Large Lots...
Some of you may have noticed a tendency for me to build larger lots. This is not an accident. ;) I have only recently gotten a new computer for Christmas and seem to be nearly unable to create smaller ones right now. LOL! This will pass, but in the mean time it is something you should consider when downloading.The reason I am bringing this up is that I almost always state quite clearly in the description what size lot the home will be on. If it says Large Lot, and the size I list is 5x5, believe me when I tell you that a weaker computer is going to not like it one little bit. 4x4 and smaller should be ok unless there are a lot of plants and floors...things I really don't do often anyway. I would hate for someone to download something of mine only to find out they cannot play it because it is just too big for their computer to handle.
Now, I'm not saying you cannot download anything I have. You go right on and download all you want...I LOVE knowing people love my things! I just want to be honest and fair with the downloaders. Just be aware when you reach for the download button that there is a reason TSR has lot sizes listed.

Pallet Bed Fix!
A big Thank You to MsBarrows for pointing out the mistake I made with the shadow for the pallet bed! A rather important setting in the shadow texture was incorrect and so causing a big ugly black blocky thing on walls and the floor.This has been corrected now and I'm so sorry for making such a silly mistake! I shall be more diligent in the future with checking things before uploading.
A Problem
It may be a little while before the next set from the Flowers of May Day comes out. There are a couple of reasons but the main one is that ever since I added the Pets EP to my computer I've had to reload the "The Sims 2" document file every day just to get the game to come up. I replace the file and it loads fine. Reset the "Allow custom content" and restart, work in the game for a bit and then the next day I have to reset the folder again. I don't know what is causing the problem. I'm considering uninstalling the whole thing and starting over from scratch. I hate to do it though because I'm going to lose some hard work that way. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Clothing

I haven't blogged in awhile and I thought this was news to announce, because I'm sure happy about it :) Our daughter just had her second baby.Yep, we have a new baby boy in our family that just arrived yesterday.
He's 9 pounds 9 oz and is 22 1/12 inches long, has reddish blond hair and according to his father...has big feet. lol
He's gonna be a tall one. His dad is 6'7" and mom is pretty tall too.
Hubby and I will get to see him tonight. I'm excited!

Kitchen & Bathroom Stuff!!

Can't wait to install it but I have to! I am dying to start building again, but I really have to finish with my garden first. We managed to build the major part of the terrace last weekend - and I was dealing with 3000 kg:s of stones to decorate the walls that surround our front yard. Every muscle hurts but it's only good after all this sitting by the computer! I will have to order more stones to get the right impression and with my husband we will continue to finish with the details of the terrace.
What it come to Sims2 building I am collecting ideas and will start bulding soon. I try to build some of the houses with only University, Home Busines and Nightlife EP:s so that the lots would be available for as many as possible.

I lost my little Chip Kitty.
Today was one of the worst days in my life. We (me, my hubby and hiedibear) had to take my little black kitty, Chip, to be put to sleep. He dropped a whole lot of weight, was not eating or drinking. Last week, I started giving him a kitty version of insure and water by syringe, until we could get him to the vet. His breath and pee smelled like fingernail polish remover. It turns out that Persian Kitty's are prone to kidney failure. And that is what happened to my baby. The vet tried to pull him out of it with i.v.'s and antibiotics and special kitty food, and an appetite stimulant. He seemed to improve at the vets, but went downhill once he was home again. I was up at my mom's house this weekend. By the time I got home, Chip could hardly walk at all. I kept him in bed with me (I called in to work and took the day off), and sang to him (he liked to be sang to) and brushed him (he just got where he enjoyed being brushed too, dang it!). Then, this morning, we had to take him in. It was horrible. We just took him in, said our sobbing goodbyes and we left him there. Our other kitties, Oreo and Prnacer seem worried about me and keep hanging around with me. Prancer is being a clown and playing with me (fetch, with his ball). Oreo is just being lovey. Sorry this is a downer..but I can't help it...I am so sad. He just turned 3 on February 25th. Just a baby still.New week & New creations
Hello, dear friends! How are you? I'm fine and I enjoyed the day. The wetter in the Netherlands is really beautiful!! Past weekend, and also today, there were almost no clouds, it was just a little bit windy. Yesterday (Sunday) and also today on Monday, we did have a very nice temperature with lots of sunshine!!! Jippie, I love that! I really do!! With my family I went into the garden to drink a cuppa thee, with a little bit honey ( thank you bizzy bees!) and a biscuit to nibble. When I was sipping my tea, I enjoyed it very much to see to fly the first tiny butterfly's, and to hear those lovely singing birds. I love it and it made me verry happy and relaxed. When the evening has come, I've got an nice idea and I started to build a community lot. It's themed about relaxing from your everyday's routine job. We all need to do someting like that... Jep, Relax. It's very important!! Just sitting down, sipping your tea and enjoy the beauty of the annimals and nature! Today I submitted a fantasy dog and the community lot; "Auqa Del Fuego" with a swimmingpool. It's landscaped & surrounded with various tropical plants and a little creek to fish. Hope you like them...
The Blue Diamond dog is a fantasy dog, wich I created for my Sims. I just wanted to share this guy and I hope your Sims wil have a lot of fun with him to. I Did!

For Katherine
As you may have heard, one of our Select Artists, Katherine (known here as My Lady Craven), died tragically on March 17th following a road traffic accident. I didn't know Katherine very well but we corresponded for a while as I helped her develop her preview picture style. She came across as a very happy, friendly, enthusiastic person who clearly loved The Sims. She was very supportive of the creators here and often left encouraging comments. I have decided to make a particular set of my gowns, Marquise, which she said she loved, freely available permanently in her memory. R.I.P. Katherine.100 000 Downloads!
Finally I've reached a milestone - a small one maybe, but none-the-less, it means a lot to me, so a very big THANK YOU to everybody who has downloaded my creations, and an even bigger THANK YOU to all those who have left comments and thanked me - it's very much appreciated
I've been working on some new ideas (as well as completing Challenges - they are becoming so addictive now!), and to start with, have three sets of textured carpets on offer - a set of light colours, one of mid colours, and the final set in dark colours - I hope you like them!
I've also got some new walls and floors which I'll probably upload at the end of the week, and some more textured rugs - that's what having two weeks holiday does! 
(I needed something to counteract all the boring chores!).

Chapter 25 & 26 are written
So I spent most of Saturday afternoon writing chapter 25 and 26. I am very happy that I rewrote 25 and really like the direction I moved in. I even surprised myself.I'll be going to Florida to see a friend next week and am going to try to get at least publish chapter 25 before I go.

FoMD Kitchen Approved
The Flowers of May Day Kitchen Set has been approved and will be out on Tuesday the 22nd. I'm going to have to get a move on because I don't have the bathroom done yet. But honest I have a good reason!! ;p I got Pets on Thursday and since I'm still fighting the crud going around Denver I thought it would be easier to spend a little time playing. I've been missing the chance to play my Sims game now that I'm creating anyway. I test everything in the game but that's not the same really as actually playing.Anyway I thought I would be playing. But since adding Pets I've had more trouble with the game. Technically I think it's a download, the problem is I don't know which of the current downloads it is. Luckily I always keep a backup file of my The Sims 2 folder, good thing too. Whatever this download is it doesn't matter if I remove it from the folder. Once I've actully put my 'new downloads testing' folder into the download file and tried to start the game, nothing except removing the folder again and then reinstalling my The Sims 2 folder in My Documents will let me start the game again. It is very disappointing because there are at least three new downloads in that file that I really really want including Ceruleon Talon's new Oak set and Shadow66's beautiful Tropical paintings. Ohhhhh and CT's new bathroom! Darn it that's why it wasn't in my Buy catalog last night when I was trying to build that pretty green and white bathroom.
God I hate having to put every little individual piece in one at a time and testing the game. If I could just figure out which download was bad. They look fine and none of them say they have to have one of the stuff packs I don't have yet. Grrrrrrrr!
News about MyLadyCraven
To our regret we have to inform you that Katherine/Myladycraven has after a bad automobile accident in January this year, passed away. She was getting better for a while, but suffered more consequences after her injuries in the traumatic accident and after surgery she didn�t recover and she passed away on 17th March 2008. We have been in contact with one of her friends and she wanted you to know what had happened to Katherine.We think of her family in these hard times, and we have sent our condolences to them through her friend to let them know we have had Katherine in our minds. We will remember her as one of TSR�s Select Artists and her lovely work will always be here.

Poor Hubby
I just want to say a big thank you to my Hubby Spike, who is bearing up well in the wake of my current creating addiction! LOL So, thank you honey, love you loads.He is an Artist, used to using brushes, paints, pastels etc. So I have been asking him his opinion on items, as I tweak around with them :o)
He isn't really into Sims either, but his curiosity on the design front is starting to kick in. I'm hoping he will do me some designs soon that I can convert into a digital image to play with and render ready for interior designs.
Sims 3
I was reading an article in Microsoft Windows magazine about Sims 3. About the only thing I hated about Sims 2 was that you could play several generations in that one lot and noone else aged. EA did solve that a tad I noticed in later Expansion packs, not sure which one, as you sometimes get the option to age someone associated to the person growing up.But Sims 3 will actually age the entire neighborhood together, nice. Though I have to wonder how their working marriages and pregnancies. I mean it makes sense for the whole neighborhood to age together. But without Sims in other lots getting married and have kids you can see that eventually the neighborhood would be a ghost town.
Still I can't wait till its released next year.

A week after I first submitted 1 Briney Drive, it's finally approved along with my remodels of EA's Federal Fortress and my A Phantasm Mansion. Look for them on Tue. (1 Briney Drive) and Wed. (FF and APM).I have another one already on the horizon, and some more planned so stay tuned.

I've started a new set for all you storytellers that will be nothing but special effects for your screen shots. So far I have two meshes done, a full body effect and an orb effect, which share several recolors. I also plan on adding a few environmental effects, things like sun rays and fog. Depending how caught up in it I get, I might even try to custom poses to go along with the effects :PA few samples of what I have so far:
It's fairly easy to use: The actual effect is found under Decorative > Sculptures, and is considered an object, so you have to use the "moveobjects on" cheat to place it right. So far I've found that you need to place the effect first, then the sim inside it. If you do it the other way, the effect snaps into the sims hand. Also, because its an object, it can snap into slots on tables and shelves. So for example, you have a sim in a jumping pose up in the air, you can use Windkeepers Hidden Shelves to move the effect into the air.

A great site and the next lot
Real life has been quite demanding these days and I ended up catching a cold because I wasn't taking care of myself properly. The good thing about it is that I got to spend this weekend in bed and catch up with everything going on in the community.The first thing worth mentioning is this great site called Seriously Amused Sims. It has plenty of great lots and cool custom content, so make sure you drop by and pay those talented folks a visit!
Lately I've been quiet, but now I have something new to show. I got this request the other day to build something that matched my other lots on a 5x3 lot. It had to be romantic, symmetrical and with a street in the middle. I usually just make small stuff, but this was too much fun to pass, so I decided to give it a try!
It didn't turn out the be symmetrical, as I seem to have an aversion to that sort of thing, but I think it looks romantic just the same and the main street is still there! :D
Anyway, I still don't know if I'm going to furnish it or not, but I'm planning to publish it at TSR some day during this week. :)

1 Briney Drive Pt 2
It has been a week since submitted. This is weird I had one submitted after, Briney Mall, and it was approved within two day. 1 Briney Drive has been pending for an entire week now. I sent an email asking about this on Wednesday and haven't heard anything about that either.I could understand if it were rejected or approved and I didn't notice it till now or something. But to leave it pending when other lots have already been approved for several days now, I just don't understand.

Well, I must say that creating is fun again. It had gotten to be like a chore for me. I think that I don't feel so obligated to make what other people expect; instead I'm just making what I feel like.I'm taking some classes for work and I'm working out, so I don't have a lot of extra time. BUT, I'm making sure to leave a few hours to do this every week, just because this is something that I really do enjoy. :)

No Submissions in three weeks
I hope to get some new walls uploaded tomorrow. I lost my work computer and three weeks of work, five sets were ready to go and now they are gone. Having to install Homecrafter again, I lost alot of already made walls. I tried to run clean installer on what was left and it can't read anything. I've decided to start from scratch. My game refuses to load even after having cleared out the cache. I checked my wall folder and half of the walls left are corrupt with long strings of numbers. On the bright side, I do have a computer, no sound yet, but I fired up paint and the new homecrafter and managed, after about ten hours, to get walls made and packaged to upload. I'm exhausted LOL. Anyone have a chocolate chip cookie?Two Million!
I hit another milestone today and I have to stop and thank everyone who has downloaded my items and given me such positive feedback. It makes me happy that you have all enjoyed my items in your games and that you feel they make your Sims' world a little more beautiful.I'm currently working on recoloring a set of kitchen cabinets to match my Designer Series Appliances - sets 1 and 2. I'm still debating whether or not to do the Brights series, some of those colors are just a little overwhelming in such large doses!!

Finally some good news
After a beginning of 2008 I might wish on a person I hate, I was told great news by the doctor on Wednesday. My various blood tests came back with almost every thing in the places they need to be. My triglycerides are a little high and my HDL cholesterol is a little low, but for the most part everything else is "spot on".The "ugly toe" is healing nicely, only a dark spot under the nail shows any evidence it was every mangled.
Also this week, we had the roof properly repaired and the washer and dryer replaced so I can have clean underwear on a regular basis again! WOOT!
I still do not have a system that will play The Sims 2, but I have finally agreed to let someone help me with this, so I should be creating again soon WOOHOO!
So after a horrible start, 2008 is pulling up out of the nose-dive! Alleluia!
Update
My birthday was a few days ago, and I got some really special things, one of which was a new 320GB hard drive for my computer! I haven't gotten it situated with all my favorite programs yet (like the Sims, and simpe!) but I'm working on it! So I hope to soon have some recolors to share. I am still working on learning to mesh, so I won't be sharing any new meshes for a little while yet! ;)Kitchen Pending
The Flowers of May Day Kitchen is in the pending stage. I'm going to have to get myself in gear and get the bathroom set done. The bedroom set is done and half of the recreation set is done. I've been sidetracked lately.... I got Pets this week and I've been roleplaying at Dragon Fable during my spare free time instead of doing recolors. I'll get back on that this week though I promise. I just want to play around a bit with Pets and enjoy the addition of the animals to the game. By the way does anyone know if some one has created a Yorkshire terrier or a Pekingese for the game? Those are my two favorite breeds and neither one is even possible to make with the game creation tools. It bums me out.Wow, a month?
Has it been a whole month since I wrote anything in here? I knew I was short on time, but usually I try to say a little something once in a while.Anyway, things are crazy. I'm ramping up on a new job, trying to get my health under better control and in short just chewing up all my time with RL which means less time here.
Sorry, all I'll say is that I'll try to do better.
There isn't much time for meshing at the moment, so you'll have to bear with me on that front. I have some ideas, but no time to try them. Hopefully things will calm down soon. Have to wait and see.
I'm now two or three EPs and SPs behind as well.
Anyway, keep me in your thoughts and I'll try to come back as soon as I'm able. I'll still try to get you at least one thing a week.

Regarding Shalimar feels at Home Kitchen
Ok folks, I just had a look at the packages of the 'Shalimar feels at Home' kitchen. Having made this kitchen two and a half years ago, it lacks my today's standards and I don't want to rerelease the old version of this kitchen. Rather I'd like to remake the whole kitchen in much better texture and mesh quality.I hope you all agree with me since it seems so many love this kitchen and are waiting to download it. The only disadvantage is the older recolors won't work with this new version anymore. I'll see if I can come up with some recolors for the remake of this kitchen. :)

Depending on how much time I need to put in my school leaving examination the new kitchen will be hopefully published at the beginning of July.

WAHHH! Final School exams!
You've maybe noticed that i had not updated for the last two weeks, and i'm sorry but i don't have the time to update the next two weeks either :(Currently i'm in my final school exams.. That means only: learning, learning learning for math, german, biology and history. But i promise i'll be back in two weeks for sure!

Joinable statues
Over the years I have done a bit of dabbling into the object creating realm. Those items have been solely for my own game since they tend to use bases which cannot be distributed. I have now decided to finally publish some objects.Looking at other forums, there seems to be a want/need for fake Sims. My first object submissions here at TSR will be statues which can be used for store mannequins, art gallery statues, or even fake Sims. I am using the joinable bases from Lost Sims for these statues. They are compatible with just the base game, The Sims, so everyone can use them.
The first two statues are winter themed. I have used the SSX skins from Maxis (available at the official site or with Complete Collection). I plan to make various themed sets of these statues -- formal wear, swim wear, high fashion, maybe more winter wear, children, themed (Egyptian, Roman, Greek, pirate, Native American, etc), celebrities, and also a set using the Magic Town NPCs from Makin Magic for those who want to create a haunted house type of lot.
I will be creating a poll here on my mini-site so I can gauge what you the downloading public would like to have made as far as these statues/fake Sims are concerned. You are also free to comment here in my blog or PM me if you have a special statue/fake Sim request.
