Poetry in the Making

I had a lot of fun making the Edgar Allan Poe poem Annabel Lee. It was almost like a movie set directing the actors to sit a certain way or face a certain direction. It took about 3 days of painstaking editing, going back and forth between the game and photoshop. I wanted each scene to be perfect and to capture the mood of its respective verse.

I've loved this poem for as long as I can remember-it's always been my favorite and Poe has always held a special place in my heart. I was born a writer and have been writing before I could talk. I love to create stories and have about 2 dozen unfinished novels on my laptop. For me, Sims is a way to visualize what goes on in my head. I'm notorious for drafting storyboards in class and writing late at night by the light of a flickering candle.

I'm also a huge details fan and love to take my time with each piece. It's the same way when I throw pottery. I labored over each photo checking the lighting and the objects in each frame. It's a work of love - I hope you like it =)

I'm also thinking of creating a behind-the-scenes story clip to show the lives of my wonderful actors. They were so natural and I fell in love with the seaside cottage the set centered around. We'll see where imagination takes me.

Even More TSO Objects

Since I'm on a roll with the TSO object conversions, I might as well keep going. So...this week I'll be submitting more TSO items. I'm hoping to have a few dressers, some wedding themed stuff, some elevators, and more. It all depends how much free time I get now that tax season has started, and I'm working more hours than usual.

This morning I've found out through the dashboard, that my creations have got many feedback - but unfortunately, they are not available - I guess TSR is working on those issues :) So if you left a comment on one of my creations, be sure I will answer as soon as I can! Feedback is really important to me and I never let a comment without an answer.

Wow, so the next day after my last submission, my computer decided to restart on me every five minutes.  I wasn't able to figure it out, so I took it to my IT guy.  He had some problems too, and then we realized it was my ATI update I had done.  So today is the first time I've had my computer home and running since the 21st.  I'm making myself as a sim, and I'll post her after I figure out who I owe all the credits to and such.  I was thinking about posting my late dog, Spike.  He was a rat terrier. 

I'm probably going to get into clothing here pretty soon, I'm excited about that.  I want to create the shirt that I'm wearing right now, this is why I'm hot (it's a picture of Super Mario's fire flower sitting on the brick it comes out of)

I want to create a pair of ultra wide leg pipe jeans, but that will definately take making a mesh,  and I am soooo not there yet. 

Upcoming Submission News, Jan. 25th, 2009

Still chugging away at finishing up my Linden College series. If you're interested in something other than Linden College, I will have something different up soon, but I'm trying to get this finished first. The next upload you'll be seeing here is my Greek house. It's smaller than other Greek houses I've made for myself in the past. This should make it easier for the sims living there to actually get from point A to point B without jumping through hoops. If you're looking for a place that can handle a party, though, not to worry - this house actually CAN handle a big bash, because although the actual size of the house is not that large, the lot size IS large, and the backyard definitely has plenty to do. Perfect place for a pool party, if you ask me. 

Planned on having my apartment complex up as well, but I would like to do some more testing with apartments combined with the university EP to see what kind of things come up besides what I've already discovered. I've got a thread going regarding my findings here. Please, if anyone else has done testing using apartments in a university, I'd love to know what discoveries you've made!

Lastly, for those of you who ARE interested in something not college-related, the first lots I have planned for after this Linden College business are a set of two lots that are largely inspired by the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion - my favorite building in Dallas, TX.

I'm Back!

It's been quite a while since I've played sims and even longer since I uploaded new things to the site. Since my last stories and creations, I have added free time and apartment life to my game. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue the stories that I previously started because a lot of the stuff got moved around and is hard to get organized since I got the new computer. Maybe I will get it all together, but for now I'm taking on a new story. This one will follow a family over the generations through the family line. Expect it out sometime next week, hopefully. Look for it here. It will be called Time after Time.

Upcoming RockStar Hairstyle

Hello my fellow beauties! First of all I would like to thank you all! Your comments are truly inspirational to me and when I see how much you like my creations I'm crazy-happy all the day long! It means so much to me that... ya ... whatever :)

However ... here it is... my upcoming creation I made yesterday. When I saw the mesh on RoseSims2 I thought - Wa! This could be great for a 80's look! And so I made some new textures with different highlights for a crazier look. It was fun and done in one hour.

Holiday and NEW STORY!!

Well, the time has finally come, I'm going to the beach for the next 5 days! I'll miss you all dearly, but when I come back I'll have new ideas and stories.

NEW STORY! i HAVE A NEW STORY, IT'S CALLED Forgotten Redemption. It's about a 16 year old girl who moves to the beach with nasty aunty and she finds an old friend there. But when she visits her friends home she discovers a deep, dark secret that her friends entire family has been keep. But now that she has discovered the secret there is no way getting out of it. She must find a way to break the secret and keep it quiet at the same time. It's a tradgic tale of fantasy, adventure, drama and... ROMANCE!! (AHHHH! Warray is doing romance, there'd s first, AHHHHH!! Run away!)

Computer crashed...

Hey!

Hope you all had a nice christmas and a happy new year! When I got back from my christmas vacation I was all ready to make some new sets for you. After finishing a new hair mesh I decided to take a break, I turned off my computer, watched some tv, later I decided to start the texturing and my computer suddenly won't work... I've tried everything I can do on my own, but it seems I'm gonna have to turn it in for someone to repair it. I have no idea how long it will take, hopefully not too long, but don't count on me being back atleast until February.... :-/

Anyways, have fun simming without me :)

Working out Lots for upload

Well i have finally found a decent tutorial on the Clean Pack Installer. This means that I can work out some house design ideas for upload here. I also finally figured out how to do the split levels. Such fun. I just really hope that I can create what I see in my mind, Maybe - draw it out on paper.

It's been awhile since I've actually played The Sims 2. But, I'm coming back to the game! I just recently reinstalled all of my TS2 games and am on a downloading spree to get some new stuff for my lil' simmies. =) Anyways, I'm glad to be back.

This is my first comment in my blog on my very awesome minisite! Tsr got that right. I was saving up for one and I was lucky enough not spending my kudos on it when I would be getting one!

Anyway. If you haven't read my stories. Then you might want to take a quick peek. I spend alot of time perfecting these stories but I must say it's never excited unless you get people writting lovely comments! I also create clothing. Yes, I still  learning the tricks of the trade but in the meanwhile I think i might stick to simpler things like eye colours.

New System, Coming!

I don't know who I am writing these blogs for, or who even reads them.... but anyway.... I have had my mini-site fr one year now, and wanted to thank all of you who PMed me and emailed me anniversary congratulations.  You know who you aren't....

Also, I bit the bullet and finally ordered my new system.  It's due to be delivered the 28th so hopefully I will be back soon.  I am getting it primarily for the Sims 3, but hope to see my Sims2 Simmies once again before then.

300,000 DOWNLOADS! INCREDIBLE!

I just want to say a big HUGE THANK YOU to all the peeps who have downloaded my creations and re-colors! As of today I am over 300,000 downloads.. and obviously this wouldnt have happened without all the terrific downloaders! A big HURRAY to you all!

On Jan 7th I was at 200,000 .. that means i got 100 thousand downloads in just 3 weeks! I stand totally amazed and in awe at the sheep volume of it all! WOW :) And I havent even started re-coloring Custom content meshes yet!! And by the way i had made plans that this weekend - tomorrow in fact was going to be the day when I sit down.. read and go thru all the tutorials i have and finally figure out how to do it! ( I wasnt going to quit til i had achieved my goal! LOL) So who knows next week could be the week where I have new custom content recolors out! Also i wanted to take my first shot at making some clothing too.. this weekend! Yikes! we shall see how it turns out!

Stoneyville Estate

Stoneyville Estate is filling up fast.I've been concentrating on completing half finished projects, so there are plenty of new lots on the way. I've finished about 3 quarters of the city & only have these final few to go:

Maps 7, 10, 13, 14, 18, 21

I'm just putting the finishing touches to these maps, so they should all be completed by the end of Feb.

TSR newest layout is simply awesome!!!

Just wanna congratulate all the people involved in the redesigning process as well as all the creators that keep contribuing. Thanks a lot for making this site one of the best places for our Sims. I'm looking forward for the Sims 3 and for this site's related updates.

Inspiration

I like to give credit where credit is due, and you should all know who has given me new inpiration regarding roofing lately. The first time I saw those European roof decorations combined with Asian roofs was in the Snowflake Drift lot by tlc10175 on EA's The Sims 2 Exchange (see her Sim Page here). No, not to worry - I didn't copy her lots! I don't do that. No, these are definitely my own creations here - I've just been curious to see how far I could take that kind of thinking regarding roofs. So please, if you like what I've been doing with the roofs in Linden College, you should check out her stuff!

Crystal Springs, my playing neighborhood, just reached the 43 Families.
And I still have 7 students at college, which will create new families once they'll graduate..

Actually, I don't really care if someone dies there, and the 43 Families are the answer to the obvious question:
"Why don't you care about dying sims?"

Clothing!

I am having so much fun creating clothing...I wish I would have started a long time ago!!  I want to personally thank all of the tutorials on how to begin this process and all of you wonderful creators of meshes!!  And also to all of you who find my creations likeable enough to download for your games!!  Enjoy!

Intoducing me.

Greetings everyone!

I've been playing Sims since my best friend got me hooked on Sims 2. Now I'm dabbling in creating. I'm working on mimicing celebs. (I pause here to bow to Chazdesigns he is the master at this) However I have a few girls I'm proud of that I may upload on here. A big thank you to everyone on here for your great creations. They have made the game even more fun for me!

To My Fans

The weeks prior to last one were spent preparing for the Creator's Camp (last week). So, my submissions and Andretti updates were virtually nonexistant. I came home and began working on the Andretti's...I recolored a few sets for the Texture Challenge, I was on a roll.

Last night, when I got home...Charles (my other half) was beginning to prepare to remodel his parent's bathroom. He tore out the coutners and the cabinets to find LOADS of Black Mold filling up the room. If you don't know anything about Black Mold, I will just say that it can kill you.

It is no wonder why Charles' father is simply not getting well and why we are all sick all of the time.

We're waiting on the insurance adjusters to get out here and do their adjusting, but it may turn out that we will need to reside elsewhere until the problem is resolved. So, if that's the case...my updates and submissions will be very nonexistant because we'll more than likely be in a hotel and I certainly can't bring my desktop computer in. I'll have my laptop to keep everyone updated, but I won't have my game.

Hopefully, the only place the mold has spread is that bathroom. We had a leak about three years ago, that we're sure is what caused it...but, there's no telling how far it's moved in three years.

Mistake..

I uploaded 3 screenshots, then deleted them, then re-uploaded them..

They where meant to be for the "Yard and garden" theme compeition..I wasnt really sure if i should participate, so I deleted my screen shots, then changed my mind and re-uploaded them..

I am very sorry for any inconvience done by this mistake..

Busy busy week! Egads!

So its been about a week since I last blogged.. its been pretty hectic. Got some new customers - which is great- however it means more work and toll on my back - but thems the breaks. Because of my hubbys back injury i have also been running him to numerous appointments in betwen- doctor, pain specialist, massage therapy, physio... whew! Tired just writing it! lol. Also Pauly has been hurting worse with the bitter cold we have been having here in Ontario so I have been walking puppkins... somedays 4 times a day ( or he gets stir crazy and gets into trouble around the house- crazy dog!) Mia ( aka Princess Moomoo on here) is a great helper and helps walking him and also yesterday she did the dishes ( without being asked!) and vacuumed. Pretty good for a 10 year old! I wish the other kids were as helpful!

Anyhoo, sorry for complaining ... in between all my running .. I have managed to create lots of stuff. ( Just need to upload it now) I have two new houses coming out ( BESIDES the other 2 that just came out this week) I made a Spiderman Boys bedrrom set, plus about 4 other alternative Spidey beddings and matching curtains, 10 other beddings, and some new walls. Oh and a couple of furniture re-colors. How the heck can i do all that you ask? Well i do it at night.. before bed. Around 10 pm - after a hot shower...every night i drag my butt upstairs to my pc ( with my cozy heating pad turned up to high on my chair) andI create. The creating isnt hard.. its all teh junk that goes with it thats the long process.. takingin game shots, and uploading etc.

So look for the new stuff I mentioned this weekend... and there should be skads next week as I have an idea of a Paramore bedroom set ( Paramore is an alternative music group that my 12 yr old happens to love. ) Oh I almost forgot I made some more Twilight stuff.. another bedding adn some more posters!

Cleaning out the downloads folder so my computer has room for sims 3

Two weeks until sims 3. I have been working on cleaning out the downloads folder to make room. So all hairs, makeups, clothing, and objects that I don't use are now gone. I have my maxis matching add-on sets, and a few favorite hairs from nouk, peggy and raon as well as a few sets like the al superset for teens and the hm summer and autumn collections and that is it. It needed cleaning out anyways since I had a stupid amount of downloads that I did not use.

The KiDzVeRzUm is approved

I was really quick with this lot. It was all in my head so I was clickin' so fast like a crazy servo! :D But I have to admit and also proudly present, that my own two kids had lots of really good inputs and especially enthusiasm and fantastic ideas to this project. E.g. the stream flowing out of the castle or the middle ages looking arches, the used patterns on the ground etc. Badi, my 8 years old son is a great critic and examined every step from boys point of view, and my 11 year old daughter, Panni was responsible for girl balance :DDD So, I can say, this lot is tried and tested by real kids, I hope your simmies will like it! Publish date is january 23. Ah, yes, and btw, when I wanted to take a preview shot, a white witch was just about to land there, that's why the shining sparkles. So she thought it was wirth a check! ;-)

By the day concepts and principles of some subjects become more difficult to understand

By the day I get more wrinkles and eyebacks. LOL :D
By the day I hear more sarcasm among my sibilings.
By the day I get more nervous as my talentime competition inches closer
By the day I find it hard to find time to play The Sims 2.
By the day I find that nothing seems right
By the day I become more nerdy! :D
By the day I keep dreaming to really come back to my 3rd home.
By the day I find more activities to keep myself occupied. (I asked for it!) :P
By the day I get used to the bad days and the weird arguments.
By the day my vocals improves bit by bit
By the day I mix around with more friends of different social groups
By the day I remember that my parents have paid for my education, therefore I must appreciate it
By the day my stamina strengthens
By the day I am improving insignificantly on diong standard pull-ups.
By the day I keep telling myself that I will succeed one day.

That is what keeps me intact everyday. Look on the bright side - whether you have 365 bad days, you know that 360 of them will eradicate eventually, since you WILL get used to it.
