NEW stuff coming and latest poll results
Thanks to everyone who participated in my last poll regarding large sets of items. Here are the results: I like complete room sets, no matter how many items are in the set 53.89% (104 votes) I prefer smaller sets, big complete room sets are too overwhelming 12.95% (25 votes) I like large sets with lots of items, but I never download the entire set, I just pick and choose the items I like 32.12% (62 votes) I don't download sets 1.04% (2 votes) From now on I won't worry about how many items I put into my sets! And the latest and greatest is that I'm starting a new series! This series is based on the "Bed in a Bag" idea, which you see in many US department stores. These sets will contain textiles for decorating in your bedroom: Bedding, pillows, bedskirt, rug, and curtains. I'm also doing a recolor of the Maxis Medieval bed. There will be LOTS of these sets coming out in the next several months, I'm having a lot of fun making them. Here's a preview:Just Color Series Three
I have finally gotten around to uploading the last sets of appliance recolors that have been sitting on my computer for weeks. I am now wrapping up the Just Color Series Two sets and have already started on Just Color Series Three sets. Here's a preview:Back to Just Color
I've put aside the appliance project for a while and am back to concentrating full-time on the Just Color Series. The second room set for Series Two is pretty much finished and will make all you kitchen lovers happy!!!! Here's a preview:Expensive Appliance recolors
I have gotten a few suggestions to recolor the expensive appliances in addition to my recolors of the cheap appliances. Maxis objects are notoriously difficult to recolor, their textures can be very complicated. I have had to completely recreate some parts in order to get them to look the way I wanted them to.Also, in terms of "hunger points", the Econocool fridge has the same number as the expensive fridge. The only appliance that's really worth upgrading is the stove - the Dialectric has 2 "hunger points" while the expensive stove has 10. So let's just say that for now, I'm considering it, but at this time I'll have to put the project on hold. And when I do decide to take it on, I'll probably only recolor the expensive stove - because that's really the only appliance worth upgrading as far as game play is concerned.
I've got one more set of "cheap" appliances coming out - this time in bright colors. Beyond that, I've pretty much exhausted the range of colors that work for those objects. So right now, I'm back to concentrating on my "Just Color" series and hope to expand that to include a wider range of objects that hopefully can decorate every room in the house.
I want to thank everyone who has sent comments about my creations and I'm so happy that you like them!
Rolling off the presses
Well, the appliance recolors are finally done and will be coming out in several sets over the next few weeks. There will be Designer Series Two and a set of Bright colors as well. I'm also working on a kitchen for the Just Color Series Two. And I FINALLY got around to buying Seasons, so who knows what I'll be doing once I'm done playing around with that!I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my creations and in my guestbook. I'm glad you like my stuff, you're the reason I keep doing it! Thanks!!!
Still MORE appliance recolors
The creative process is like giving birth. You start with just a tiny idea, then you think about it, play with it in your mind, until finally it gets so big, IT JUST HAS TO COME OUT. And then of course, you've fallen in love with your results and absolutely cannot stand to throw out any part of them. When I was doing my original appliance recolors, I went through many, many beautiful recolors in search of the colors I wanted. I can't stand to throw them away, especially since the items have been so popular. So in the coming weeks, I'll be releasing three more sets - Pastels, Brights, and Designer Colors II.
Thanks to everyone who has sent such nice comments. I'm glad you like my creations and reading such nice things is what keeps me going. Thanks!!!!!
Appliance recolors here!
I finally became satisfied with my textures for the dishwasher and trash compactor and cheap stove. Maxis doesn't make it easy to recolor their in-game items! I hope you like them. The designer recolors to match the fridges are coming out today and in the next several days. I've also done two other sets of colors - brights and pastels. Those should start coming out in the next couple of weeks. And I haven't forgotten about the Just Color series. My next color scheme will be very neutral, cool, and modern. Which should be a nice complement to the types of furniture and objects that I like, which are decidedly NOT modern! I'm already starting to work on objects and I hope to get some preview pics up soon.
Appliance Recolors coming
I've gotten several requests to recolor the other kitchen appliances in the same colors that I did the refrigerator. Well, I'm working on it! Hopefully I'll be rolling these out in the next month or so. I've had a hard time with the Maxis stoves however, so I'll probably pull a different stove to recolor, I'm still searching for just the right mesh (that trips me up every time!)Upcoming sets
I'm still working on new sets for the Just Color series one. Upcoming is a kitchen and dining room. Then I'll have bedding and more curtains. Then I'll have a bathroom. I'm considering some nursery sets too, but I'm having trouble finding meshes that I like! I spent several weeks searching for just the right kitchen meshes, so I'm probably going to be recoloring maxis items for the nurseries.Just for grins, I've released a painting set. When I was recoloring some things for the latest living room set, I was playing around and stumbled upon making these types of wall hangings and ended up making about 3 dozen different ones. The latest set contains some of my favorites. I might do a couple more, I'm not sure.
For those of you who have downloaded, commented, thanked, etc., thank you so much for your support and kind words!
