page be down?

Finally - you CAN now get rid of those red chimneys!!!

You can finally use that beautiful large fireplace in your medieval castles without suffering a stupid-looking red chimney!  It's all very simple to do.  My tutorial, Zap The Red Chimney! shows you how (which a good thing really, because it wouldn't be much of a tutorial if it didn't).

You can either remove the chimney completely and replace it with your own built design or you can move it to another part of your building - it doesn't need to be joined to the fire).  And even if you make your own replacement chimney, you'll see that you can still keep the smoking part, as shown in the picture on the left.  And yes, you can even place the smoking part in different places too.  For a bemused Sim family, place it under the toilet after grandpa has just been (okay - I didn't just say that - can someone delete please?)

Works with all chimneys and the stove flu-pipe too!

Five hundreth

Hello

Today I have past the five hundreth downloads. It's not so big but I'm proud and it's not so bad on 9 days. I'll thank everyone that download my sims, leave a comment and bookmarked me. I'll do my best to give you amazingsims in the future. And I begin a little bit to understand paint shop pro. You can do amazing things with that program. I have try to upload 2 sims today. Jack nicholson and David Beckham but apparantly there is a problem with the upload system. I can't upload them. I hope it resolved soon.

Guestbooks and ungratefulness

Yeah... this time I can't access my guestbook or anybody else's, as there seems to be some problem with the site.

But I do appreciate your comments more than I like cookies. I really do. In fact, I'm kinda spoiled right now. I just don't know where I put my tiara. I may have left it in the cookie pit.

Screenshots!

After much frustration, I finally figured out how to take screenshots and post them.  My previous method of PrtScrn-ing it and then pasting into Microsoft Paint wasn't working out for me because the format was wrong so I took some in game and then I went digging around through my Sims folder to see where screenshots are located at.  Huzzah!  Now that I know how to do it, I sense a monster in the making :P  Now if I could just figure out to get rid of the grids when I take shots.. >.>
