Trying

Well, I wrote to the site and asked if it would be possible to put all the items for each set style into one big zip file for you. Still haven't heard from them, but it is a time when a lot of people are taking off on holiday, so I'll give them another week to respond. If I still don't hear anything, well, we're no worse off than we were before. I'm just trying to make it a bit easier.

What's new? I've done a recolor of the Salsa bathroom to match the Salsa bedroom recolor I did. I know, you haven't seen that yet either. I'm going to try to get it out this week.

There are several other things I'm working on. I'll get them to you as soon as I can. Let me know if you want something in particular and I'll try to work it in.

Difficulties

Boy, you folks are not going to like me. But it's ownly partly my fault. I have made 3 of what I call Multi-Sets. They are a sort of combination bedroom, dining room and living room all in one. But looking at the site I got the meshes from it's a bit of a mess. Each item has to be downloaded individually and the items are in 4 different places. If I didn't like what I'd created, I would scrap the whole bit just for the inconvenience to you.

I did two living rooms also from the same site. I'm not sure if they are individual downloads or not, but I suspect they are. I hope you don't mind all that downloading.

I also made about 5 extra sets of cushions for the living room furniture and dining chair so you can have some variety.

Also the UV Mapping is just a bit off on some of the items, so the fabric isn't always stricly in line, but I think what I've used minimizes that problem.

So I'm trying to get you some rooms out. The poll makes it pretty plain that rooms rule and that you don't want any walls. I have some walls in the queue, but I'll hold on to them for a bit and get your room craving satisfied.

The Turano Dining Room in Yellow is coming out soon. The Add-on packs for the sets already released, plus the yellow one will be coming out. Then there are more colors to come.

I did another recolor of the Bon Bon bedroom in Berry and that will make its way out.

And I did a recolor of the Salsa bedroom. Ambitious undertaking, but I think it came out well. We'll see what you think.

I did some phone kiosks in the 20 colors and those will be out eventually. Someone requested that. And I'm working on doing the public telephones as well, but that has been set aside for the moment.

And I have a couple of texture challenge rooms to get to you too.

And in the next few days one of my favorite rooms I've done will come out. We shall see if you agree.

Another Milestone!

Wow. 2 million downloads. When I started doing this last May, I would have never believed it. I want to thank everyone for downloading, commenting and thanking. And also answering my polls. It really helps when I have a clue what you want.

There have also been a few people who have made requests and it seems like the requested items have always done well. So if you have an idea, let me know! It may take a while to make its way through the queue, but it'll get there.

So what have I been doing lately? Well, I finished the add-on packs for the Turano Dining Room. And I did a recolor of the beautiful Salsa bedroom. Those have been uploaded and are making there way through. There are about 4 more living rooms I've been working on that are almost ready to go. Actually, that's not quite right. 3 of them are what I called MultiSets. They have a living room, bedroom, dining table and study things. They are based on rather old meshes that didn't have such great mapping, but I think you'll like them. I made some extra cushions for the living room furniture so you could have some variety.

I've been trying to learn more about meshing in my spare time, but I've not had enough of it to make a dent.

Add-on Preview

I'm getting kind of excited about the add-on packs for the Turano Dining Room recolors. Here is a little sample. I think I've decided to release them color by color. Seems to make sense to me. I thought about lumping a few colors together, but that would make it more difficult for people who only have one or 2 colors. And I thought about putting all the items together into individual sets, but my little polls tell me you don't really want that. Here is a screenshot. What do you think? There are 5 items, the two shelves (which come from Mango Sims 2), the vase, plant and high chair.

Finally!

Well, it looks like they finally decided it was okay to release my bathroom sets and they'll be streaming out in the next couple of days. Keep in mind these are really nothing new. If you've already downloaded all the bathroom stuff, they won't do a thing for you. But for those of you who just want your favorite color and didn't want to go through and pick them out, then you this will help. I've noticed that apparently a lot of people like this idea. My red items in all these sets have taken a jump up. So I think I'm glad I did this. We'll see what happens when they all come out. Now I can stop worrying about them and think about what is next!

So it's not looking too bad for anything you want. Just be patient, it'll get here eventually!

It Works!

At least it seems to. The Red Bathroom set is out. I downloaded the set and everything was there. When you go to an item in the set and then click on See complete Set, it takes you back to the original set it came from, so you have to use your back button, but I don't think that is a very big deal and it's probably desireable in the long run. So unless someone writes me that something is wrong, I'll be releasing the other 19 similar ones shortly. So if you only have one or two colors you like and don't want to clutter up your bathroom items with 20 of each, you can finally have what you want!

I've just about finished work on a couple of new living rooms to upload that I think you'll like. I'm also working on some rugs that are very artistist drawings of cats and dogs, dogs mostly. Lots more coming! Enjoy!

Second Thoughts

After talking to some people, I'm not quite sure if these bathroom sets will work the way I want them to or not, so I'm just releasing one as a test, so if something doesn't work right, I won't have so much to go back and fix. If it works out okay, I'll release the rest. I chose red because it seems to be one of the less popular colors for a bathroom. So I'll see what happens and let you know!

The poll seems to say you want lots of rooms and rugs and not too many paintings and walls. Sorry there are a bunch of those in the queue already, but I'm working on some room sets for you and will continue to release the rug sets I already have uploaded as well as develop some new ones.

I am warming to the concept of rooms. I like to take an idea and watch it grow. I'm having fun! Hope you are, too!

Caution

I found out that I can create sets from items previously released under other sets. With that in mind and with the results of the current poll so obvious, I created bathroom sets out of all my bathroom object collections. Those who have previously downloaded some of the items in the set need to be careful not to introduce duplicates into their system. Generally if you overwrite any content you install from these sets you should be okay. Just wanted to put this out there so you can avoid any problems. In the meantime new downloaders will be happy because they will have complete bathrooms to download.

I wish to further state that the pictures for the bathroom sets do not represent how I would build a bathroom. They are just a means to display all the items. Generally, I'd try to add something in white or off-white to offset the main color. Or maybe have one main color and a second accent color. And of course, I'd have one wall and floor or the other, not both!

Turnaround

It seems there has been a turnaround in my poll. Livingrooms are now leading kitchens as the most preferred room to download. I'll have to see if I can come up with some living rooms for you to enjoy. Bedrooms are still in the running as well. I'll let this poll run through tomorrow, I think, then I'll have to come up with something new. So if you haven't voted, now is the time to do so. Thanks to all who participated!
