A Proud 40,000 Downloads
Considering I'm a newbie and only started creating and submitting early this year, I felt I have achieved and more importantly Improved so much that I can honestly say I'm proud of myself!!
I dont care that I'm not recognised as a good submitter, but I am happy, and there has been atleast One person who always comes back and has a squiz at my creations everytime! So when I find time and time again that they are downloading my new stuff... it means I am doing well!!
As most of you other creators out there!!
I may not be all up with meshing and all those difficult recolours, but i do try! And thank you, to especially Liana - www.lianasims2.net for helping me understand how to recolour someone else's mesh with permission! She does have free downloads and does have rules that I can abide by! You should never be afraid to ask for help!! So thanks again.
So far I have two of her meshes from her site, One personally made by her, and the other was a donation mesh from Ulkrhsn! So thank you!
Anyway, as far as NEW recolours goes. I have two winter outfits in a set, three summer outfits for teens in a set, two hair revamps (cut/colour style) which includes a home made facepainted fringe, which looks great (But you will find that with all recoloured hair that it is a different colour to most, feel free to recolour yourself!! Once uploaded) and four eye shadows in a set! These a very nice colours as well!!
Unfortunatly due to something wrong with the uploading process, I cant seem to upload any of my creations. I have already sent a detailed message to the support team, but I am still eagerly waiting for a reply, so i must be paitent!!
And my wonderful winter wear following....

Also At TS3 Exchange :)
New here and uploaded my very first offer here, Marilyn Mantel :)
I have several other Sims over at the Exchange at TS3. You can check out MJsCreatures Page (that's me) to see what else you might like for your own game.

Hoping to get a better understanding of the Sims 3 Workshop so I can improve on my own designed patterns. Right now things seem to be slightly fuzzy though I am following the instructions on creating the 3 color channel image. Love what others here are turning out, just wonderful!
Wanted! Dead or Alive - Baby Thief
Poor Woody and Lin, their day old baby daughter was kidnapped by the very babysitter they had trusted. The teen had been so sweet and innocent, so concerned that Lin continue practicing her Chess moves, and Woody finish up that last chapter in his latest drama.
Then wham! "I gotta go now!" and she's gone with baby Jenna <cry>
Soon!
Okay, so soon I'll probley WILL have somethin submitted. I'm workin on swim and formal. Sooner or later I will be workin on EveryDay. But right now, making stuff is VERY low on my list.
I'm working on making a series for a small writing project im working on. It should be up sometime in July or August. If not later.

Starting to build new computer...
So, I love the Sims. Like, LOVE the Sims. I used to be able to play the Sims 2 on my computer until I moved and the vid card died. Then everything else started crashing. With being poor its been hard to upgrade, but now that I will finally be moving and paying less bills on my own, its time to build.
And now, the Sims 3 is out! Everyone at work has it and I want to play it so bad. So starting now, the computer is going to be built. Probably just getting the case and maybe something else small for it this weekend, since I don't want to blow all my money at once. But soon, yes soon precious and I will play the Sims and then post things here! Yay
On a side note, kinda bummed that the Sims site now is pay for their objects. Good job EA...
Making houses overshadowing life!
Oh dear, I think I've caught the bug of making residential lots.
The last few days I've made 3-4 homes a day, taking on average only 2 hours to build and completely furnish them. I've set so many pre-content stuff that I can now furnish pretty quickly so that's really good. I just seem to have become addicted to making them for the moment, and just can't stop myself! I find myself sitting at work pondering my next building project and neglecting my duties for my own business, not good! Perhaps I'll set a 3 house limit for myself today. I already made one this morning, but I have to go get ready for work now so I can't make another until later today.
Oh well, I guess I'll just draw up the next one until I have time to build it, haha!
Also one more thing, I'm so glad so many people like the look of my lots, hundreds of downloads so far, makes me feel good :)
Thank you!
I just want to extend my heartful thanks to TSR and to all the ones who supported ne in the Lot Building competition! I still can't believe I won!
Thanks again!
TSR Challenges?
I see quite a few people have bookmarked me - probably hoping for new creations, so I want to say sorry for keeping you waiting but right now I'm just downloading a bit of this and that and getting to know Sims2 again and the expansion packs I didn't have back then before I quit. Still can't believe I'm actually playing again ;-)
My spare time is very limited so please bear with me, it could take a while.
Meanwhile I'm thinking of taking on a TSR challenge. I always thought that was a neat idea - I'm just hesitating because I had so many technical problems with Sims 2 in the past (one reason why I quit it - the other being my limited free time) and don't know how it will affect my game if I install the challenge wizard (or whatever it is called). Well - and besides I still have to discover so many things in the game itself ;-)
Anyway - if you're reading this - tell me if you have ever played any challenges and your experiences with it, I'm curious :-)
----------------
Edit on Sept. 8th: Stupid me forgot to enable comments - never noticed they were turned off by default. Now corrected that for all my posts (except the first one - strangely that was the only one with comments enabled - well, anyway...) so.... I'm still looking for someone who wants to tell me about those challenges and their experience :-)
new walls and floors coming soon

Hi everyone, I just uploaded 2 more sets you can look forward to them soon. mskitty
Many creations waiting...
for completition :D
I build two houses this week, but they are not furnished (i will furnish them tomorow or thurday). I want to build a third house, the idea for the house is already in my mind ;)
I want to create houses for a special theme, i call the theme "City Houses"
The two houses that i build:

Ip hope you like it :)
About a long list of 20 people who nearly won
I ran into the blog posted by gissence and after reading it I was also just curious which creations on the "list of 20" just didn't make the shortlist of 6. Congratulations to the winners ofcourse! Needless to say! It's good I'm no cat...it would kill me (being this curious)... It would be a nice recognition of the runner uppers...
An Intersting Experiment
I was just reading the forums here at TSR and notice an interesting experiment someone was doing. The person has a child and her parent homeless, their homelot is just a field with a couple benches.
I think this would be an interesting story to try and recreate. You can find the original idea for all this at.

Sims 2 -bring it on!
I am going to be installing Sims 2 on this new machine plus all expansion packs, which is great as this weekend I can start making more Sims 2 goodies. (Hey I should be painting, but that can wait a little longer-I mean my kitchen is not going anywhere! )
Great news for Sims3 lot uploaders who use custom textures!
With the help of beta testers here (thank-you to all involved), availability of empty games with and without Riverview installed and other entities, I've been testing custom patterns in uploaded lots. Each lot was built and processed for sharing in the normal way (clicked the 'share' button for the lot in Edit Town, then collect the Sims3Pack from the Export folder).
The results are fantastic news!
- EA-modified patterns package and install perfectly (of course)
- Custom (made-from-scratch) patterns package and install too - provided they're Sims3Pack-installed patterns*
- Custom patterns installed with a lot add themselves to the downloader's Create-A-Style tool, making them fully reusable
- As an additional bonus, the EA-made paving slab that came with Riverview neighbourhood packages and installs in a non-Riverview game too!
* Note: we have ONLY tested patterns made as Sims3Pack files with the TSR Workshop. We have tried a non-Sims3Pack file (a .package file) pattern made with another tool and the .package file did not install with the lot. Therefore, these results can only apply to Workshop-made Sims3Packs for now.

Things I've Learned About Sims 3
I have to say that in coming from Sims 2, I had a lot of expectations about things that didn't really play out quite that way. If you're a Sims 2 player moving to Sims 3, you've got to look at it with new eyes, so to speak, because there are things that are just different but might easily missed when working from Sims 2 expectations. Here's some of the stuff I discovered so far!
Muffins Are Meat
What's that you say? Toddlers make meat muffins in their tiny play ovens? They sure do. This makes me look at my neice's Easy-Bake oven with something of an eye askew. I mean, meat muffins from a toy oven? Gack! Nevertheless, if your vegetarian toddler eats a muffin from these things, they'll get sick and vomit. Chalk one up for "weird Dev decisions".
Toddlers ...
So the first thing that got me was that Children and Toddlers can't interact anymore. Not at all The Child can't get the Toddler a bottle from the fridge, can't play with their toys with them, can't make faces at them, tickle them, chat with them. It's almost like they live in separate but parallel realities. It was really nice in Sims 2 when you had a lonely Child who could then talk to the toddler, but no, that's not possible anymore.
I was also a little baffled by the learning that Toddlers do. They seem to get benefits from, say, the pegbox or the xylophone, but those don't show up anywhere. Parents can read to them, too, and the game will eventually say they've "learned all they can" from a book, but again, no sign of what they learned anywhere. This does eventually show up, though -- if a teen who gained some xylophone education picks up a guitar later their guitar skill will start at at least one, and maybe up to three. So far I've figured out that xylophone does guitar skill, and that the pegbox does logic skill. There are various kiddy art books they can be read which gains them painting skill.
While toddlers can play with the block table, it doesn't seem to do them any good, however Children gain mechanical skill with it. I've yet to find a way to get an early head start on Charisma, which I always liked to do for my Sims while they were kids and it was still fun.
Classes
I had a hard time figuring out where to send my Sims for their various classes. They like to learn in them and, hey, it's quick. But It took me forever to figure out that Sims learn to write at the Corporate HQ (the Sims devs obviously haven't been reading the same corporate correspondence I have). I made myself a list of places to get classes:
- Corporate HQ: Writing class
- Sports Stadium: Athletic class
- Any restaurant: Cooking class
- Military Base: Handiness class
- Research Facility/Science Center: Logic class
- Theatre: Guitar class
- City Hall: Charisma class
- Grocery: Fishing class
- Community School: Painting class
Mom's Diet Influences Baby's Gender
That was a weird one -- and I'd never have guessed but I read it in the forums and it's always worked for me so far (though they say it's not 100%). Eating apples makes the gender tend toward male and eating watermelons trends it toward female. Apparently at least three servings should be consumed by mom during the pregnancy. It's also good to know that these can be eaten as parts of other food (cobbler, pancakes, &c.), or just raw from mom's inventory.
Move That Mailbox and Style That Trashcan
Holy cow the lot mailbox and trashcan are finally movable with the hand tool -- and styleable with the recolor tool! It's so nice to be able to put them out of sight, or make them into less of an eyesore altogether!
Rubber Ducky, Your'e the One!
And they make bathtime lots of fun, too! Your Sims can buy bubblebath and rubber duckies at the local grocery. Once home, just move them onto the edge of the bathtub. The ducky makes your Sim happier with their baths, and the bubbles enable the "take bubblebath" option on the tub. Mmmm, scrubbing bubbles!
Can you publish the top 20?
Congratulations to the 6 building competition winners. Vanity and sheer morbid curiosity compels me to simply ask the TSR staff if they could reveal the top 20 list that they mentioned. Think of it as an "honorable mention" catagory.
My Lots
Well I hate it when someone decides to change the rules mid stream. TSR changed the upload rules. 9 of my lots that they had approved in the last 3 weeks have been sumarily rejected cause they now don't want to use the default pictures that the game exports with the lot. Pretty much I have to go back in do ingame screenshots and turn around and get them reapproved.
This will be extremely difficult to do as it seems my fix for my overheating problems has failed as my CPU topped 116 degrees Celsius last night after playing Ghostbuster the Video Game. Which is at least 50 degrees over the recommended temps for this processor.
I may try to runs Sims 3 and see if it continues to overheat. If it does then this round of overheatiing is not the fault of the program. If so then I am likely going to have to take it in and get it checked out. Again if that is the case I will not be able to get the lots that I need to get screenshots reapproved or build new ones.
Edit: Well its not just Ghostbusters as my CPU temps go up running Sims 3 also. So far I have had them top at least 80. Right now my idle temp is around 70 though and that is a tad high still as recommended for this processor is still 5 degree below that.
Anyways I managing to get my screenshots. I take the screenshots for a specific lot, minimize. Get them ready via photoshop, if they need it and then upload. While the game of course is minimize my temps go back to the 70 degrees for idling. Given time my lots should be back up and ready for download as early as this weekend depending on when TSR gets around to reapproving. Which they should do anyways since they were approved to begin with, before the rule change.
Problem with the submission of TS3 items
Hi!
For two weeks, I tried to upload my TS3 creations on TSR but there is a problem with the submission area. When I try to upload a sim, for example, a blank page appears and my sim is not present in the file storage. I tried to contact the members on the forum guidelines but no one answered.
So, I am forced to submit my creations in other sites. This is not a good thing for me.
My exams are over! :P
I had my last exam today, so the summer began for me now. I will publish Susan's and Edie's house from the Desperate Housewives soon, and I'm working on a party time dress set to Sims2.
Rebuilding Riverview: introduction
REBUILDING RIVERVIEW
I have posted several lots from my Rebuilding Riverview work few days ago, but it is far to the end. I'm still working on all the town, but central island looks already into its form, at least there is what to show - enjoy the view from the roof of the Town Hall (screenshot below)

2 lots are already published: Criminality Reslax Hangout - located near warehouse in industrial part of town, and Kultanlasi Museo (Golden Glass Museum) in front of Cinema. I've got the approval for another 2 lots submitted and at the moment they are in queue. Roman style pool should come out today - screenshot below: left side between SPA and groceries. Grand Royal Library is scheduled for tomorrow - screenshot below: right, between bookstore and bistro.

Other mystery will be to release parks - they alone are 4 lots by now, as you can see from the above and below screen shots (from top by above) - heart lake with playground and octagonal restroom (1), Memorial Plaza (2), Trigofou Alley (3) and Oak Park (4) on the right acting as parking lot/pavement support for the library. Plus some tiny modifications to original Cinema, Grocery, Bistro, SPA, Bookstore and Town Hall. These modifications are neatly inserted big fig trees everywhere but Town Hall, where golden marmoreal stripes went to.

It's 5 AM now and sun is shining clearly in the sky in Helsinki - time to sleep...
In the meanwhile - enjoy the view to the Grand Royal Library from one of the bridges to the main Long Island...

to be continued!
Two new patterns headed your way!

The first pattern is a masonry/metal peeling paint texture (shown in both left and right pictures). It works a treat for masonry, wood and even metal (it's especially great for rust effects). Unlike the faded fabric pattern I made last week, this one is very easily redesignable in the game and so you should be able to make heaps of variations!
The second pattern is realistic brickwork! I am no fan of the game's brickwork at all. Far too new, clean-looking - almost artificial. So I wanted a brickwork that not only looked more realistic, but was completely and easily recolourable too! And I've done it at last: as well as the default pale red (shown below), I've made dark red Victorian, charcoal engineering brick, blue painted brick, damp mossy brick... Very, very happy with this texture! Both will be released later this week.

My Sims 3 Website
If you love Sims3 stuff like I do, check out my brand new Sims3 blog site, which is stuffed with all my favorite Sims 3 Challenges, Custom Content/ Downloads, Sims 3 "COMEDY TV", Tutorials, Videos, etc.: http://sims3favorites.blogspot.com. It's not completely finish; but I'm working on it. So please stop by and take a look.
So far am Impressed
So far I am impressed at the effort TSR has put into the Sims 3 side of the site. I don't dole out compliments very often, but I feel credit should be given where credit is due, and after the frustrations of the change over, and waiting weeks, months, years for approvals, etc, I have to say it is a PLEASANT surprise to find that submitting Sims 3 lots is -for me, and I hope for every one- a much simpler process. I foresee a sudden influx of very talented builders who would have, heretofore, gone unnoticed in Sims 1 or Sims 2. I can only hope that choosing Sims 3 SA's and FA's is more fair this time around and not always a seemingly cliquish popularity contest (And of you are one of those that think this isn't true, then you are probably part of the clique  ).
A great pattern resource, Colourlovers.com
If you are a pattern maker, I suggest checking out this website: www.colourlovers.com
It is a great resource! I often have difficulty trying to figure out the best color palette to use in my patterns (for preview purposes, of course), and this website is awesome! Their users can post lists of colors that work well together. Definitely bookmark worthy, I suggest you check it out!
The Sims 3
Hey simmers! I am getting the hang of the sims 3 and I like it, but I do miss the sims 2. I tend to go back and make more lots! But Does anyone know of ep's for the sims 3. Are we going to be able to go away on vacations, into stores, etc. I am still new to this so any input would help! How is everyone liking the sims 3?
New Items
Hey everyone, sorry about not haveing anything published yet. I need to do a few more things then I'll be on a roll! So it will be like 1 or 2 more days, but I promise that I'll have atleast 3 sets published really soon.
- Swimsuits
- Underwear
- Like some summer kind of clothes
No Sims were harmed during Removal of the Ladder
My latest Sims 3 lot (a trashed-up horrible little play-park called Bless The Little Dears) has no ladder to the pool. Before anyone starts pointing fingers, it was a totally deliberate act on my part.
Why?
Well, I just got sick of stupid Sims piling into the tiny (meant to be paddling) pool and ENJOYING THEMSELVES! They were supposed to be having a beastly time. So I took the ladder away. I hasten to add that, unlike a small and unmentionable incident back in early Sims 2 days, I did this time wait until all Sims had climbed out of the pool before removing the ladder. RIP poor 'Robert 'of Sims 2. In memorium to a boy who'd just reached his teenage years; who in March 2005 drowned in an incident that could only be described as unmitigated cruelty...
Well, I couldn't resist. I HAD to see what would happen if I took the ladder away. I mean: I thought he'd just climb out! Or something. Stupid Robert. RIP (Rest In Puddles).
EDIT: Midnight's right - stupid Sims can STILL go in the pool. I want to find out how we can drain water out of pools. Anyone up for making a hack?
BLOG STORY!!
http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=97173006837&h=z7iD0&u=-hPxz&ref=mf <--check out my new blog :) i have my latest story posted. please comment :)! FIRST SIMS 3 STORY of mine.
ABOUT THE OCEANVIEW RISE LOT
I am so sorry to all of you but it seems as though I have forgotten to put a door in the garage! Such a small but important detail to overlook and I feel embarrased about it! I'll be updating the submission with a new file (with the door added already, which is the only revision i'll be making) as soon as I g et hom around 4 hours from the time of posting. Sorry again!

2 Million Downloads!
Wow! I went over 2 million downloads today. :) Back in August I experimented with my first RC and I never even imagined reaching 1 million. I want to thank all of you wonderful Simmers out there for your support ( and downloads) .
My first submissions!
I have been coming to TSR for a long time, probably around two years now, back when I started to play TS2, long after it's official release, I was amazed at what you could download here. I've always been really thankful to all the artists who's work made me enjoy my game even more. Because let's face it, EA's official content is generally old fashioned and somewhat icky.
I hope that before long TS3 will get the same kind of REAL custom content, not like it is now, but with our own sofa's, beds and building objects, I really miss them! For now, I am sticking to housing, and today I have built and funished three that I have submitted earlier. I am just waiting for them to all go through.
Thanks to everyone who's made my game better, I now finally contribute and hope my work makes someone else happy too! :)
New Poll
I have a new poll out regarding Sims 3 downloads. I hope you'll drop by and complete it.
I'm plunging ahead with lots, Sims and patterns in Sims 3.
Will be having some Crown Moldings appearing from time to time. Thanks to Black Garden for the idea.
Will see what other patterns I can come up with.
As always if you have any ideas, suggestions, helpful criticisms, etc., feel free to PM, write in my guestbook or otherwise make your thoughts known. I enjoy myself more when I'm making things that you like.
I'm also going to try to upload some screenshots for you.
About 10 days left until my new PC arrives!
Enjoy your games and have a great time!
If I did this, would you be interested?
I'm thrilled we can now make custom patterns from scratch for Sims 3. I've uploaded one already, and I have a few more to come.
However, for most textures I need, the in-game EA patterns are more than enough when modified. But I also know of another player who simply hasn't the patience and would rather download ready-textured sets. So, the question I'm asking is: if you prefer PLAYING, can YOU be bothered to paint everything yourself? That is: would you be interested in downloading small (and free) ready-recoloured themed sets to save you the bother of creating them yourself? If so, I'll upload my recoloured objects (I have two small sets at the moment: trashed-up bathroom and trashed-up park equipment). They can easily be recoloured without changing the trashy look so they're simple to use.
If there is interest, they probably won't be uploaded at TSR (TSR only accepts brand new custom patterns - not object recolours) but I have another location lined up. Let me know what you think. Interested, or not interested in downloading themed, EA-retextured objects? Add your comments below - and thanks for your input!

Screenshots + Downloads
I just love this game the more I play it. I've opened up The Sims 2 only once since getting Sims 3 and it was so odd. I only opened it up to get a screenshot to edit, otherwise it would've been weird playing my old legacy family. I know some people refuse to buy or even try Sims 3, but they really don't know what they're missing. No offense to EA, but the screenshots and videos they provided for advertising kinda suck. People who want to buy should look at screenshots from real players who went out and bought the game. For example, a community friend of mine, Mel Calero is doing some excellent things with sims photos artistically. I just love all of her pictures!
I'm definitely still having fun making celebrities and am now just getting into swatches, which was challenging at first but I think I'm getting the hang of it!
These are all available for download now from my page.
