A Visit from St. Nicholas (also known as The Night Before Christmas) by Clement Clarke Moore is one of the most beloved Christmas poems of all time. Moore wrote the poem for his children and recited it to them for the first time on Christmas Eve, 1822. It was published anonymously the following year in the Troy (New York) Sentinel. The poem was not acknowledged in print as having been written by Moore until the publication of his collection, Poems, in 1844. In my family, as in many others, Christmas Eve would not be complete without a reading of A Visit from St. Nicholas. The poem was the inspiration for my Christmas cottage and I have included a few lines from the poem with the pictures.
This cozy cottage is the perfect holiday retreat for your Sims. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside and out, every room reflects the spirit of the season. The tree is trimmed and surrounded by presents from family and friends. The stockings are hung by the fireplace, ready to be filled with Santas goodies. And, on the coffee table in the living room, cookies and hot cocoa will provide a welcome snack for Santa. There is even a bunch of carrots for his reindeer! It is Christmas Eve and everything is in readiness for Santas arrival.

My base game is patched through 1.63.4.024001. I have the World Adventures expansion pack and the Monte Vista and Riverview worlds installed. This lot may contain items from this expansion pack; however, if you do not have the EP, comparable base game items will be substituted. (Sims not included.)
I do not have the Seasons expansion pack. The snowy effect comes from TSR custom content: Snowy Grass terrain paints by Ayyuff, Snowy Roof by Hatshepsut, and Fir Trees by Severinka. Thank you all for your wonderful creations!
This lot was originally built on a 30x30 lot at 350 Oak Grove Road in Sunset Valley. It will work on any 30x30 lot but, if you want to place it at this location, you will need to change the existing vacant community lot to a residential lot before placing the house. To obtain the heavily wooded look of the screenshots, you will need to go to World Editor and place trees on the land surrounding this lot.
