New Lot

I am working on a new lot. It is a three bedroom 1930 Montgomery Ward Amerian Four Square Design that is slightly modified with a back porch area . It is based off of the house that I live in and will be on the largest medium lot. It will be slightly Art Deco in feel as it was built in 1930 at the end of the Art Deco era.

Naughty or Nice Simming

I have a confession to make: I love killing off my Sims in horrible ways. I like making them lose their tiny minds. Oh, sure, there are Sim families that I treat well and nurture, but I have a habit of taking out my aggressions and frustrations with the world on my innocent Sims.

So I'm curious: do you play naughty or nice with your Simmies? Do you raise happy families or torture them with degradation and despair? Do you do a bit of each? I just wonder.

New Creation Submitted

I have now submitted a piece of Clothing. It a top for males. The age Group is Adult and Young adult. I am waiting for it to be approved. I know your going to asked me why not for woman and younger groups.  The rest of the NFL Teams shirts... I am working on each set or group.

Sooo sorryy!!! Stories Hiccup!!

My stupid retarded computer was having issues!! It kept crashing, I know why it was crashing but I kept ignoring it. But then the other day, I thought 'I should fix my stupid computer now' and so I did and I fixed my crashing problem. But I also lost some of my custom content in the process so I'm like fine that's alright I'll just download the content again. But then my game was all blurry!!! I know how to fix it, but when I tried the program, it wouldn't work!!! So now I have to fix my program, so I can fix the blurriness, so I can fix my game, so I can download the content again, and then continue my stories. But if I can't fix the program, I'll have to un-install and re-install all my expansion packs.

So I don't know how long that will take, so the main point is that my stories will be delayed for however long it takes me to fix them. Which could be up to a week or two, because I'm swamped with homework.

So i'm sorry, if there's anyone who's waiting for the next parts. But I'm doing everything I can.

Adventures of Bowman Series

The time has come to read Chapter 1.3 and then vote of  your favorite one to be heir/ness?  I will count each vote and once  I close the voting you I will announce it in Chapter 2.0. So keep coming back... I hope to surprise you with some things. Have any Suggestions or Questions just ask me?- I may plan on bring more stories to the TSR Site... Please take CAREFUL note!

Hi all

I have noticed something straaaange. 

With my first recolour upload more people have downloaded the curtain rail rather than the curtain itself!  Now maybe people just like the pink rail more ..... I don't know but I did ensure that the preview pic had an outline around the rail.  So if your wondering why you have a lovely pink rail (If I do say so myself) and no stunning curtain to match well now you know!  So please take care to note the preview pic.  Also by hovering your cursor over the name read the WHOLE description so you know exactly what you are getting.   No one has complained to me about this, it is just something I have noticed, and as stated previously maybe the rail WAS the intended download! Im sure pink rails are very popular.  I have nothing against rails.

If a mesh I decide to recolour has 2 subsets (eg cushions and couch that you can mix and match) I will create a seperate package for each so please please please be aware of what you are downloading, ensure you have the meshes and most of all ENJOY!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.  I will try and make sure the names of my recolours are clearer in the future also (I like to give credit to the mesh creators but I think the naming process may have to be re-thought out)

Adventures of Bowman Series

Today Adventures of Bowman series have been added so far. The Introduction though Chapter 1.2 of Adventures of Bowman has been approved and published. Today I have submitted Chapter 1.3 of Adventures of Bowman. I so hope to be able to get a poll up for this Generation Heir/ness poll. Working on something new....

Well I am sorry for my less updates but school needs really much time now...but not much time anymore and i can restart meshing with a lot of ideas...

Story Release!

Back up and running

My computer is back thank goodnesss. I have just finished re-installing everything and have begun an apartment lot. I just finished decorating it and tomorrow I will be packaging and lot testing it. Then after a clean install I will be submitting it here. I may do a beta run with it on Wella Creations first just to see how it goes. I am so glad my computer is up and running again. i missed my game so much.

Kitchen and Bath Recolors

The first in a set of recolors of the Kitchen and Bath appliances will be out tomorrow. I hope you enjoy them. I've added Pink to the usual set of 21 colors so I wouldn't end up making a separate Pink set afterwards.

The Floppy Cushion Living Rooms will still continue and I've started work on another bedroom recolor that you might find interesting.

I have some other ideas that I'm wanting to try, but it'll depend on the time available. As usual if you have an idea, let me know. Can't guarantee I'll do it (or be able to), but I'll at least consider it.

Thinking about trying some more clothing and other things too.

Creating a story

I started to create a story. This will be my first. This will be connected to one of the TSR challenges I am currently playing. I introduced a character - a young man - whose looks and partial behaviour was inspired by my ex-boyfriends (well, from long ago in my teenagehood), so it's personally funny. I still have a problem finding good male hairs for my sim boys, though.

Work that body!

Recently, I was asked to make some eighties-style aerobics outfits. I've come up with four variations with a definite eighties vibe.



All the oufits comprise a leotard worn over leggings. Three outfits have an additional top worn over the leotard and two outfits have the classic eighties legwarmers.

All outfits are available for adults and young adults, use a standard Maxis mesh and are base game compatible.

Breezeway Curtains

Once I decided on a pattern for the fabric, these have come along quite quickly. The set includes single, full width, open, corner and diagonal pieces that hang from a track in the ceiling.

I also have the captures done for the Middle/Bottom Rows set of Panorama windows. So I just have to make them into previews and those will be ready to upload.

NOTE: The rug, easy chair and clutter objects in this preview are all from Lirunchik's Invitation set, which I am totally loving right now!

New lots

Heey, In my lost post I told you about my limitless inspiration. Well it resulted in two houses. I submitted them the 18th, but they are still pending. My first lot will be published march 20th so check it out. My inspiration has not dried up jet so you can expect those this month. I also have some nice ideas about some wallpaper, but first I need to find out how to make those. I'll let you know when I submitted them. The rest of my day I will be studying, working in the hospital and relaxing. I hope I have some spare time left his evening so I can play for master architect(lol). Renske

Yes, literally!

Hello everyone! It`s been a while since I`ve uploaded some new stuff, and that`s for 2 reasons -

1. My Milkshape decided to refuse any further cooperation with me - when ever I try to make a hair/body mesh, it crashes! I`ve done everything I could (the problem is with Unimesh plugin and the "bone weight" tool), and for the time being I`m stuck with making textures. NOT that I`m regreting it ;)

2. As of last week, I too am a proud Deviant! I decided to publish my sketches to get some feedback from the people who know a bit more about the whole CG and Photoshop world, and I`ve been keeping myself busy with reading tutorials, books and such...I still have a long way to go, but if you got some free time, check out http://markothesketchguy.deviantart.com/ and comment either here or there...as you like ;)

New formals set on the way. I promise! As for new hair meshes...not so soon, I`m afraid. Win some, loose some, I guess.

delayed releases

Just a quick update. Although I have several ready, my sets are all a littel delayed. I have too many things going on at the moment, amongst them a final exam in less than two weeks. Therefore I haven't had as much of a chance to come online and upload my next few. I am hoping to be able to that this weekend, so several sets should be releasing in the next week or so.

The Sims 3 - What's new anyway?

Today I was lucky enough to be invited to London to experience The Sims 3 hands on. After a few formalities, we (I think there were 9 of us in all, including two dragged-along partners - one belonging to me) were allowed to get our mitts on the game.

Please, bear in mind, the game we played was a pre-alpha build, and certain features may not be present in, or may differ from the final release.

If you don't want to read potential spoilers about The Sims 3, don't read this!

I dove straight into Create-A-Sim. A lot of the questions that were being asked on the EA UK forums were about different age groups, so I needed to create a family with a variety of age groups.

In the new Create-A-Sim is you can spend as short or as long a time customising each Sim as you like. You can go in, put a name in (you can choose a surname separately for each Sim), and hit the randomise button a few times, or you can get right into the details of their facial features and the patterns of their clothes. The great thing about the way this has been designed is that you don't need to go into all these details unless you want to.

A couple of new things here:

• As some have said, the default skin tones are red, green, blue, and also three shades of "natural" colours (each of which you can slide from light to dark).
  
• You can choose almost all the clothing types by separate tops, bottoms & shoes as well as whole outfits, like you can for everyday wear in TS2 (except with shoe choices too...) and you can set accessories for each outfit separately.

Once your Sim's appearance is customised, it's time to set up their personality and lifetime goal. You can choose from the list of traits, which I won't bother repeating here as the list already exists on lots of other sites, and based on those traits (if your Sim is a Young Adult or older) the game presents you with five lifetime goals to choose from. These range from things like reaching the top of a career to maximising a skill and doing something with that skill (eg. maximising logic and becoming a chess champion). Finally you set up your Sim's favourites: their favourite music, food, and colour.

Again, I'll repeat this point: if you can't be bothered to set all this up, you don't have to. You can just randomise each Sim and then all you have to do is give them a name. That will also randomise their favourites and traits.

So, once you've created all the Sims you want, you set up their relationships. This works the same way it does in TS2. No way of setting up more "complicated" relationships here, like step-parents. The game shows you a lovely portrait of your family, and you can "ok" them to go back to the neighbourhood and move them in.

On the neighbourhood view you'll notice you have loads of space. There are plenty of empty lots with lots of different sizes, and plenty of pre-built houses lying empty. Not being able to place new lots was a concern for me, but there's so much space that this honestly won't be a problem!

The starting money for the family of 6 that I created was 24000 Simoleans. I only created one family so I have no idea if this is the standard starting money.

So I moved my family into a house and got into some gameplay. First thing I noticed? They're independent. They don't need me. Straight away they start to amuse themselves in ways that suit their traits. The "evil" uncle has gone onto the Internet to troll forums. The "athletic" father has wandered off to the gym. The "friendly" child gets on his brand new child's bike and rides to a park to meet friends. The mother with "commitment issues" is chatting up the neighbours. The "family oriented" teen is teaching her little sister to walk. And all of this without me telling them to do a thing.

Getting a job has been made much easier. You simply move out to the map view by clicking the map view button (or using the shortcut which I think was either ctrl+M or just M), and locate the building you want to work in. They're shown on the map view with the symbol for the career, so they're easy to locate. The career tracks are:

Criminal, military, political, medical, athletic, culinary, science, law enforcement, music, journalism, education

And there are also part-time jobs, which you can have from teen through to elder, even as adults or young adults (a great choice for busy parents!):

Bookstore clerk, grocery store clerk, spa receptionist, spa specialist, grave digger

Socialising has also been updated. As you talk to another Sim, some information about them and what they think of you appears in the upper left. If they have any relationship to you (husband, brother-in-law, ex-husband), it'll show this in the top left corner too. As you perform interactions with them it'll give you an idea of what they thought of that interaction. If your Sim, Sim B, flirts with someone who has no interest in them, Sim A, a message might appear like "Sim A thinks Sim B is being weird". If you tell them a joke, you might be "being amusing"... if you flirt and they are interested you might be "being flirty", or even "being irresistible", depending on their relationship level and level of attraction to you.

There are loads of great new interactions which convey more subtle ranges of emotion than the interactions in The Sims 2. For example, if your Sim has been flirting with another Sim for a while, they can "confess attraction" to tell them how they feel about them. Then if that goes well, maybe you'd want to ask if they'd like to "go steady". This is no longer an option just for teens, adults can go steady too now.

Pregnancy is much improved. As before, you can try for baby in bed, or in the science labs, depending on what you prefer. Either way, hearts fall around everywhere... and if you hear the baby chimes, well done, you're pregnant! Cue feeling ill, back pain, and cravings. My pregnant Sim had a craving for dim sum and canned soup!

If your Sim gets back pains during pregnancy, her partner can give her a massage, or she can go to the spa and pay for a massage. There are three types of massage available, some more expensive than others.

But being pregnant can also give your Sim a positive moodlet, so pregnancy is certainly not all bad!

24 hours after falling pregnant, your Sim "realises" she is pregnant, and changes to maternity wear... you peer at their belly... it doesn't seem to have grown. It will grow gradually over the next 48 hours. Better tell your husband you're pregnant before you blow up like a balloon.

That's right, I think my absolute favourite new interaction is "announce pregnancy". You can go to friends, family, and... don't forget your partner... and announce that you're pregnant to them. Just hope they react well... I didn't test this but I wonder how someone who "dislikes children" would react!

Hopefully your partner reacted well. Maybe he'll go and buy you a pregnancy book to help you through your pregnancy. You can carry on with life as normal until the baby's born (except, of course, you get time off work). When the baby's ready to be born you'll get a pop-up in the top right corner of the screen telling you so, and advising you to get your Sim home for a home birth, or to the hospital. I decided to go to the hospital, as obviously that's not something I've seen before. Again, all you do is go to map view, find the hospital, click on it, and choose to go there to give birth. You can also just click the hospital building if you're nearby anyway.

Ready for the cute bit? My Sim's husband was sat in the park reading a book, and he got up and ran to the hospital, and his interaction showed up as "be with mother". Awwwwww! He was a family-oriented Sim, maybe that had some bearing on his behaviour.

On that lovely note, I think I'll leave this blog for today... I have many more notes which I haven't written about, but these were all the main things that struck me as I played. Did I learn the right exam???

Hey,

Today was my exam and most likely did I fail it. Yesterday after my other blog I studied some more and I had the feeling I was going to pass. But this morning, I looked at my exam and I had the feeling a studied the wrong subject. Lucky for me, most people thoughed so too, so maybe I did not do so bad.

But what is there to do after an exam. You buy a new microwave and you think of new lots to design. The first of which I'll be submitting today so you can see it soon.

Well back to my designing, so many ideas and so little time untill my next exam.

WallPaper!

I am glad to see that so many of you seem to enjoy my wallpaper.  i make them mainly for friends, and myself, and sometimes they convince me to post them.  It's nice to see, when I do, they are appreciated.

I am thinking of making a Tacky Set, because you know Sims, they can have the tackiest of things and love them and we enjoy it because we can be tacky without it being a reflection on our own tastes.

Or is it?  lol

An outside lite I had IRL on my front porch a few years ago.

This is just an extely rough drawing of a porch light I had back about 8 or 9 yrs ago, I thought "I'd love to have a porchlight like that for my Sims to use"........so hopefully this is something "do-able". :)

And having received a grand total of 9 downloads for my last set release, I have decided to resubmit them with the promise that they'll download properly this time!! Apparently. Received A New Book!

Finally! I received in the mail today a book it seems I've been waiting forever on, "Blender for Dummies"! Its probably the 4th or 5th tutorial book and/or CD I have gotten about Blender, but there is so much to know about that program, my opinion is, you can never haver too many, because all of them focus on different aspects of the program, and all of them are going to have information exclusive only to that particular book! You'd think with all the books I have I'd be an expert by now, but no--I dont think thats possible, at least not for me! Anyway--the more I know, the happier I'll be, and the better able I'll be to just open up the program and just do anything, and not have to consult one (or three) of my many books on the subject to make sure I am on the right track! And I've got sooooooo many projects in mind I want to try, but I don't think my skill is quite up to par yet on any of them--like the fire-colored glass-textured 3D logo I want to do for a certain un-named band of people I'm interested in doing a fire-colored, glass-textured 3D logo for......just for play, and fits and giggles.

What to do when stressing for an exam

Oh I wish I was a Sims. Then I would not have to study this much. Especially in autum times, when studying goes so well. No I have te work, learn and study some more. And the most stressing part is that I am quite sure that I am going to fail. I want to become docter, no not just an ordinary docter, a docter everybody wants. I want to be the best. And to be the best means learning and studying a lot. But I do not like studying so there is my major problem. However posting a blog on this site does not help much. Just like the other things I have done today (and my exam is tomorrow!!!!!). So I will quit now and start learning again. Maybe, just maybe, will it prevent me from failing.

I am also converting some of my previous adult male skins into child skins for boys. Time permitting, I may even get a chance to submit an Old Town community lot.

March 22nd, Little Princess Bedroom

The Little Princess Bedroom - Part I, is scheduled for publication on March 22, 2009. The little girl's bedroom set features a delightful mixture of yellow and lime green, with a touch of lilac. This is the mesh set, future recolors included a mixture of pink and lilac and yellow and cream. The set's dresser is the master file and is linked to the following slave files: nightstand, hutch, desk, desk chair, vanity table, vanity mirror, bench, ottoman, and display board.

The princess bed is not linked to Maxis bedding and has its own custom bedding. The bedding is also linked to the round end table and desk chair. The canopy curtain is linked to the hutch's curtain and the small doll is linked to the large doll and will use all of its recolors.
