From her earliest years, Celine dreamed of a career connected to books. Her room was always full of them - not only children's books, but also poetry, novels, and even academic texts. She loved reading everything she could find. Her father was a university lecturer, so the academic world always felt natural and familiar to her. Even in elementary school, her short stories won prizes or received high praise. Literature became the center of her life, and she spent most of her free time reading in her room, at the public library, or in the school library. It was unusual to see Celine without a book. She took one, or more, with her everywhere. This made it harder for her to make friends, but Celine did not mind. She preferred her quiet time with books, surrounded by amazing stories, facts, and ideas.
During her teenage years, romance became her favorite genre. That was not especially surprising, since those years can often be full of emotions, dreams, and thoughts about love. For Celine, however, romance books did more than entertain her. They helped shape the future she imagined for herself. After high school, Celine began studying at the University of Britechester, the oldest and most famous university in the area. It was also where her father worked as a lecturer, and its literature program had a strong and prestigious reputation.
Celine was enchanted by the university from the beginning. Throughout her degree, she felt as though she were living in a dream. Inspired by the atmosphere of the campus, she began writing her own romance novel. At first, she did not even realize that she was writing about something she secretly wanted to experience herself - her own autumn romance among the university buildings, something she had only read about in books until then. The atmosphere, the classes, the architecture, and the books all felt perfect to Celine. She dreamed of spending every day in that world. And this time, her dream came true.
Shortly after graduating with flying colors, Celine was offered a job at the Britechester library, along with accommodation in one of the nearby university buildings. She accepted immediately, without hesitation. For now, she was placed in a smaller and easier part of the library, but it suited her perfectly. It was calm, atmospheric, and filled with more modern books, including many romances for her to read. She could not have asked for anything better. Working there also helped her finish her own book. She even designed the cover herself and printed a single copy. Everything was ready, but Celine still did not have the courage to publish it. Perhaps, she thought, the book was meant only for her.
One quiet day at the library, when there were not many people around, Celine was looking at her book and wondering what to do with it. Then a man approached the desk and asked for help finding several books. He turned out to be a newly hired lecturer who wanted to prepare carefully for his classes so he would not disappoint his students, especially because he was still young. Celine immediately began collecting the books for him, as library staff usually did, while he waited nearby. As he waited, he noticed the book on the counter - Celine's book. Curious, he picked it up and began reading it in a corner of the library. It took Celine quite a while to gather all the books he needed, because she had to stop several times to handle other duties. When she finally returned to the desk, she noticed that her own book was missing. Panicked, she looked around until she saw the man - Andre, casually reading it. She hurried over to take it back, but he did not want to give it up. He told her it was the best romance he had ever read and that he could not simply stop reading now. They looked like two children arguing as she tried to get the book back from him. Celine had never been so open or playful with someone she had just met. Maybe there was an instant connection between them so neither of them felt shy, even though they had only just met. Or was it something else, as he seem to visit this part of the library pretty often since then?
