Malfunction
Just a rant here...my game crashed (I think there was an overload of downloads, I was up to over 18,000!) four days ago and I'm having to start over with everything. :( I couldn't get to the neighborhood screen when loading no matter what I tried. (yes, I tried removing all downloads to no avail) This is especially disappointing because I have only backed up my own creations for preview shots, etc. and I had downloaded and played 2 custom neighborhoods. :(Grrrr! If anyone's had to start over with their game, you know what I mean. It's incredibly disappointing. All the saved families, neighborhoods, lots, screen shots, stories/albums, mods... I just want to cry thinking about it!
So, it's back to square one, trying to re-download everything I once had and nabbing some newer things in the process. Which isn't all bad because there's been a ton of great stuff recently and I'm finding a lot of older stuff I hadn't seen before. Who knew there was so much??
I think I'm going to have to be pickier with future downloads and just take it easy. I've been a download freak in the past and I have to admit to going on a mad downloading spree immediately following re-installation. hehe
The plus side is I'm starting with a fresh pallet. I've had a lot of great friends recommend some fantastic creations and I'm getting a lot of sympathy for my game crashing woes.

I'd appreciate your recommendations too! Downloading some of your favorites should help take away my game crashing woes. Right now I'm looking for just about everything except lots. (I always save lots for last & I do love building!)
On a sidenote, just to let everyone know I've been on my creating sabbatical for about a week now and given the situation with my game, I'll definitely be taking the full 2 weeks. I have made a few sets out of general boredom (and there were some textures that were just too good to let go to waste!) so you'll see those very soon. :)

NAME CHANGE
You may have noticed that my name in your bookmarks and in the forum has been changed to cathee from cat3cm. It's still me, so don't get confused! lolCute Boots
This is the first set I've made for little girls in ages. There are some very nice Maxis meshes hiding away in Bodyshop waiting to be made over, and I was delighted to discover this little gem. The only problem was that it didn't have a bump map originally but I added one (see excellent tutorial by Morague at MTS2) which allowed me to create a textured sweater, lace, ribbed woollen tights and textured boots. The boots really are so cute! I didn't change the boots much from the Maxis originals, just fiddled with the colours a bit. The rest of the outfit I changed completely, borrowing the skirt, sweater and tights from previous recolours of mine. I had initially made all the outfits with bare legs and then wondered how the outfits would look with tights. I think both versions work. So now there are eight to choose from in total.
These are complete outfits and are for little girls. The mesh is a standard Maxis mesh and the outfits are base game compatible, requiring neither expansion packs nor mesh downloads.
Working on Chapter 15
Yes, I'm plugging away at chapter 15. It's a really difficult chapter because it explains everything about the Real Bella. I have to go back to previous chapters and make sure that everything matches up and makes sense. I'm sure I may have forgotten something. The story has evolved since I originally began. The goal was the same but the reasons and the road there definately changed. I just hope no one will be disapointed with my view of Bella and why she left Pleasantview.I have a cooking class tonight and my brother is in town for 10 days and I would like to see him before he goes back to the Marines. Also hoorah, I can't wait to see Harry Potter 5 movie and unfortunately I'll be away again next weekend celebrating my one year anniversary!
I promise I'll get chapter 15 done before my next vacation.
Long time gone
Well, I haven't created anything in about 18 months. It's a long story which is of no interest. However, this week I've begun to start on a living room set. I hope to have submitted it within the next few days. I hope you enjoy, as it's been awhile!Break...
I'm going to take a short break from submitting for a couple of weeks. I've spent most of my free time making recolors that I haven't played The Sims in almost 3 months. I moved everything to a computer with more space since my game has grown and it severly needs to be sorted and organized. When I get back I'll have tons of stuff to add and everything (for the most part) will be in sets since a lot of people prefer that.Hope you're having a great summer!

Yeah I decided to update it for once. The site design is now less angry and kinda matches my TSR page. I wasn't sure I liked it at first but I'm getting used to it. Be sure to have a look at my site as I might upload different stuff there that isn't on TSR and so on. The "weather in my house" problem with boats!
I spent nearly 30 hours play-testing the two versions of the Marlin, and couldn't solve a slight "weather in my house" problem. It seemed that Sims thought the sloping curved bow area wasn't weather-tight! So I went ahead and published the boats yesterday anyway with a note.But this morning I went back and blitzed every test site as permanent winter. Guess what - it was the VaporWare Submergence Spa hot tub (the more expensive of the game's default tubs). Placed on the stage it creates a large hole. With the cheaper Bubble-Up Soaking Zone Hot Tub the boats should now be weather-proof!
I've changed the pics as well as the descriptions - and the Sims2Packs ..... well I think I have! ;)
POLL RESULTS
After a little less then a month the poll is over; I think I have a pretty good idea of the overall situation.The poll was asking which Expansion Packs people have.
140 people took part.
122 answered Seasons (87.2%), which is the most owned EP.
112 answered Open for Business (80%)
111 answered Nightlife (79.3%)
108 answered University (77%)
101 answered Pets (72%), which is the least popular EP
42 answered Base Game Only (30%)
The last number obviously cannot be true, since if 122 have Seasons and 43 have no EPs, we come up with a sum of 165, more than the participants. I think that some people have missed the word ONLY in the first option and have chosen Base Game, then ticking some expansion packs. If we presume that all those people only have Seasons, the new number for "Base Game Only" is 18 (12.8%), but it might be even smaller.
Anyway, this is what I learned from the poll.
1) Every time that I can, I will make my creations "base game compliant" (as I've done up to now) to let everybody access them, even those who have only the base game.
2) Don't make anything that requires Pets, which is the least owned EP; that's fairly easy, since I don't own that EP either, and I don't think I will buy it soon.
3) Get myself a copy of Seasons as soon as I can, so that when I cannot make something suitable for base game, at least the required EP is the one that will disappoint less people.
4) In all the other cases, I will use Open for Business and Nightlife as required EPs, since a good percentage of people have them.

Groovy Stuff Set 2
I am pleased to announce that I am almost finished with the Groovy Stuff Set 2. I hope to have it submitted later this week. Later today, I hope to have a preview of most or all of the set up!All I have left it is to finish two meshes, and tweak the other meshes if need be.
Also, I will be releasing other sets soon that are recolors of certain objects from the Groovy Stuff Set 1 and 2.

On Vacation by still submitting
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently on vacation. I'm at my parents in Minnesota for a family gathering. I should be back home either Monday July 16 or Tuesday July 17. Even though I am away from home, I still have things I'm submitting. The next two weeks will see skins from the television show Alias that I have had at my Yahoo group, and am now moving over here to TSR. The first set of skins will be from Seasons 1 and 2. The second set will be from Seasons 3 and 4. I'll be submitting the cast faces the following week, when I return home.More Work
My part time job seems to have turned into a full time job or one with odd hours. The hours are never the same so I can't get into a routine which really messes with my sims creating. Days off are spent on cleaning house and getting ready for the next time I work which usually is the next day. Hopefully as soon as inventory is done then I will have a more permanent schedule which in turn will allow me to get my creating back on track.I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying playing the sims with all the wonderful things being created by other artists. Coastal Lots
Well, following the trend, I've made a coastal lot. It's a home business sat out in the sea with an outdoor pool and lots of fun objects downstairs. Instead of a shop though, it's more of an arcade style business. People can dance to the DJ, play the games machines, cook themselves up some burgers and sit out on the patio and enjoy the view. Upstairs is a one bedroom apartment with nice sea views.

All I can say is that I love New York and am so glad to be home. I took some time and finished chapter 14 and uploaded it today. So hopefully it will bw published soon. I will also be starting chapter 15 ASAP.Poly poll results, new poll

Interestingly, most people either like or can handle higher poly items or just download and pay no attention to poly counts. Must be nice, because my old laptop really needs those lower poly items.
The new poll is a bit on the lighter side and has to do with my new sets coming out once a week.
Harry Potter Collection - Mrs Figg's House
**Order of the Phoenix spoiler warning** Harry always thought Mrs Figg was just a batty old lady that lived on her own and loved cats. However, in OOTP we find out she is in fact a squib, a non-magical person born from magical parents, who was asked by Professor Dumbledore to keep an eye on Harry while he was living in Privet Drive. Since the house is only two streets away from Privet Drive I decided to keep it in a very similar style, although since this is starter home it is smaller and furnished for an old lady with cats.

Elizabeth Rose Bridal Recolors
I am working on a few extra recolours for my "Elizabeth Rose Bridal" Collection. So far, I have completed the Bridesmaid Collection in pretty pastel shades. The set will be released on Monday 9th July.Next, I will be working on some flower girl gowns and Lingerie. Hopefully by the end of the month I will have the whole Elizabeth Rose Bridal Collection completed and released.

a HUGE mistake
The mesh for my "Valentino Spring Summer 2007 [03]" is the 26th mesh of Liana's not the second one!!I'm really really really sorry!!
Candle set part I
I love candles. So, tomorrow will be the first submission of a multi-part candle set. Every week a new part of the giant set will be published. All different types of candles! The first offering this week is a spiral candle base with four candles and several recolors of those candles.Hello all! :)

Groovy Stuff Set 2 Coming Soon!
Now that I have submitted the Open for Business Set 8, I have begun work on the Groovy Stuff Set 2. So far, I have nearly finished the desk mesh, moon rug mesh, and bookcase mesh. I still have several more meshes to make, and I may add a few more meshes if I come up with new ideas.After that, I will work on the Video Gamer's Room, with plenty of Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros fan-dedicated decor. I think that will be an interesting set!

How to build the Lighthouse
To build the lighthouse you need the Lighthouse Build set and the Invisible window and door set. Don't forget the collection files! The meshes will not clog up your catalogs with stuff that is not used very often. They will only appear in the collection files. 1. Make sure you have a flat piece of ground of at least 7x7. Build with normal walls a shape like in this picture.
2. Place the round wall segments agains the walls. You place them on the inside, they show up on the outside. You can use either the normal ones or the one with windows in it.
3. Place the wall segment with the door opening.
4. Use the invisble window on all maxis walls (except for the dooropening), so they will "disappear".
5. Place the door with the arrow pointing to the outside of the lighthouse.
6. Fill the floortiles inside the maxis walls.
7. Use the "floor ring" to cover up the unfilled floortiles.
8. Repeat these steps for as many levels as you want your lighthouse to have. For higher levels you may need to first place the floor tiles before placing the wall segments.
9. On the top level you can place the spinning light (needs Nightlife). You might need to use moveobjects on to place it.
10. Place the top part at the top.
11. Your lighthouse is ready! You still need to place the stairs. For that you can use the modulair stairs, in combination with a foundation (use the lower floor ring if you have a foundation part in the middle). Or you can use some custom stairs. Spaik made some fantastic 3-tile stairs, which will fit in perfectly in the Lighthouse.
Heart of Stone
Not my heart, hopefully.When I began creating stuff for the Sims, I made a couple of sets of stone floors called as the title of this blog entry. They weren't that bad, but I wasn't at all satisfied with them, since they were in general too plain and there were a few of them which were not seamless.
I finally found the time to fix and revamp them; I've substituted those that weren't seamless, and added some depth to the others. In the end, even if the sets date late 2005, they are completely new.
Fingernail Files Show Up In the Glasses Section of CAF/CAS
Hi folks,I neglected to mention in my downloads where you will find your new fingernails for your Sims once you install them. They will be located in your CAS/CAF (Create a Sim/Create a Family)area in Bodyshop. I believe it's in the second part of area 4 (the makeup area) under the glasses selection.
Also, please remember that you must get the fingernails mesh at Sims 4 Rent. The internet address is on the THS download page information. Entry to Sims 4 Rent and to download the mesh are both FREE. I will never refer anyone to a site where you would have to pay for anything in order to use one of my creations. My many thanks go to ShadyLady for creating this great mesh!
I hope you enjoy these fingernails. I never felt my Sims were complete without realistic looking nails. Now I will have to come up with some for the men also.

Indeed... The second tutorial is inflicted upon your good selves ttomorrow! this one goes more indepth and rather than my erm... blatant plagerism of maxis walls, I go about showing you (in a fashion) how to make your own walls from scratch! From finding the textures, the fancy pants cornicing etc plus several important notes and tips on unstretched walls, and submitting to TSR.Not a patch on Judi's ever so fantabulous walls, but hey! its a start!
On the work front - would you believe it? I am now a "Formally qualified DSE Workstation Assessor" Ooooooh!! Indeed I can now tell everyone how they should be sitting at their computers etc whilst I sit here, Laptop on a cushion, no wrist support, and I can without doubt say that when playing Sims2, i definately do not "take adequate breaks from my computer screen" oops!

I just got back from vacation and had a great time with my two little nephews. I am ready to resume my current project which was placed on hold while I was gone. I hope to have it finished and up by this weekend.Happy Independance Day America!

Stairs, stairs and more stairs
It seems that I'm only able to build stairs. Since I knew that Select Artists were allowed to participate in the Marine Theme Week, and I saw the great stuff that was going to be published, it came to my mind that a folding staircase could be nice for lighthouses or those lots that resembles a boat. So I googled "folding stairs" and found images of how they looked like. It took me a while to mesh them, and there's no way that I can make the animations working (that would need a much smarted artist than I am), but I think that they turned out well in the end. They will be published tomorrow, with some wooden and some metal recolours; please, let me know what you think about them.
