Upcoming High Rise!

Did I say High Rise?! Well, yes...in fact...I did! It's not the type of high rise you might be expecting though. I decided to create a building with a luxurious "old school" feel to it. Kind of like it's a condo that's been in an old money family for years. ;) It is decorated as a traditional home, rather than the modern that seems to dominate high rises. It also contains absolutely NO CC. Yup...a completely EA only skyscraper. :D There are 2 beds and 2 baths, 3 fireplaces...all fireproofed already...and even a formal dining and full library! The master has its own bath and is a very nice size. Enjoy the shots, and check out the tips for apartments I listed below!

A few tips and tricks I learned about these fascinating buildings:

1 - You don't actually want to put any more high rises in Bridgewater UNLESS you:

•     Delete a few of the high rises already there.

•     Create/download a community lot which requires a bunch of new NPCs to spawn

Why? Well for one thing, each neighborhood has a pool of NPCs but they are already living in the lots that are pre-made. Basically there would be no one left to move into your apartment building. Better to either do the two things I posted above if you MUST have it in Bridgewater, or place it as I have for testing and these shots...in Sunset Valley or some other neighborhood.

2 - The apartment mailbox will move occasionally from its place on the wall to in front of the building like a regular mailbox when you move the lot. Don't panic! :D Just grab it and place it on the wall where it belongs.

3 - If you don't want a variety of "neighbors", but would instead like to see the same faces all the time in your building, simply ring the bell on their apartment doors and chat with them. This locks the person to that door and they will be your neighbor...for good, or bad. ;)

Apartments can be fun, so enjoy them! Hope you like the new lot!

Sim Creating Spree

I seem to be on what I term to be a 'Sim Creating Spree'. I've been creating Sims like nobody's business since last week. Create about 3 and delete 2 of the 3 before publishing the last one. Haha. Trial and error and all that, you understand. Anyways, if you like my sims thus far, you'd be glad to know that there're many more on the way. Look out for my upcoming Titanic related Sim. All that advertising for the soon to Theatres 3D Titanic movie is making my blood pumping with excitement and I just couldn't hold out any longer without creating something to do with my favourite movie ever. Long live Leonardo and Kate as the most amazing couple in history.

'After' Pics of Our Last Renovation Project

DASHBOARD oh how I miss thee!

Dashboard oh dashboard how I miss thee, how I wish TSR had kept thee on board! 

Your features can't all be so easily found any more....

Without you it makes findining recent comments on our submissions quite the chore.

And bookmarks....it was another way for us lower level artists to know that we SHOULD KEEP SUBMITTING our work more.

Amongst the things I miss most from before it is YOU oh beloved DASHBOARD that I ADORED!

 

Ode to the now missing (unless I've missed something) "dashboard".  It was a nice quick & easy way of finding/seeing if any new comments had been left on any pix/sumissions/stories/blogs which sometimes have been OLDER submissions (I've had pix, stories, lots, walls, & pets that all had NEW comments well after 1yr mark).  And as a non FA/SA aside from the #s of downloads we get over-all (which for TS2 is NOT what it used to be not even a year ago.) to let us know if people like what we've submitted, seeing that a new person had bookmarked me not only let me know that I was doing at least a 1/2 decent job on my quality & style of work. I love creating but it does take quite a bit longer to make things submitable vs. just play-able for MYSELF.....so that was one of those things that let me know......"OK so just MAYBE I SHOULD keep on submitting, since people do seem to like my work I'll go ahead & keep on packaging up my wals & making collages.".  I submit instead of just going in & decorating more of MY lots or moving on to the next project.....AND playing less & creating more.  As long as even a handful of people do continue to download my work I'll continue to submit.....but I DO miss that extra little incentive.

To TSR staff: this was not meant to make waves or irrotate, but as a "playful" way of pleading & groveling to get a few of the old features that were available from dashboard BACK. ;)

Update Chinese inspired swimsuit

I have update my chinese inspired swimsuit since you now can choose (if you got showtime) what work clothes you want to wear. So I have added the swimsuit to everyday and work categories.

Hey people,

After a couple months being away, I began to miss playing the Sims 2 >.< Now I'll shall happily come back to the place where I escape reality haha.  But while I'm at it I'll continue with my Sims 2 Drama/ Romance "Take Care".  Can't wait to get a new chapter out on modthesims or my new website. I'll keep posting any news on the story. But for now I will have fun taking some snapshots. Cheese!

So the new TSR...

I don't know if its just me but I'm so confused! I'm trying to get used to it(I mean eventually I will) but its so different! I hope this doesn't turn into a Facebook like thing; where it changes constantly. Right now this new updat is messing up my stories so I don't know what going to happen. Hope for the best...

v8 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Where are my Kudos!??
Kudos are being replaced with our new Awards system. While it is not yet functional, it will be soon, and we know you're going to love it. If you earned enough Kudos for Free days, _you can still use them_ but you need to do it within the next three weeks or they will expire. (To use them go to http://oldsite.thesimsresource.com) If you were using Kudos for minisite perks, they are no longer needed. Now everyone has their own profile page!

2. A profile page?
Yes, now everyone has one. To access your page, make sure you are logged in, and click the 'My Profile' link in the top left corner of the TSR page.

3. Can I customize my profile page?
To some extent, yes. You can add a banner image, post in your blog, fill in your 'About Me' profile and feature your creations (if you have any). There are plans to make a few tweaks in the future, such as letting users decide what content to display, but the main focus for the coders right now is bug fixes, so that will have to wait.

4. How do I customize my profile page?
Once you are logged in, you can hover your mouse over your username in the top left and see the menu of actions available. Click on "My Account" and you should see areas for personal information, updating your blog, uploading a banner image, etc.

5. How do I download?
If you are not a subscriber, you will need to click on the Name of the Download located under the preview image. It will open the Details page where you should see the download button under the image. This is just like it was in v7 where you had to click the 'Show Details' link, except now you're clicking on the name itself. If you are a subscriber, you can click the preview image, which will open a Quick View popup with a download button.

6. I'm on an Featured Artist's minisite and I can't find the downloads...
Across the top of the page you will see a row of links. It should have the artist's name followed by Downloads then Studio then the envelope for private messages and so on... click on the word Downloads, choose the game if necessary and then you will see all of the downloads by that artist.

7. How do I sort the downloads?
When you access a page listing several downloads, you should see a Toggle Filters button on the left. Click that button to open up the filters menu.

8. I think I found a bug, what should I do?
Report anything that isn't working by either opening a ticket in our support system, or by posting it here on the forums - http://forums.thesimsresource.com/index.php?/forum/221-tsr-version-8-public-beta/ You can also leave comments or suggestions on the forums.
