Updated: 2-tile fan windows

Remember the two-tile animated fan window? Well, I told you about an update to the diagonal version, but forgot to tell you that you need to download both the diagonal AND straight-wall versions! I'm so sorry about that. Here are the links...

Straight window
Diagonal window

(entire set)

My mistake (as usual), so both of these meshes have been set free for four weeks from tomorrow (13 March).

Updated: Decorative Pipework set

Not satisfied with rusty chemical tanks with high room scores, my entire decorative pipework set also carried a stupidly high environment score!

Decorative Pipework

All have been amended to have a zero environment score, and set to be free for four weeks from 12 March 2007 in case you downloaded the set with a subscription, but don't have one now.

Thanks to fw190a8 for spotting this.

New! Pipework column (off-centre)

I've added a new column to the pipework column set. This one is off-centred so that it intersects with the pipework fencing in the pipework super-set.

Off-centred Column

Released tomorrow (12 March 2007).

Lost but found: edge trim for curved wall set!

This piece should have been included in the Curved Wall Set but wasn't. So, I've uploaded it and it will be set to free for four weeks from 12 March 2007.

Straight Edge Trim

Thanks to Uma Design for spotting this.

Updated: Chemical Tank

Rather stupidly, this chemical tank had an environment score of 10, meaning any royal personage should be GRATEFUL to have this item gracing their ballrooms!

Chemical Tank

So, suitably amended to have a zero environment score, and set to be free for four weeks from 12 March 2007 in case you downloaded this tank with a subscription, but don't have one now.

Mother's Day Cards

Hello! :D Our Sim mum's need some pampering! I have made a brand new set of cards especially for Mother's Day. They are due to be published on the 13th March. They cost 25 simoleons, and the mesh has 50 polygons. Here's an ingame description and a preview picture. :D Make every Sims Mum feel special on Mother's Day by displaying this set of five cards near her favourite chair as she relaxes, watching the TV, or reading her favourite book whilst her Sims family make the dinner and do all of the housework while she puts her feet up.

Rainbow Box Files

Hello! :D They are completed and ready to go! The colours match the Rainbow Sets of the notebook tables and chairs and stationery sets. They can be found under: Decorative/Sculptures. They cost 49. What I'm really pleased about with these, is that I've been learning how to use less polygons in meshes, and with this set, there is only 18 polygons! :D Here's the ingame description and a preview picture. :D Do your Sims keep misplacing important documents? Is their paperwork for their businesses scattered everywhere when it should be hidden away safely? This colourful set of Box Files will keep all of those loose bits of paper neat and tidy. *Edited 12th March 2007* Updated number of polygons.

Dipping the toes

Well, Im getting "The Urge" again... I would LOVE so much to be able to do more than Walls Floors and Pictures, I would LOVE to be able to create a room! You know, the matching Curtains, Bedding and such... I just cannot get my head around shodows, Shading (aka ruffles and pleats!) and say, wood testures... Argh!!!

I WILL get there one day - no matter how many more people I have to Harrass!!! Be careful, It could be you next!!!

Floor Blitz!

Wow.. I have been busy, just released and upcoming are loads and LOADS of floors, I decided that there were not enough Natural floors in my ever expanding Downloads folder, so heck, I went and made some! I did them all on a 5x5 scale so the pattern didnt look too squished up and repetative, so i hope you all like them...

I, along with several other people absolutely adore to use that excellent Reflective floor tile that Murano Makes... It is just like Bitzybus' Mirror tile, but with this one, you can place the "tile" over the top of absolutely ANY existing floortile you have.. you are not tied to the recolours of Bitzybus' tile.. I love her tile but, because i also like making my own, I love this one too... Just click on any one of my Natural Floors collection to find the link for this excellent Free surface... Co-incidentally (or not!!) All of my floors look darn fantastic with this surface over the top, especially the Slate and Granite floors...

Am I dreaming?

Hi everyone! First off I would like to thank TSR, my bestest friends and last but certainely not least all of you who kept downloading and commenting and keeping me going. I'm so thrilled to have become a Select Artist, it's been my dream to be at least well known to a few people here on TSR, ever since I joined this great community. And this is a dream come true.

All right now, moving on... Before anything I'd like to ask you all to head off to Serasims and get all of her meshes, because I have all of them and might probabley use them to create custom clothings. So I suggest you all to go there and download all of her meshes.

Okay, the third point I'd like to mention was that Iranian New year is coming soon, so I'm gonna be having loads and loads of new creations, so look forward to that. *wink*

If you have any questions, comments, critisms, or anything like that, feel free to PM me or sign my guestbook.

So long,
Lemon
P.S: You may call me Faranak.

L shape stairs mini tutorial

To make an L-shaped stairs, like in my Extreme Sim Homemakeover Episode 5, you first need to have Open for Business or Seasons installed. Then, build adjacent walls, and click on the foundation tool, then click on the last option like so: Then place a stage in the corner like so: Now, go to the Connection/Modular Stair tool: Place a stair on the stage leading down to the ground like so: Now, go to the next floor, and place a floor tile like so, and then you can connect stairs from the floor tile to the stage: There! And that's all there is to it! Happy simming! ~simmyfan2852~

I just though I'd let you know my progress on some of my projects...

2. University Set 1: Near completition; just have to import into game, check how objects look, and make previews

3. Onyx Living Room Set: Attempted to start one of the meshes, but that's about it

As for my stories...

Recolours

Hi, I have finally managed to wrap my brain around SimPE Wizard and am busily recolouring everything that stays still long enough. If you want anything in particular recoloured (am only doing Maxis stuff at the moment) let me know and I will have a bash at it.

I am continuing with my walls and floors as well, should have some new ones up for you in the near future. Happy simming :)

More hair colors!

I have two more sets of hair color coming soon, both are from one of my favorite creators, Sunair. Let me know if you liked them. Hugs, queenie.

Caution

I found out that I can create sets from items previously released under other sets. With that in mind and with the results of the current poll so obvious, I created bathroom sets out of all my bathroom object collections. Those who have previously downloaded some of the items in the set need to be careful not to introduce duplicates into their system. Generally if you overwrite any content you install from these sets you should be okay. Just wanted to put this out there so you can avoid any problems. In the meantime new downloaders will be happy because they will have complete bathrooms to download.

I wish to further state that the pictures for the bathroom sets do not represent how I would build a bathroom. They are just a means to display all the items. Generally, I'd try to add something in white or off-white to offset the main color. Or maybe have one main color and a second accent color. And of course, I'd have one wall and floor or the other, not both!

Whats coming up...

Here is a house I've been working on...It should be available by end of March! Its a mid-sized european based design with 3 bedrooms and great curb appeal: The following house will be the third last house of my "Grand Estate Collection - Series 2" of a 2 series collection...A very spacious design with 4 large bedrooms (the master is like a house on its own) and large principle rooms on the main floor. This house is still under construction - should be available mid April:

My first request

Hello, I got a request to make face masks. I normally do not take requests but I thought this would be funny to create something like this. This is not really a necessary stuff but if someone makes lot of stories, maybe about a bored housewife then I think this stuff could be very useful. Will be soon available. For the undone beauties :-)

Slowly Updating

I have been slowly but surely uploading my Mission set. This is what's left:
Bar Stool
Dining Chair
Recliner
Sofas
After that I have a couple of other recolours that I did a while ago.
Also I got Seasons and there's a new Country Set that's pretty big that I' going to experiment with. Wish me Luck!
Thanks for visiting!
Mel

Big Project

I'm working on a big project (of the simmy variety). Don't be too surprised if you don't see any new sets from me for a L-O-N-G time. This one is going to take me a while....more info later.

Taking a break

I am taking a break for a while. Its almost impossible for me to submit here thus for the time being you will mostly see me posting on TS2Creations.

Take care everybody and thanks for all your nice comments!

What's New!

Hello Everyone! Real life is keeping me very busy, and this month I don't have nearly as much time to create for the Sims as I would like :(

I hope to release my upcoming Vintage Victorian Prams set later this month. I need to create a few more object recolors and take screenshots for the set.

My next project is a Victorian Scullery/Laundry set. I'm not sure why I am creating a laundry set. Laundry is my least favorite household chore, LOL! I hope to share a few screenshots of the set soon.

I have received several requests to update the Victorian Inspired Kitchen refrigerator for Season's EP. That will be the first object I will update once I purchase Seasons. I also plan to update my vintage bathtub and typewriter/computer for Pets. Take Care, and Happy Simming!

Winter Warmers

I'm even later in uploading this week as I've been playing the new Seasons EP - I'm sure you'll understand!! Anyway, here's a set of girl toddler outdoor wear for you - hope you like them! Happy Simming!

These darn viruses!

Sorry guys - I've been laid low by a nasty virus that has kept me in bed for most of the past 3 weeks now. I've done some things here at TSR, but get very weak in a short while so what I can do is limited.

However, it's getting better slowly, and I'm trying to reply to all my messages and comments gradualy - hope you feel patient! ;)

Andy

Bang-On-A-Can for Pets

Silverdreams asked if the Bang-On-A-Can bath tub could be made Pets-ready...

Consider it done! A Pets-ready bath and two recolours will be released Thursday 15 March! It goes without saying that this version of the bath requires Pets - but it won't replace the existing bath if you downloaded it. Your choice: replace it with this one or keep both.

Thanks to everyone who sent their wishes. I'm not at all 'back' yet, but I wanted to keep a download or two coming your way. Another set (heating and cooling) will be out shortly too!

Rosalinde's Caravan and Seasons EP

A slight problem here if you are using the Seasons EP (who knew?). The roof will not keep the snow and rain out of the cars. To fix ... remove roof panels and lay flooring down, replace roof panels. This will take care of the problem.

Eden Village - New Series!

The first of my Eden Village lots will be released tomorrow, Sunday 11th. The focus of this series will be on country living and gardens (of Eden, geddit?!), to make the most of the new Seasons EP.

I must admit I'm totally captivated by Seasons. The lighting effects and look of each season, along with the weather are amazing. I've actually been playing the game for the first time in ages, instead of just building and testing.

Anyway, here's some more pics of Eden Village - Home Business. You didn't think I'd forgotten the Tudors, did you?!

Please note that you DON'T NEED Seasons to use the starter version of this lot!

Here's the exterior photographed in Autumn:

A few shots of the garden:

An overview of the shop and greenhouse:

And a couple of shots of the cottage interior at night:

There are no plants or produce included with this lot - your Sims will have to get fishing and planting when they move in... but so far, the Flower family that I have living and working here are doing ok!

Tiger :-)

Poll

Hello all, Just to let you know I have set a new poll all about size, style and price of housing. Please could you spare a few moments to fill in this survey, as I would love to be able to create just the right property for you! Gemmc

Struggling with clothing categories

With SimPE up on blocks while the transmission is being worked on, I thought I might take a moment to explain the way artists might manually use SimPE to change the clothing category to outerwear for some of their items while we wait. SimPE will try to scare you with a warning, but ignore that for the moment; but whatever you do, DO NOT Hack Your Neighbourhood or Sims!! When you open the package file with SimPE - locate and click the Property Set on the small left top panel, then the file will appear in the long skinny right top panel, click that also. then the items will display. the edit box is to the right at the bottom, you will see a number like 0x00000027 just change the number to 0x00001027 and click the commit button. it's as easy as that. You need to think in terms of hexadecimal ennumeration to get this right. See this Wikipedia article for an explanation of hexadecimal ennumeration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexadecimal Used by clothing & accessories & hair category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000007 casual/everyday category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000008 swim-wear category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000010 pyjamas/lingerie category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000020 formal category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000040 underwear category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000100 maternity category (dtUInterger) = 0x00000200 activewear/athletic category (dtUInterger) = 0x00001000 winter-wear There are obviously other values that might be added here, but I don't believe they are important to this exercise. If you wish to make a multi-function item like a hair or ear-rings or clothing you add the numbers, here is an example: + 0x00000007 casual/everyday + 0x00000008 swim-wear + 0x00000010 pyjamas/lingerie + 0x00000020 formal + 0x00000040 underwear + 0x00000100 maternity + 0x00000200 activewear/athletic + 0x00001000 winter-wear + 0x0000137F all clothing states You can use the Windows Calculator in Scientific mode to use "Hex" values.

Sims 4 or 5 or 6

Back on 2 Nov 2006, Electronic Arts announced that it was beginning work on The Sims 3 (working title) for release in 2009 (according to EA CFO Warren Jenson), not a bad legacy for a game Will Wright had a devil of a time convincing EA to make in the first place. As each generation of CPUs and VPUs becomes more sophisticated, and the interest in The Sims franchise continues, I wonder what lays ahead. Pixel shading and improved fast-render engines may well make the next generation of Sims games look more real than ever before, but, really, what good is visual quality if the game play is limp? It really would turn the game into little more than a cheap rendering software, and though there may be some that want that, it would certainly lose out on the gamer-market. There has been a certain degree of limpness in playing The Sims 2 that wasn't there in The Sims. It seems to me, that the more I add to the downloads folder, the less there is in the game. EA released skin packs for The Sims that have no parallel in The Sims 2: Command & Conquer Renegade Skins Packs. Though largely unlovely as packaged, they certainly were a great benefit to all us skinners who wanted to make motorcycle gangs from the 27th Century. And really, there was a devilish playfulness in the development team that wasn't afraid to try different things that isn't quite present in the current run-up of the game. Plastic milk shipping carton furniture is a stock item of university campuses all over the USA, yet not a single item in the University EP along these lines. Ramen noodles are a staple of the university student diet, yet these are conspicuous by their absence from the game. Even the beer-can sculpture was more real than the bizarre "2007" glasses and chicken hats. Many of the features of The Sims Hot Date EP were a lot of fun, the dance cage and the stage lights were IMHO a lot more entertaining than the bizarre and contrived "Smustle". I don't mind goofy behaviour in my sims, I still love the original game for the animations in Superstar EP and Makin' Magic EP, but this "Smustle" thing >_< There are lots of legitimate reasons for us to want the ability to make new animations. New dances, new poses, new interactions. Sure, there will be those who use them to more nefarious ends, but that is the nature of all communities that grow around any game. Doom 3 was the only game I ever knew where duct tape was the first mod, we all know what the first one was for every other game. If EA really wants to make this a game about user customisation (as it keeps claiming), they need to start operating with more transparency toward the modding community. If we wanted to just make movies we'd probably buy The Movies, if all we wanted was a house-building software we'd probably buy some 3D Home Designer software; but we didn't want those things, we want a game we can take hold of and shape into exactly the world we want. So how about it EA? How about you start coming up off the secrets so we can blow the roof off this game? How about we get back to the good old days of you taking a gamble on silly idea that aren't stale, but are genuinely clever... even a repeat of an old joke is better than a lame new one!

Thank You!!

I am very thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to become a SA!! This is a great group of very talented artists! I would like to take this time to thank the TSR and all my fans that downloaded and enjoyed my creations. I look forward to bringing some new and awesome creations to this site in the future...

The shape of Sims to come...

I have been working on and off in the gaming industry for more than a decade, and I have to say that largely most of the games that have come along since the 3D-revolution aren't particularly better than their non-3D counterparts and predecessors. It seems game-makers spend so much time and money making the 3D fast-render software in the games they end up being overly frugal on the play part, which leaves me asking the question why do it at all?

I look at the way other games have turned more and more to massive multi-player online time wasters and live in constant dread of the day another inane attempt to make the Sims will happen. The Sims Life Stories is by accident an incredible tool for custom content creators, it loads in 10 seconds and almost every base-game compatible object I have tried works. So as a test bed it is marvellous, but an online version of this generation of Sims would be silliness and R&D cash waste on a scale that would damage the viability of the Sims franchise, let's hope they don't do it.

In the mean time, I will be making an effort to make as much of MY creations SLS compatible, let's hope all creators make the effort with at least a few of their things. It will make TSR a bit more inclusive, and that is what the Sims needs more of.

Thank you

Thank you thank you thank you TSR and all those wonderful people who like my items enough to download them. I really am excited to be a TSR Select Artist and hope I can continue to earn the honor.

This month's freebies! :-)

There are TWO free lots on offer this month... that's on top of any Seasons lots I make which will also be free for March.

First up is Town Tudor, on a 3x1 lot. I'm really fond of this lot and I hope you'll give it a go. It's all set for a small family and has just about everything they may desire!

Here's a couple of different shots than those shown in the preview pics. It's designed to work well in a town or country setting:

Upstairs:

Downstairs:

The pool area:

I was REALLY chuffed with how I fitted so much in on that lot! ;-)

The other free lot is my Storybook Bakery, which is featured in this month's Newsletter :-)

This one really is a fave of mine so I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Tiger :-)

Finaly ready!

Well OK, that was just a bit more then a few days I needed to get my newest set ready. But instead of just a dresser, I added 2 dressers, a mirror, a cornerpiece, a bed-endtable, bookcase-books, a lamp and some walldecoration. In the end I had a little trouble making all objects (12 meshes and 2 recolors) visible in the preview-picture. But I think most of it is more or less visible. For the one's that consider it all a little bit to black (I can imagine that!), I'm planning on making a lightwood recolor.

Let's see...

I started playing with the Sims 1 x years ago and for x years...
I found out about TSR another x years ago...
... and downloaded x GBs of stuff for my game (I love being very specific).
Then I thought that it would be very nice to create and share my own stuff but I couldn't even figure out what I should do...
So I kept on downloading without giving anything back to the community....

Then the Sims 2 came out!!!
First the Bodyshop, then the Homecrafter... I had to give it another try!
I still remember how proud I was of myself when I submitted my first creations. Of course now, when I am looking back at them, my eyes suffer from terrible pains and sometimes they even bleed, but what the heck! I was successful at last!
I believe I will eventually "edit" and try to improve a bit those first submissions, but still... I cannot do miracles (yet).

Anyway, the urge to create came from my love for the game. Unlike other creators I was playing with my Sims for endless hours, especially during the weekends.
But I was carried away and stopped playing.
...A while later I stopped creating as well... I guess I lost my inspiration, which was the game itself.

The TSR challenges came to my rescue... What can I say, I love challenges!
Gave me a reason to start playing again, not to mention how many things I learned for the game (I never thought of woohooing with a robot, lol).
So, little by little, also the urge to create came back and here I am working on something new! It may take long to complete the project though as I will not make the same mistake again... I will not give up my Siming!

So, see you around... and don't forget, if you encounter any problem at all with any of my creations please let me know, I will be happy to help!
Happy Siming to all of you and thank you for stopping by

Luna
(I don't remember why but some people call me Maria)

Surprise!

I was completely surprised to get the PM this morning. I am still a bit floored, but I have to admit, I love the new minisite. I am sure I will be playing with the settings a bit to see what configuration I like best.

OMG!!!

Talk about a major shock when I signed on this morning and saw that I was a selected artist! I'm so happy that you all think my creations are good enough to earn this title, thank you so much! And thanks to everyone that's welcome me.

Turnaround

It seems there has been a turnaround in my poll. Livingrooms are now leading kitchens as the most preferred room to download. I'll have to see if I can come up with some living rooms for you to enjoy. Bedrooms are still in the running as well. I'll let this poll run through tomorrow, I think, then I'll have to come up with something new. So if you haven't voted, now is the time to do so. Thanks to all who participated!

Upcoming Sets and Upcoming Stories

First, I will announce my next three sets.

1. Pets Set 3. Since Glamour Life Set 2 has already been published, and this was the other choice voted for most, I will be making this set.

2. University Set 1. Since I've never done a set for University, I will do so.

3. Onyx Living Room Set. My first set in a while that's not dedicated to an expansion pack.

Now, for my upcoming stories.

I will be making a Part 3 of the O'Mackey Tragedy (soon)

I will also be making an Extreme Sim Homemakeover Episode 5.

That's it for now,
Happy simming!

~simmyfan2852~

I can't believe it!!

Hello All

Just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to TSR for making me a Selected Artist and to anyone who has ever downloaded any of my creations! I was really surprised to read this news and so grateful to be chosen.
