This is an excellent design for a family compound as it allows expansion in all directions. Each family member can marry, bring their spouse and kids, and add on to their wing. The wing facing the ocean/lake can go no further but can be used as a living room/den for serenity's sake. The further back each wing is stretched, the more room it has to the left and right, allowing ever-growing families to capitalize on the space. It is a lovely design and would even work well as an underground structure. In real life, instead of a moat, think cisterns fed by the roof runoff during rains.

The future of America will force multiple families to live in one house just to get by. Nobody can afford these ridiculous half million dollar cracker boxes with one bedroom. This design allows many to share the cost yet have their own unique areas in which to retreat, yet also have a central locus in which to meet if so desired. It is smart, economically feasible, and timely.

This house is the wave of the future. Thank you for saving me the time of designing it.
