my crazy life

Well, it seems that as soon as I became an SA, my "real" life just went berserk. I've had a couple of business trips and a ton of other things that have kept me away from the computer. But...there is light at the end of the tunnel! Things are starting to settle down and this weekend should be quiet. I've already starting working on my next theme and have a couple more sets to go with the Cottage Decorating theme. I'll get some screenshots up soon!!! Hope everyone is having a great spring!

A new 18 mesh set will be released on the 1st May with 3 recolours to be published in the following 2 weeks.

I'm uploading a new mesh set: 15 new meshes for the SUEDE living room. It'll be published on Saturday 7th April with the three recolours to follow on the 11th, 14th, and the 18th.

'Rage' Living Room Recolor

I'm currently in the process of creating previews and uploading my next recolor set. It is, of course, by the featured artist: prin6je. It is her newest set, the 'Rage' Living Room set that I absolutely love!! It's a brilliant set and prin6je did an amazing job on it. It's been a lot of fun recoloring.

Water Pump Play

If you have read my tread in the forum, you have alredy seen my new item. My water pump altered to actually be possible to get water from. All ages can use it, but the toddler will have a ball with it!

Hi Again Kids!

Okay kitchen is done.. no more excuses for me.
'Puter is like brand new, actually I could have gotten a new one for the price we paid to upgrade this one. I have a great graphics card with it's own fan and more power..and I needed a new DVD drive even though I got it replace a year ago....so my 'puter is like shiny new and I'm happy.
Now for what's coming up. I recolored most of the Seasons country objects and I have added a surprise. It was something I wanted recolored. You'll have to wait and see.
I have the screenies done, now to size them to package up the stuff and upload and I'm done.

Tree House Set
I mean - it doesn't even LOOK like a tree! It makes an interesting house, but it's still just a house decorated (somewhat inexplicably) with branches and foliage.

But I've uploaded it anyway - dedicated to anyone as batty as me.

Ruby Living Room Set

I have just submittedt the Ruby Living Room set. This is my last of these types of living room sets.

Now that these living room sets are done, I will begin work on the Seasons Set 4 soon, and then I will begin a series of bedrooms, starting with the Onyx Bedroom set, then Cr�me Bedroom Set, followed by Sapphire Bedroom Set and Ruby Bedroom set. I will not make an Emerald Bedroom Set. But, this is just to let you know what I'm planning.

By the way... tomorrow, the 17th, the Seasons Set 3 will be published, and the 18th (Friday), the Emerald Living Room Set will be published.

Atrium House

I was extremely pleased with how a house I built for some of the characters in my Legacy turned out. It's a three-story house with an attached three-story atrium/greenhouse. I've now rebuilt it (sans most custom content and including room for a driveway, which I neglected on the in-game version), and uploaded it to TSR. And then I built a second version of it, on a wider lot, with a wider atrium and a second part of the house attached to the other side, which I plan to get uploaded some time in the next day or two. Still working on the cryo-bed, on and off. Mainly off, as the Soups have been seducing me with interesting storylines to go play and write about them instead of working on objects. Meanwhile my list of "objects I want to work on" keeps getting longer and longer... I've made another couple of counter-matching items, just a mini set of them since the counter they're for - the Impossible Mission counters from OFB - already have vast amounts of matching items. I wanted a couple of Missionaire-style tables that incorporated the stained glass insets from the Impossible Mission counters, plus matching un-padded chairs, and made both a plain (wood only) and fancy (with stained glass) version of each... since I had to make the plain versions of both anyway en route to the ones with the fancy-shmancy inserts! Just need to do a minor tweak to the meshes for those and then they will be ready to post as well.

New uploads

2 became 1, a new nursery . with ducks! After a lot of very unsuccesfull work with meshing, I went back to what I know, recoloring, but it doesen't meen that I have given up, ooh no, I will just keep on trying and trying untill I succeed - who could possible have known that meshing was that hard to do - i have even more respect than ever for those who master this art to a perfection - just go and take a look of some of the FA's. Well I am not expecting to be that good, but a least just something that diden't look like a piece of clay a 3 year old kid has thrown around for a day or two, that would be nice :) But untill then I will keep uploading recolors, and today it's the Happy Duck Nursery, tomorrow who knows :D

Home from my trip....

My daughter and I returned from our trip to Jamestown, VA yesterday and we're exhausted. We went with her school orchestra to the America's 400th Anniversary celebration. Her school was the only middle school that was chosen to perform in the celebration. (groups from all the other states were high schoolers) My daughter was then selected along with about 10 kids from her orchestra to perform with the Virginia Symphony for the President of the United States! I can't even put into words, the pride I felt at seeing my daughter up there on the stage with the President. It was amazing!

Now it's time for me to get caught up on all my Sims creations. I have lots of stuff that I didn't have time to upload before I left on the trip. So be on the lookout for new creations from me. :)

Emerald Living Room Set

I am currently working on the Emerald Living Room set. I should be able to start submitting tonight, but I am still tweaking the sofa. I have one preview of this set so far: Along with this set, I am still trying to figure out what the next two sets will be. Seasons Country furniture

I have had several requests to recolor the Seasons Country furniture in mission furniture wood colors. So I have begun working on them. They will be done over the next few weeks. I have done them with an inlay of wrought iron decor. Hope you like them. Enjoy!

New Homes!

Yes, I FINALLY have some new lots done! Three have been submitted today. One doesn't require any expansion packs, one requires only Nightlife, and the other requires Nightlife, Open for Business, and Seasons. I'll update to let you know when those will be available. I've finally decided what I'm going to do, in terms of expansion packs. I have two computers that I use regularly to build/upload, so I've made one the computer that has all the expansion and stuff packs on it along with whatever custom content I like to use, and the other computer I have free of custom content with only Nightlife, Open for Business, Seasons, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Stuff, and Celebrations Stuff on it. Hopefully these two combinations make for enough variety so that I can build lots that will appeal to everyone. I'm also hoping one of these days to get into object-making. I think what I'd like to do first, though, is try my hand at clothing before I go into objects. I hope to spend this summer working through some more tutorials before I mess around too much! :)

Wizard Roofing!!

A bit of a problem here. On the houses I will be submitting for the Bannoch Village series, (at least for a while) ... the original roofing for these houses will have to be downloaded separately. For some unknown reason (at this time) I cannot get my custom roof recolor into the packaged lot. I have tried everything this past weekend but with no luck. So if you download Harrow Cottage (and future cottages) ... it's going to have a regular Maxis roof *curses and spits 3 times*. The 'Wizard Roofing' is coming soon ... I just uploaded it ... and it will be available on May 17. And it does make a difference in the appearance of the cottage(s). I am so sorry ... never had this problem before ... and will continue to hunt for a solution (so frustrating *curses and spits*, again)! And Francien & Elven Ranger! ... I truly hope you like Harrow Cottage ... it looks much better in the game than the preview pictures. Pictures are a little too dark and make the green siding look icky ... but really the siding is nice.

Yeah, I know. It's been that kind of year for me.

I've come a long way (I think) in my recoloring - this latest Texture Challenge (TC40) I've even recolored non-maxis stuff! Simaddict99 gave me permission to recolor some of her objects, but I have to read up on her slave/master technique a little. I'd love to do something with her mission style nursery. She has so many fabulous creations!

Most of my progress is due to the TC community. They're a great bunch! I've really enjoyed working and learning with them. They're inspiring and helpful, and it's really neat to see what we each come up with when working with a given texture. There are so many different ways we interpret the same things, it's just fabulous when it all comes together. I plan on making a house out of TC40, and some TC39 items that Simari did are really neat, I want them for my game!

Thanks to all the folks in the TC (whether newbies or seasoned veterans): Momama, Atwa, Simari, Eisbaerbonzo, Tlkaska, ImmeK, Diamond, Minsmusic, Ricci2882, Jay27, Bennyboy, Moza, Poohbear, Mayskaya, dhaissa, Simari...I hope I didn't leave anyone out... I know a few have only dabbled in the creating process, but everyone is always overflowing in positive feedback and help!

Poll results, new poll and new set coming

So, it look like people don't pay much attention to whether you are a FA/SA or what, in terms of downloading, as long as they like it. But they don't primarily download from untitled artists. I had a couple of comments that stated they filter for free stuff, which I can completely understand. I like free stuff too. So, what I take that to mean is this: if you filter for free stuff, you are going to download mostly SA unless you find something from a nontitled artist that you like. If you are a subscriber, it looks like it doesn't matter if you are FA or SA.

I am posting another poll on what kinds of things you like to download.

OK, new set is coming in the next couple of weeks. I am doing a bedroom this time and I am really happy with it. It is going to be a big set with new meshes for bed, mirror, wall sconce candles, dresser, endtables, a wall, two plants to put on the dresser (!) and an abstract art sculpture. In addition, I have done a set of recolors of a rug, two paintings, a lamp, a working ceiling fan and plantation shutters. Just like the last set, I will be only publishing the original mesh set and letting Darqstar do all the initial recolors. That worked out extremely well last time and I really enjoyed working with her. As we get closer to the publication date, i will post pictures here. I don't want to spoil the surprise too soon or have someone scoop me, to be honest.

Mistress attempts Spelling error free blog post shocker!!!

Indeed! I am going to attempt a first for me today - I am going to type a bit slower and more carefully in order that I may produce at least one blog entry that has no spelling errors in it at all! - Correct punctuation aside of course! Do you folks realise how long that paragraph just took me??!! I refuse to say for fear of pointy laughing type gestures. Today I though i'd do one of those "insert some random picture someone thought it would be highly amusing to send me" things that has the slight undertone of "saw this and thought of you" messages... Hah hah haw! indeed... But anyway! What have I been upto this weekend? Well, apart from running around like a mad banshee woman tidying and cleaning one has been indulging in another of my un rock n roll passions - that of Cross Stitching - ok ok, stop laughing! Jeez! I got into this when I was having a right old rough time with my crumbling dust type bones. Making huge pretty pictures from teeny tiny little xxxxxx and ///// things - sometimes I can actually do that once ive spent several hours threading the flaming needle! This one Im doing now is of an American Indian releasing an eagle into the sky, and it has a burning red/orange and gold sunset in the background - and i can safely assume i will have a lot more grey hairs by the time that is finished! Speaking of Mad banshee tidying up - I came across David's rather battered leather jacket plus leather waistcoat jacket sewn on the top with Motorhead patches all over it from his - well, less quiet gardening days of headbanging so hard he gave himself whiplash injury... Im surprised he hadnt compressed his spine with the sheer weight of it... a hefty 10kg! Edit: This post was repeatedly edited over 74 times to correct awful, inexcusable spellings - this edit alone was edited 14 times.. go on, laugh all you want - I have my fingers in my ears and im singing so I cant hear youuuuuu!

Current projetcs

I have been on a short holliday all week, so there isen't much to upload today, but in the next few days, i am counting on having 2 new recolored rooms ready for uploading. Since I haven't started yet, I am not quite sure what type of rooms they will be, but i am thinking of a livingrooom or an office, but nothing is decided yet :) and at the same time, i will probaly upload a ton of other stuff, most of my paintings, rugs and wallpapers, is useually "side effects" of my atemps to create a full room. I will add some pitures to this entry, as soon as i have finished some items.

Last, but defiantly not least, i will like to thank all of you who have downloaded, commented, signed my GB, thanked or even bookmarked me. I am very happy that you like my work, and you all are the reason to continiue - even when nothing seem to work :) Thank you!!

Hair colors and Meshes

Hey all,

I just explained to one user the situation with my hair colors and sunair's hair meshes so I thought I would put the same explanation here in my blog.

All of my hair colors are FREE and most of the meshes for my hair colors are also free EXCEPT Sunair's hair meshes. Sunair is a featured artist here at tsr and because of her title most or all of her creations (including her hair meshes) are through SUBSCRIPTION ONLY. I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about it.

I understand that everyone that downloads my hair colors don't have a subscription, which is why I do hair colors for other creators with free meshes (peggysims, xmsims,...)I also have people with subscriptions that love the hair colors I do of Sunair's hair meshes and that's why I continue to do them.

I hope everyone understands this and if you have any questions or comments just let me know.

More Sims stuff to come

Well, I feel like TSR is a different place since I stepped back! So many changes have occurred! Well, my work situation has stabilized and I'm back to a nice 40 hour work week! YAAAAAYYYY! And I bought Seasons and I must say that it's probably my favorite game so far. I love the ladybugs especially. :) Well, I'm working on some new meshes and I'm going in a new direction. I loved being an FA, but now that I've laid that aside, I feel a bit freer. I always felt a bit obligated to do certain things--not that TSR made me feel that way, but I just did. Now, I feel like I can create for me again! Anyway, I'm just glad that my work has calmed down so I can have a more balanced life! :)

I don't get it!!!!

I have mentioned this topic before in my blog, (see third entry) and it seems that if you folks looked at it you don't care. I have noticed a very bad trend when it comes to TSR in general. Less than 10% thank you on an item. And to be honest I really don't understand what the problem might be. Ok I know of a couple, one is that some folks here are upset that TSR got rid of the number rating system, which I was never a big fan of. The other reason I have heard is that folks think if they download your creations there is no need for anymore. I have also hear that some people believe the new system is just too �hard� to figure out. But to be honest I believe it's more than that. I might be wrong, and I hope some folks let me know I am, but I think folks just don't care. First off Thanking a creation couldn't be easier. It's a simple link under the download button. Second if you won't click thank you because you like number rating better, get over it. I am glad it's gone because it causes a lot of hard feeling and it allows folks to rate hate someone. Third if you believe all you have to do is download, then your just lazy. Try clicking a link and see how good it makes you feel. Now I can't make folks do this, because if I could I would. What some of you don't understand, is that it takes time to create things. Time most of us could be playing instead, and then where would TSR be? So we take the time and try to make the best things we can for all of you to enjoy, and all we ask for is a little recognition. Of course we would also like comments that let us know you really liked it, but a simple thank you goes a long way!!!!! So next time you download from any artist here at TSR, remember to at least click the thank you button. We will all appreciate it, trust me.

STUD CRAZY!!!!!

OK. I admit it. I've gone absolutely crazy with these objects! I can't seem to stop recoloring them! I have about 10 sets ready to go. Only the red and purple ones in the picture from the previously blog entry are pure colors. After that, I got into textures. Here is a little preview. There are maybe 30 sets to come in all - provided that you enjoy downloading them as much as I like creating them, of course! If no one likes these, tell me now so I can stop and catch my breath!

Bauhaus inspiration

I have recently been introduced to the Bauhaus style of building.

In a time of political turmoil in Europe, the Bauhaus school was created as a place for craftsman and artist to work together without class distinctions or discrimination.

The Bauhaus school was started in Germany in 1919 but only started offering classes in architecture in 1927.

Radically breaking with the past, the Bauhaus Masters and their students ushered in a modern era and a new way of thinking about architecture.

"The approach of the Modernist architects was to reduce buildings to pure forms, removing historical references and ornament in favor of functionalist details." (Wikipedia)

Bauhause style is also refered to as International style.

Although my two Bauhaus inspired houses (1 & 2 Berlin Street) are not replicas of any existing buildings I hope you will enjoy them and that they might inspire you to find out some more about this facinating style of architecture.

oh my im HYPEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!

Wow.. I mean I really am! after discovering that the pharmacy was potentially trying to kill me off altogether by prescribing me 3 TIMES the correct dosage of my new "Pain Killers" which happen to be Tablets that Epilepsy sufferers use to prevent the fitting... I was confused at this too, but apparently they have been used duccessfully for people with Diabetic Neuralgia too so my doc thought I should give them a whirl... and guess what? They WORK! a lot of the general pain has gone, im a bit stiff, but other than that ive only had to take 2 ot my normal painkillers in 5 days so far - thats down from say, 30 Co-Codamol's to 2! How good is that?!

However - the side effect is that im so unbelievable hyper, it like im one of theose Pregnant women doing that barmy nesting thing before they give birth, Ive rushing around everywhere soing so much stuff, my head is racing all the time - I just can stop - heck im even typing this with so much speed i have to keep stopping to check im not just mashing the keyboard and at least some of this is actually readble!!! Dave is just looking real confused as Im flying around the house cleaning, washing and doing all manmner of niggly jobs ive ben putting off for god know how long!

In a way I hope the hyperness stays cos i feel really good and awake and able to do things instead of that "Crack, Crunch, groan" each time i get up.. Hail Gabapentin!!!

I made the butterflie flowers as garden flowers also. They still don�t raise the room score much but they looks nice, and adds a little fun!

The Bees Knees!!

Hey everyone! Been a while, so I figured I would update you all on whats going on in my creative world these days. As of this posting, "Borderline" should be just about released, which I am very fond of. Its a bit of a tribute to 80's era Madonna, and my own (top only) take on that popular Tata Young Sim that's going around. I love the idea of a peek-a-boo bra strap, and tons of chains with charms. I think it will be just what some you are looking for, and the rest of you will probably scrunch up your nose, which is perfectly understandable! (its a take it or leave it kind of look, after all)

On the flip side of that sort of idea, I have created the first outfit for my Fifties collection, and I call it Que Sera. (get the reference?) I called it that because, quite simply, it reminds me of the spunky gal who sings that song. The cardigan is actually modeled after a modern sweater, which has been one of my favorites. It has an obvious 50's flavor, and I thought it would look adorable with a tweed-type skirt, and cute little heels. I had a real problem finding the right kind of mesh to use, and I settled on one of Chriko's gorgeous meshes. I say "settled" because, the shoes are not quite perfect on this particular mesh. The shoe is meant to be a kind of flip-flop style, so even though these are full shoes, they separate from the sole during certain parts of the walking animation. I dont think its too noticeable unless you are really looking, so hopefully you gracious folks will overlook it. That's a tough kind of decision for me to make, because I am a real stickler for the details, but there was simply no other mesh that would do, and the adjustments to the design would have had to be extreme in order to make it okay, and by then it would lose its authenticity. Below is a picture of one of the full outfits, and below that is a demonstration of the shoe glitch. (That is an extreme example, just to give you an idea of how it looks at its worst. For the most part, that never happens.)





Oh, and by the way - check out my forum thread for a picture of another sweater update coming soon, this one being quite a bit more modern than these two pieces I have just been talking about.
