My gosh .. iam hogging all your GB space with my longwinded posts..lol. I am WAAAAY too tired tonight to try again with SimPE. I will re-try on the weekend when I am a little more rested! Say a lil prayer that I am successful this time.. so I stop buggin you..lol $\;\)$

Ok so what i have been doing is 1. Open SimPe, 2. Open object workshop 3. click OPEN , 4. Find CC mesh , 5.Click Recolor - Start ...AT THIS POINT a dialog box opens and asks me to SAVE AS.. ( my file type options are DPBF ( package, template etc) OR All files. (In the past I have been choosing DPBF)( also i would save to a folder called My Recolors. I had tried also My downloads)When I open this file I have saved to recolor .. Paint now tells me they cant open it.. its not Bitmap...hmmph!( But I have recolored before)WTF? Now I am more stuck! I think I saved as ALL FILES before .. so that I was able to recolor. As for the steps you wrote in my GB .. I was doing just that .. all of it. Perhaps it s the file type I am saving? geesh .. I certainly feel like a nincomppoop!

Ok.. I open Simpe, go to Windows , scroll to Object creation.. click. I choose OPEn for CC.. i pick the mesh i want from my downloads folder I start, choose recolor,click start So theres the object texture, i have clicked on the Plugin view tab I export the object to a folder for my recolored objects projects.. i save in PNG format I go to my paint program , open up my texture and change it to what i want How am i doing so far? this is where it gets confusing with teh Buld DDs and import thing.. I f I am correct so far up to this point please please tell me what i am doing next? LOL

LOL... i still need help..LOL $\:o$ I went in and clicked on Build DDS ( I set up the DDS Utilities.. i had downloaded it but it i guess not assigned with SimPE) anyhoo.. i got excited.. thought " this is it ..YAY".. then went into my game and ... nothin! Grrrr. I have been too busy in the past few days to try again yet.. and anytime on my pc has been spent finishing up some stuff I already had started and then of course the long process of uploading everything! Thanks for asking! $\:D$

That was the main problem...in the tutorial.. at some point it said to right click on the texture pic.. which would bring up a window with option to "build DDS".. however i couldnt click on the build dds.. it wouldnt let me. LOL. Ok... i have a grand idea.. i am going to stop watching the Toronto Leafs hockey game with my hubby right now and go up on my pc and go thru the Numenor tutorial step by step.. and recolor the maxi object it doe sin the tutorial.. adn see if thsi gets any lightbulbs going in me wee brain..lol. Thanks for the help anyway Tdyannd. Does Sim Shack have any threads on thsi kind of stuff at all?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I am hitting open..problem is that I learned to recolor with Wizard of SimPE not regular SimPE. So i am hitting open and everything looks like its going well.. I export and do my painting then import and commit and save. yet it doesnt show up in game. i see a new sofa in the file with an asterick but no color! Hmmph! In the tutorial by Numenor.. he was using a Maxi object in OBJECT WORKSHOP . Not CC. Please help! $\:\($ $\:confused\:$ I must be missing something.. onviously something really important! $\:P$

WOW!thanks for such a nice comment in my GB $\:wub\:$ That means alot to me.. considering how incredibly talented you are! I am just a novice! I hope you are feeling better ( i read your blog) Dont be afraid .. everything will work out fine! ( I have had similar type surgeries) I will be praying for you though too $\:D$ Hey if u have any time... is there any way you could simply explain recoloring othe rpeopels meshes.. i rea a tutoiral by numenor over at MTS and I have been trying and its not working out for me! Grr.. I really want to recolor some Holy Simoly stuff ..I have all these ideas floating around and am unable to create them! UGH.. GRRRR $\:mad\:$

Guess what I decided. It needed muuuuch patience. I wouldn't wonder if you or Issy join me soon, your sets improved rapidly and for some months I bacame a frequent downloader of your stuff. Tiffany, you need to do yourself a favor and kinda forget about us for a little while. If anything like me you don't need the stress of everybody freaking out about the Andretti legacy, your sets, and everything else you do in your spare time while you're not well. You just need to think this is one thing that's temporarily off your list and hopefully that will make you feel a litle bit better.
