Welcome to my New Minisite!

Hi everyone! Well I just have to say welcome to my new minisite! Thankyou to all that downloaded my creations, because with out you guys, I wouldn't even be here. You can check out all my Texture Challenge creations here. Currently I am working on TC108 and I am recolouring the Fia Dining Room by detimgi and texures are by Vanilla Sim.
Now that I have my minisite up and running I am able to take recolour requests, so just drop me a PM!
Also feel free to use my creations in your downloaded lots!

Death

I went outside yesterday to Ray's hutch and noticed how cold it was, so I moved him into the back portch to sheild him from the bitter wind. He hadn't drank very much water and he was freezeing cold. Then about an hour ago I went out to feed him and I was putting his food in the bowl thinking "Ray's sure quiet." I opened the hucth and when I didnt hear moveing I put my hand in and found his lifeless corpse. I was sat there crying. He shouldn't be dead but I have his body on my lap, hes dead. I want him back, hes my pig, he souldnt be dead. Its all my fault. Hes dead.

New House

Ok, I am back again with a new House. I hope you guys like it. i may make others in a series.

Those urban backdrops...

I love Maxis neighbourhood items. Power stations, cooling towers, radio satelites and the all-new junk ridden alleyways are fantastic, and mixing these with some neighbourhood lots that have some sort of urban/industrial visual impact really sets the grungy urban scene! (note: all links open in new windows).

For Picket's Trailors (pictured left), I placed the Container Shipping Yard to one side. This lot is not one I tend to play that often, but it does look very colourful and industrial, with a tall crane on top completing the effect. Behind that, I placed one of the Industrial Age lots: the Gas Street Power Station because the tall chimneys and large windows really stand out in a neighbourhood background.


Another lot I use extensively in backgrounds is the Gulf Offshore Oil Rig. In its own right, it's a large lot, but it stretches quite some way across the picture on the right and it makes a great background feature because of all the high cranes and masts. I tend to set it at a short distance in the background where it's still visible over the top of closer buildings.

And why am I telling you all this? Well, it's easy to download a lot because of its screenshot. I never alter screenshots of actual buildings or objects offered for download; I sometimes change the sky backdrop so it's a little less of a cheerful blue!) but surrounding neighbourhood decor can still mislead, with the lot itself seeming much more plain in an empty neighbourhood. That can be disappointing, so I figured I'd tell you what I used (and provide the links so you can easily do something similar if you wish).

Cheerio - 3 Mio Downloads!

With a glass of champaigne in my hand I thank all the nice people who liked my stuff enough to download.

This new milestone means a lot for me, I haven't had the luckiest year in my life until now. I had death, marriage, illness and tons of trouble in real life. I'm very happy my virtual life goes much better!

More pointless freebies...

I was going to cite tales about the impoverished state of the world economy as the reasons why my monthly freebies have not been available this past couple of months (after all, I wouldn't want 'free gas cylinders' tipping the balance and sending all finance markets to their final collapse), but I figured you might not believe that sort of thing, so I'll make it a little easier by explaining that the lack of freebies was due largely to my thoughtlessness (some would say due COMPLETELY to my thoughtlessness...). So, in the hope that you'd rapidly forgive my tardiness, I have released not one, but TWO diabolical and of-no-use-whatsoever sets this month (in other words, my usual fare). A nice set of newspaper stands and some gleaming decorative light switches seemed to fit the bill nicely. As usual, click the images to go to the download pages.

Naturally, there is nothing 'nice' available - just a little bit of urban decor to further spoil any not-so-nice lots you've been making (or downloading). I particularly think that my light switches will complement all that nice furniture in the Maxis Ikea 'Stuff Pack' (yes, one of those packs I'm far too mean to purchase).

Neon Lights Fixed

I have written to everyone who left comments on the original set to warn that some people were receiving corrupt files which crashed their game whenever they tried to open 'wall lamps' or 'floor lamps' in their game catalog. Unfortunately, that still leaves a further 310 or so people who I can't contact because I don't know who you are, so I hope this reaches you.

If you were one of the unlucky ones, then the set has now been reuploaded and you can download it now from this link: Nevada Neon Lights. Please ensure you also download and replace the collection file as this too was corrupted.

For once, it is NOT MY FAULT! See how I make huge fanfare announcements about problems that are not my fault? In fact, I am positively basking in the glory of this not being my fault!

But all the same, I'm terribly sorry if you were unlucky enough to receive rubbish files, and I DO hope this message reaches all those of you who downloaded.

Woo-Hoo! - ONE MILLION Downloads!!

Well, what can I say except THANK YOU VERY MUCH to everyone who has made this happen! I am totally stunned that EXACTLY 7 months to the day after my first ever set was published, I've reached this amazing milestone - I never dreamed it would happen, let alone so quickly! A big thank you also to all those kind people who have left comments on my creations, or even just ticked the 'Thanks' box throughout this time - it really means a great deal to me to receive this feedback! And finally, a special thanks to my 'Herd' - for all the abuse and hassle (?!), the laughter and tears, and the support and encouragement - I couldn't have wished to have met a nicer bunch of equally (if not even insaner!) 'Mad Cows'! Ecstatically over the moon, Mad Cow!

Mira's Habily TC107

I couldn't skip TC107 - I was the one to serve the textures. As I was in a Hawaiian mood, I changed Mira's Habily set to something an European relates to Hawaii. Don't beat me, wasn't there yet - only in my dreams. Here is a draft (wall by Vitasims, painting and shoes also borrowed) I'm pretty proud of the bookshelf, it costed me a whole day! The mesh is a masterpiece and Mira seems to be the most patient person I ever met.

Well, wanted to say that today is a special day 'cause it's my birthday! and, as you can see, I'm 17. Yeah, already 17! Can't believe it.

And it's my 2nd B-Day when I visit TSR! I've started submitting later in October 2007, but just wanted to remind to myself the information...

Please Remember!

Looking at the download numbers for the MH Garden, I've noticed that the master ivy plant actually has fewer downloads than the other ivy plants. PLEASE remember to download the master ivy plant or else you'll get the blue flash of doom in the game instead of enjoying the lovely ivy texture I slaved over, okay?

All slave objects are marked with both a 'this item requires' link AND a 'get mesh at TSR' link. Please be sure you're paying attention to which items require the download of another item to function.

Well, the other night, I got to wondering if anyone has had a sim "Do It ALL", everything that the game & all the expansion packs come up with. I figure, start the sim off as a BABY (Hiedibear cheated and started off with a toddler, forgetting that they can become best friends with their parents as infants, and the lovely puking on the parents too, not that THAT makes a memory). As the Sim grows up, he/she has to do it all. Business's, games that they like to play, go to private school, after school job, college, work, Lifetime Asperations, witches, werewolves, zombies, vampires, plantsims (they can be cured of these). Hiedi pointed out if they are zombies, they lose skills and all that, so just turn someone else into a zombie. Don't forget if a guy sim, having an alien baby too! Just anything and everything the games offer, do it. Pets, bussiness, witches, vacations freetime hobbies (yes, your sim has to get all the enthusiasims)...EVERYTHING! No cheating on money. You have to use the elixer of life to set the age back so they can do everything. You can cheat on Energy and Comfort, ONLY! They have to eat, pee and all the other fun stuff. OHHH...and....(Hiedi is mad at me over this part) They have to be a family sim...with a secondary aspiration of ROMANCE!! The idea, is to do it ALL get all the badges EVERYTHING that you can do. Oh, yeah, their isn't a prize involved. It's just for the heck of it all. Your reward will be the feeling of accomplishment? Love ya guys!! Karie

In between projects. Real life gets in the way...

Good news. I'm in between project, but there are many of them so that should make for some busy uploading. I am working mostly on Apartments and AL themed lots, but that can always change.

Bad news. Well, it was bad news, hopefully not right now. RL has been getting in the way a lot. Autumn are always busy for me, and this one is about normal. Luckily, a drop-off in intensity related to work is coming, so I'll have more time for TS2.

Still Waiting

I am still waiting for my computer� What an idea I had to order it instead of buying one from the shelves! Next Wednesday, it will be 15 work-days that I have placed my order, so I will need to make a call to plead for my bad luck. I feel almost lonely without my simmies!

Zahirah Bikinis

This is the first new swimwear I've made in over a year so I felt it was high time I came up with a new set.



This is a mix and match set comprising basically two bikini tops and two bottoms in a black and white Moroccan design with contrast hot pink trim and straps. I've always loved the Maxis strappy bikini bottoms (see my Sheer Glamour lingerie set for previous use of these) so I enjoyed incorporating them into the set. As always with my swimwear, I've tried to make the design sexy but still relatively conservative i.e. generous bottom coverage, no thongs, etc, and in this set the non-strappy bottoms have a flattering wide band at the hip. I think the combination of colours in this set is quite stylish - striking but still feminine. As usual, the feet are bare, as I've personally never found much use for swimwear with shoes in the game.

The bikinis are available for adults and young adults. They use a standard Maxis mesh and are base game compatible.

I gotta say wow!!! I never thought I would be doing so well in such a short time! I gotta say THANKS EVERYONE!!! I really appreciate all the support! I'm really glad everyone is finding my stuff so downloadable, I didn't know when I started this. Thanks everyone and keep downloading! :D

Something ate my Sims!

Well I don't know what happened, but my game self-destructed a few days ago and I still can't figure out what's wrong. It just, all of a sudden, started telling me it's not installed! So now I'm trying to find the box where I stored my older game discs (the base game, NL, UNI, OFB, Pets and Seasons) so I can reinstall the whole thing. I think the box was brown... :(

More fall jackets!

Jackets look so much more fall than just a sweater, and much more fashionable, too! Just now I'm into waist-jackets with jeans, a classic outfit for teens. I'm trying to design them in different styles, so all your teen girls can find something that will suit them. Enjoy!

Episode 5!

So I've only just had episode 4 published, but it's never too soon to give a sneaky peeky at the what's coming next. First, though, I'm gonna make myself do episode 10. That was a hard a hard one to plan out (one of those where I seriously have no idea what I'm gonna do) but now I've come up with something... So all I have to do is spend a couple of days taking pictures, and then 3 or 4 more days writing it out... as well as trying to live real life... Give me a fortnight, and I should be done. Then I'll upload episode 5! It's a favourite of mine, mainly because it's dominated by one of my personal favourite characters, who's new. I love all my babies, but I do find myself saving really good lines for him. Imagine Swindle had younger brother with a lot less morals and magical powers, and you'll be someway towards him. There's also a new couple of secondary characters, both of whom will crop up from time to time and be important. On with the teasers! *A new main character! Again! *Boy-on-Boy action! (at bloody last! ;)) *Boy-on-Girl action! (equal opportunities and all that) *Atra and Grastion get to know the new character. *Find out about Dania's doll... *Is love in the air...? Episode 5 is called 'Not the Only Fruit'. If you've heard of a certain British film, that may give you a clue. Well, I think it's apt anyway... Now for the screenshot preview of the week! I'm a sucker for this sort of picture. I like the balance with their hair and skintones, and they look really sweet together. And the thing I like most is that what's really happening isn't sweet at all... Mwah hah hah!! So which one do you think is my new hero?

Aliens

I have been creating an alien city and wanted some green hair etc. for my green skinned citizens. Nothing really special, but I am uploading them in the off chance that someone else might want to use them. I did 4 male & 4 female hair styles. All are the same color/texture. Mostly because I hate downloading hair only to realize there are no beards etc. in the right shade to match, I am also uploading some matching facial hair for the males. Everything is off of the original game pack, so there are no expansions or meshes needed. :)

'Baby Wildlife Nursery' - Preview!

Hi All! I must admit I've been a bit quiet on the update front lately, but that doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything! Quite the opposite in fact - I've got so many projects on the go now that I don't know whether I'm coming or going! Anyway, I have had a few people asking about my nurseries/bedrooms, and the answer is yes, I will be converting all of my 'Little Bedroom' collections into nurseries in time, as well as adding a few more new ones. So, here we have a preview of the latest conversion: 'My Baby Wildlife Nursery' The set includes: Crib frame + 2 sets of bedding Changing Tables x 2 (to match the bedding) High Chair Potty All of the other items shown are from the 'Little Bedroom' collection, which I will either include or provide a link for. Comments, thoughts, ideas, suggestions, etc., are welcome as always, and if you have an idea/theme for a bedroom/nursery that you'd like me to have a go at, please let me know and I'll get back to you. ~Important - About The Motion Set.

Hey ya, users!

It's quite sadly but I must post that 2-tile Arch + Diagonal version from my The Motion Set are re-uploaded because of the GUID conflict, it replaced Glass&Matte 2-tile Arch.

I'm so sorry for that trouble! Thanks to people who noticed it.
Now everything's OK, I've got new GUIDs for both versions.

So, please, re-download them again. Other items from the set work fine.

October Updates!

First on the list is a new lot I've been tinkering with over the last week. It's a condominium so it requires Apartment Life. It's my first lot upload so be gentle! I had a lot of fun working on it so I might try a few more later on. Next are some outfits. The toddler outfits are for Seasons and they are unisex. I know some may not look so great on a little boy but I wanted to include them all as unisex. You can use SimPE or Wardrobe Wrangler to re-categorize them if you like. Also, I want to let everyone know these will be the last outfits using these textures and patterns. I have some new patterns I will be working with for future uploads. At least that's the plan! Last is a jewelry collection set. It will include two seperate sets. One for base game and one for Bon Voyage. This is in honor of my eldest niece Ashley. She's 21, a total sweetheart with a bubbly personality and one of my closest friends.

Life Is Good

Well, things in my life seem to have taken a turn for the better. Hopefully that will eventually give me more time to create, but I'll have to wait and see how it goes.

Thanks to all who took part in my poll. I ended up getting Bon Voyage, Kitchen and Bath and Ikea. Maybe I'll get the others later, I don't know. But at least now I have some new objects to recolor. We'll see what comes of that. At the moment I'm enjoying recoloring mostly base game items and my meshes.

Ah yes, meshes. Still no time to devote to that. I keep trying, but losing out to time pressures. Perhaps in the not too distant future I'll have some new objects for you.

Always open to ideas and suggestions. May not do them, or may not be able to, but I'll still listen/read.

Chinese Zodiac Bedding

I have been working on a two sets of Chinese Zodiac bedding, they will be available soon to download. Here is some some background information about the Chinese Zodiac. The Chinese Lunar New Year is the longest chronological record in history, dating from 2600BC, when the Emperor Huang Ti introduced the first cycle of the zodiac. Like the Western calendar, The Chinese Lunar Calendar is a yearly one, with the start of the lunar year being based on the cycles of the moon. Therefore, because of this cyclical dating, the beginning of the year can fall anywhere between late January and the middle of February. This year it falls on February 12th. A complete cycle takes 60 years and is made up of five cycles of 12 years each. The Chinese Lunar Calendar names each of the twelve years after an animal. Legend has it that the Lord Buddha summoned all the animals to come to him before he departed from earth. Only twelve came to bid him farewell and as a reward he named a year after each one in the order they arrived. The Chinese believe the animal ruling the year in which a person is born has a profound influence on personality, saying: "This is the animal that hides in your heart." This year is the year of the rat, so im giving you a look at my Year Of The Rat bedding. There will be two sets, six animals in each set. The rat bedding will be in set one.

Tired of 'free sets'!

Yes, it's exactly as you read it! I'm tired of free sets. Well, no, I'm not tired of setting my sets free, I'm tired of seeing just the news about free sets in my blog. So I've decided to talk of something else for once. That is my Brick Patio series: yes, it's not just a set anymore, it's going to become a series of sets. And it's so strange given the way it's born. Some time ago I thought that it was nice to have a few items to make a patio; this is used a lot in Italian modern (and not so modern) buildings, so I see that kind of elements a lot in my life. When I had finished the meshes and tested in game, it came to my mind that one could reach the same result using the "invisible" door-arches by Windkeeper and so I was very close to bin them. The only thing that kept me from deleting the files was that I put a great effort in making them join seamlessly with Maxis walls and I thought that maybe someone could be interested in them. Just when I started getting comments of people saying that door-arches need a tile on both sides, I realized that they couldn't be used the same way as these useless things I had made. I must admit that I felt really silly, as though I had never played the game. But at the same time I thought that if people (that is you) liked them, maybe I could expand on them. I had withheld a 2-storey column from the first set because it couldn't be used with the same arches: so the most obvious thought was to complete the 2-storey set. And here it is, with the matching arches 2, 3 and 4 tiles wide. (ceiling tiles shown in picture are courtesy of Cyclonesue: go grab them because they're amazing!) And then our most wonderful forum admin, Tug�, asked me a one tile arch, and no matter how I made it, it never seemed to look right, basically because the column I had made was off-side, to avoid seeing it from inside the walls, and this didn't go well with a small, very curved arch. So I gave up and made a completely new set of column and arches, exactly as wide as the game walls, that could be place wherever someone wanted them to be without problems. And here's the result. Yes, the optical illusion makes the one-tile arch look strange next to the other, but they are exactly as tall. All the meshes will use the repository and borrow the texture from the first column, so I won't clutter too much your downloads folder with recolours. I'm still tweaking the set, but it will be released soon. In the meanwhile you can enjoy the new recolours I've made, and also those made by Hatshepsut. Hagerks2 will also make some recolours of these soon.

Mobile Home Community

For those of you who have downloaded my first mobile home community, I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience but it doesn't work. I have recently revised it and the working (BETTER) version will be released soon. Please delete the old one and re-download. Thank you! There are a few changes but I'm sure you'll all love it! Again, sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy!!

Phew! Garden is uploaded

I JUST finished uploading the Garden set. All 34 pieces of the set.
It takes a long, LONG time to upload sets here on TSR, because each individual item must be uploaded with its own picture, description as well as selecting all the (numerous--and I mean numerous) applicable attributes.
It took me more than two hours to upload all 34 items.
In case anyone has ever wondered why I frequently break up my sets into multiple parts, THIS IS WHY!

So please let it be known that from now on, any set that I upload with more than 20 files will be split up. The includes all future Manor House Collection sets as well. It's just too much of a hassle to upload everything at the same time =/

Anyway, the Garden set will be released on the 25th =]

Apartments Incoming

I haven't submitted anything in about a week because of an issue with submitting apartment buildings. I encountered a bug when I uploaded Cordellia's Cove, reported it, and waited for the support staff to let me know it was OK to re-submit. Now that it has been sorted, the apartments are uploaded and should be available in a few days. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have! More to come, as always! -- Sara

Sept. 28th, Vintage Charm Etcetera

Vintage Charm Etcetera is schedule for publication on September 28th. Etcetera features 2 new meshes, the 1st mesh is a vintage styled floor lamp which is a slave file of my Vintage Charm antique table lamp. You must have the table lamp installed in order to use the new floor lamp mesh and their recolors. The table and floor lamp, both have interchangeable lampshades and bases. You can create several complementing color combinations by mixing and matching lampshades and bases.

The 2nd new mesh is a flowering potted plant. The flowering plant is a mixture of reality and fiction, but it is a rather interesting looking plant and small enough to fit on an end table or shelf. I have included several recolors of the flowering plant.

Vintage Charm Etcetera collection also includes recolors for previously released Vintage Charm meshes, wall sconce, ceiling chandelier, alarm clock, and more.

School Matters..

New Maxis Base Game Objects

I've had several request for strictly base game objects, so here they are. :) I'll be releasing a couple of homes, based on real ones, as soon as I get my graphic card installed at home. I've the plans and designs in my head and on paper. Smiles & hugs, CT

How to use clean pak installer

My favorite cows needed some help with clean pak and maybe others do as well.

CleanPak Installer can be found at the web site Mod The Sims 2 (MTS2) for no cost. Once you've gotten it downloaded and installed you'll be ready to get started.

When you 1st bring it up there is a little gray bar with an arrow next to it, you'll want to click that arrow so the gray bar says "download" instead. This tells the program to search the entire folder......the more files the longer it'll take and so you may need to go bake some "chochy bikkies" or read a book if you're a download junkie. After it has come up with a number of files click "MD5" ONE TIME, this arranges the files by file# and so things with the same MD5# is most likely a copy. Anything pink is a copy or empty package meaning you're missing the mesh or some other essential part. Red files are global hacks. Just highlight any duplicate or empty files then delete(once you delete using cleanpak you can NOT undo & it does NOT go to recycle bin!).

Any more help needed or if anyone doesn't understand just let me know.
